Heather Rainier

Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with humor, tragedy, and triumph mixed in.

Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower" and Bertrice Small's "Skye O'Malley". To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.

Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels.

When not at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her teenagers, or loving on her smokin' hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Heather invites readers to e-mail her at heather.rainier@yahoo.com and also to visit her website at www.heatherrainier.com

It is always a highlight when I am able to download the latest book by Heather and return to Divine, Texas. Her Diva fans know what I am referring to. She never lets us down and always has us begging for her next read. This current release is also a cross over book with fellow author Cara Covington’s book titled: Love Under Two Private Dicks.

Lucy’s Revenge centers on the lives of Lucy Carter, Beck O’Malley and Patrick Owen. We also see some long time friends and family putting in brief appearances.

Lucy has had her heart broken before. Now she knows what she wants from life. She has set her sights on Beck and Patrick. And while Patrick is on board, Beck is still holding out hopes that Chloe will return to Divine. The Character of Lucy was such a delight. She is full of fire and does not hesitate to let Beck know when he suffers once again from foot-in-mouth disease. She not only is moving on in her love life, she has taken the giant step of opening her own massage therapy clinic, A Divine Retreat.

Patrick Owen was betrayed by his first wife. He is currently raising Patrick Junior on his own. He never thought he would be ready to fall in love so soon, but he is finding it hard to stay away from Lucy. And while he knows his business might suffer because of the lifestyle he is about to choose, he will do anything to be with the woman he loves.

Beck O’Malley is Divine’s local Bee Keeper. When Beck is not harvesting honey you can find him making beeswax candles and body products, or making bee hives to sell to customers. He has been waiting for a year for Chloe Rhodes to return from Lusty, Texas. She turned down Beck’s proposal and took off one week later. While he believed himself deeply in love with Chloe, he struggles with his attraction to Lucy.

The passion level is just what fans have come to want and expect from Heather. The story of Patrick, Beck and Lucy brought a few tears, cheers and head shaking moments. I wondered at times if Beck was ever going to get it right. Just as things look like they are going to work out between these three, Lucy faces a life-threatening moment.

With one of Heather’s Divine reads we still get to experience some dancing, a great music play list and long term friends that are always there for each other. I could not help but notice a few news names in the mix, I am sure we will see them down the road in future books, especially the duo of Ransome Cross and Val Teller. These two sound Divine!

I have already marked my calendar for Heather’s next release titled Maizy The Bear Charmer due November 8th and then the long awaited Awakening Veronica due out December 20th Sheriff Hank Stinson will finally get his story.

There are always many favorite lines in Heather’s books here is just one of the many:
“You and I are having us a come-to-Jesus meeting one of these days, Beck O’Malley. Call me that again and next time I may rip a few hairs out instead of just latch onto them.”

This was another amazing story by the talented Heather Rainier. Loved the Hero's and Heroine. Beck one min you are laughing with him and the next you want to reach through the pages and smack him. And Lucy watching her grow more confident in the story was amazing and inspiring. And Patrick I always wanted to see get a HEA ever since reading Summer's Indiscretion. This is one of her best yet. This is my new favorite. And that is saying alot since I love all the Divine series books.

This Book was a crossover with the talented Cara Covington (aka Morgan Ashbury) Love under Two Private Dicks. The Lusty series. Check out this series too, you will love it. This was amazing the way these two books crossover with each other. I will be looking for more crossover from these two very talented authors.

Heather Rainier outdid herself on this book. Highly Recommend. This is one series you will want to reread over and over again.

OMG Heather did it again. You take three people who have been hurt by love and watch as they come together with ups and downs to find that all consuming love and the happily ever after. Kinda helps that Beck and Patrick are smokin hot, that Lucy is sexy and brave and coming into her own worth. Then you throw in some burn up your sheets sex and you have another winner from Miss Heather Rainier. I just loved this book!!!!

Another sexy and sassy visit to Divine, TX where folks are gutsy enough to be who they are and live in loving families put together they way they want them. The main characters are individuals who have been introduced in previous books or are related to those highlighted in previous books. All are people who have been worked over emotionally by unkind, judgmental, emotionally abusive people in their lives and in the case of Beck, he just loved a woman who didn't love him enough to remain with him. All three have massive trust issues yet are aware that their hopes for the future can never come completely true without each other. There are times of deep anxiety and disappointment that are healed or mitigated by patience and loving concern. And it is also delightful that the presence of Patrick's young son is also a healing force in bringing these three people together. Most of all I think this is another story from Divine, Tx that reminds us all of the strength that women bring to relationships, the need for women to support one another so that the negative attitudes of others no longer defeat them. Lucy has insecurities that are totally out of sync with who she really is. It is wonderful to watch her blossom because of the love of two men who are willing to do whatever it takes to show their love for her. It's another example of how this author keeps growing in her craft and sharing her understanding about the wonder of love that comes in many forms. It is also another opportunity for us as readers to "check in" with the citizens of this unusual community. In addition, there are several characters who are a cross-over with the characters in the Lusty, TX series from Morgan Ashbury writing as Cara Covington. If this is a new reading experience, be sure to get all the other stories in this series, and for those of us who are delighted with each new episode in the Divine Creek Saga, it's another literary home run.

The "Divine" Ms. Heather Rainier has hit another homerun! The latest addition to her Divine Family will make your emotions run amuck! You'll be giggling, laughing out loud...(might even spit your drink out), then you'll be mad, madder, almost enraged, ready to smack someone through the pages...and then you'll be sighing, and wishing it was you in the arms of those two VERY different HAWT men. Ms. Rainier's brilliant storytelling is something you do not want to miss one single word of. Her talent in inviting the reader INTO the book is so amazing I really don't know how to describe it. All I can say is that, again, after finishing one of her wonderful books, I feel like I should be able to hop into my car and drive over to see Lucy or Gracie or stop at the Dancing Pony for a night with the girls. I HIGHLY recommend this book and ALL of Ms. Rainier's books!

Oh my God!!! This book was so wonderful. Love all the stories in the "Divine" series, but this one just went to the top as my favorite. Ever since meeting Beck, Patrick, and Lucy, I have wanted to read their story and I can honestly say it was worth the wait.

Watching Lucy grow more confident as the book progresses was inspiring. Watching these three characters grow individually and work to make their menage relationship work is delightful.

This book has a cross over with Cara Covington's (aka Morgan Ashbury) "Lusty" series book "Love Under Two Private Dick", so check out that series too.

Heather out did herself on this book!! Highly recommend this book and series from a lovely and talented writer. This is a series that you will want to re-read for many years to come.

I would have liked this one better had Beck not been such a judgmental ass for most of the book, it really turned me off the book and didn't make me want to root for this trio. In fact, I really thought Lucy and Patrick would have been better off with out him. Beck's one saving grace was how he was with PJ. He doted on the boy, not matter that he wasn't his.

I loved having the Lusty cross over, thought it was interesting how Lucy and Chloe interacted and were even friends by the end. I think each seeing the other with their men went a long way to ease the feelings of everyone.

I suppose I was disappointed that Patrick seemed to get short shrift in this book - I had been looking forward to reading about how Patrick would finally get happiness in his life. It was a good book, don't get me wrong, but these three people didn't seem to 'mesh' all that well for me - they were just too different. It was almost like these were the 'loose end' characters, so the author decided to lump them together into a ménage.

It took me awhile to read this book, I was not as interested in the main characters. I really liked Lucy but was not crazy about Beck or Patrick from past books. Still, it needed to be read if I wanted to read the next two books in the series, which I am excited about.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Lucy has way more spunk and sass than first expected. She is just my kind of gal, her whole attitude is awesome. Who can resist a girl who says "oh yeah, watch me!" I also loved her technique in getting comfortable in her own skin. I might even have to give it a try, um, what will my cats think of that.

Patrick is a very nice guy, almost too nice. The way he was a pushover for his ex-wife was not attractive. I generally go for the more Alpha types. Happily, I found he has more of an Alpha streak than I suspected.

Beck was another hard sell, he has serious jerk tendencies. Sure he was dumped by the girl her loved, but that is no reason to take it out on a nice girl like Lucy. The sections from his POV really help to soften impressions of him. He is not my favorite hero in the series, but I found myself liking him in the end.

The mixed narrative is great for getting into everybody's thoughts. It is important to understand where they are all coming from. The insights make the characters more engaging, especially the ones I was not totally feeling at first.

Most of the story in this book is about the relationship. There is a lot to deal with in all of their past, they have issues to work through. It was a really interesting journey, very well paced. There is a side story from the Lusty series that comes into play near the end. There are also bits of Tabitha and her nastiness to contend with, pretty sure that will come to head in the next few books.

The steam is yummy!! Plenty of variety in locations, positions and pairings. It is all about the lady in this menage. The characters have been hanging out together for the last year, which made the time frame for intimacy reasonable. There is a touch of dirty talk, I could have used more. I do love a fella with a naughty mouth!! On the downside, the "c" word pops up, really do not like that one, but it isn't so much I can not overlook it every now and again.

I am super excited about the next two books in the series!! Oh yummy bears, not shifters but still big brawny men!! Smexy sheriff Hank is after that, and I do believe his gal will be my new favorite. I love every visit in Divine, even ones like this that do not bowl me over. Every book adds more to the bigger picture, they give you loads of little bits that spill over into this series and Lusty. Such fun reads!! More like visits with old and new friends.

I have enjoyed this series by Heather Rainier and I enjoyed this book as well but had some issues with this story. While the books at the beginning of this series dealt with men who have a close relationship and have known they wanted to share a wife, this book was different. The men in this book are friends, even best friends but they have not been friends for that long. And instead of knowing they enjoy a menage relationship neither one has had that type of relationship or wanted that kind of relationship until they realize they like the same woman. For me something is just missing, I don't expect them to be gay or want each other but I just feel like something is missing in the men's relationship...other than the sex they just don't seem like they are really on the same page.

Now this may be considered a spoiler so read with caution...I think respect is an important part of a relationship and some of that was missing in this story. When Beck overreacts when he thinks Lucy is about to go topless at the rally he really shows a lack of trust and respect but then Lucy makes things so much worse by stripping down and walking around topless, especially knowing that it would upset not only Beck but also Patrick.

The only other part I will address is the end...it felt really forced...like Ms Rainier forgot to add some danger and excitement and had to add it at the very end.

Lucy, Beck and Patrick, are super hot as a sexy ménage !! This author loves the big guys, "gentle giants", and I do too. We like these guys right away because of the wonderful friendship and camaraderie. Lucy is a strong, independent gal who knows her own heart, and there is room for these men there. I love the usual cast of terrific characters from previous stories. This tale is new, suspenseful, interesting, romantic and fun. We have some visits by Lusty, TX characters, and it's fun to look forward to more tales of love. New characters have given us more to look forward to. We always learn new things in Divine. ENJOY !!
If you like this, read Dakota Heat series, by Leah Brooke. Or, Sophie Oak's - Nights in Bliss, CO - series. You'll love them, too !!

Sweet romantic story with some funny moments
I like this author's books, they are consistent and although very similar, I enjoy going into reading these books with certain expectations and having those expectations met. In addition, this book brought together three people from previous books and did it in an interesting way. I did like the character of Beck with his malapropisms, this added another dimension to the humour in the story and to the push and pull of human relationships. Patrick was great but also came across as a stronger character than previously which I liked. Good storyline, very little angst and erotica-lite.

Lucy, Patrick and Beck have been dancing around each other for a year now and a call from Beck's ex sends him into a tailspin, it seems to be the kick in the pants he needs to be with Lucy and Patrick they way they all want, but will he be able to control his anger and fear or will it be what pushes Lucy away.... I really loved this story I found it to be fun and relating on so many levels...onto the next

Another crossover story with Lusty, again enjoyed that the people in this ménage had some real emotions and weren't perfect all the time but still a fairly standard Divine story.

They just keep getting better and better. Lucy is Seth`s little sister, who is struggling as a self employed massage therapist. Patrick is finally getting over what Elizabeth had done to him and is taking care of his son. Beck is a beekeeper and trying to build his business. Patrick has lusted after Lucy for awhile. His best friend, Beck likes Lucy as well but thinks she deserves better than him. Lucy is interested in both of them but Beck hurts her feelings and they fight all the time. Can the three of them get past the town gossip and build a life together? Can Patrick and Beck trust their hearts to Lucy? This is a must read, you won't believe the turn of events in this story.
