Oh, Santa baby!
Turtle Island’s Yummy Santa contest is underway, and master of ceremonies Roni Templeman is ready to rock around the Christmas tree. After years of hiding the pain of loss behind her carefree lifestyle, she’s shocked to find one broad-shouldered contestant is much more than just a hot body. But is she ready to finally let someone unwrap her guarded heart?
Single dad (and gorgeous nerd) Lucas Alexander would do anything to help the charity that’s done so much to help him—even if that means stripping down and suiting up as a sexy Santa. His battle to keep his daughter healthy has been a long, lonely one, but in Roni he’s met the easy, breezy beach girl that he wants by his side. Now he has twelve days to prove to her that their love is worth the risk, and this Santa is determined to claim his Mrs. Claus.

Hot Buttered Yum by Kim Law Turtle Island series #2. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone. Roni Templeman is the master of ceremonies at Turtle Island’s Yummy Santa contest. The contest is run similar to a TV show where the audience gets to vote for who stays and who goes. Roni is a former concert pianist living on Turtle Island and hiding the pain of loss behind her profession smile and using her large home as an escape. Lucas Alexander will do anything for the charity that helped him when needed. If that means stripping and dressing as a sexy Santa, and strutting his six pack for votes, he’ll gladly donate his time. He can work remotely during the down time and in the evenings to keep up with his regular job. Romance and attraction sizzles between Roni and Lucas and as the contest continues and other contestants get eliminated, their casual turns to more. Lucas is ready for a commitment but Roni isn’t sure if she’s ready to love again.
Sexy fun contest days with steamy nights. Lucas wants to help the charity raise money and has fun while playing up the sexy Santa angle. If you’ve ever seen Thunder From Down Under or similar shows, you can probably imagine how the contest on the story goes. Hot! Sadness is life is inevitable and there are moments in this book that made me cry. Ultimately, the sadness made the future and love all the brighter and happier. A fantastic romance that I will remember. My favorite by this author to-date.
This wasn't as good as the first book in the series but it was still very enjoyable.
This is the story of Roni and Lucas. Lucas is on Turtle Island to compete as the Yummy Santa and catches Roni's eye. Starting out as just a fling, things get deep fast. There are a few obstacles they have to overcome, even though there times that Roni aggregated me, we still get our HEA!
This is my first experience with reading a serial, which is a new episode added every week until the whole book has been released. I have to say as a first time, this was a fantastic book to choose. The whole point of the first release is to draw the reader in and Kim Law has certainly done that. She does a perfect job of setting up the story between Roni and Lucas. The set up of the story is the Mr. Yummy Santa contest to bring tourists to Turtle Island. If this was a real place, I would certainly be showing up to check out the contest! Kim leaves off at the right spot, with you wanting more of the story and to see how these two people end up together!
Kim Law’s heroes from her Turtle Island series have the knack for riling up my emotions. Mark from Ex on the Beach did it and now Lucas in this story. Luckily, Ms. Law knows how to reel me right in making me fall deeper in love with her hero.
Lucas is a single parent working full time who is on Turtle lsland to compete for the Yummy Santa contest. Roni and the rest of her friends are hosting this competition and well, this can dampen on the undeniable attraction she and Lucas have for each other. Will they let this stop them from having an affair? Nah, their attraction is strong , and not even their author could’ve stopped them if she wanted to. =)
I actually liked Lucas from the start. I thought he was a stand up guy, very sweet and most definitely sexy. I love that he pursued her even when she tried to stay away from him. He knew how she felt and he didn’t want to let her go. My only problem with him was that there was a time when he demanded a bit too much from Roni a bit too soon. Knowing that he came with an instant family and Roni a jaded single gal; he should understand her fears and maybe give her some slack. Lucas does make it up in the end. He won my heart back leaving me with a happy tear or two.
I didn’t expect Roni to end up with Lucas. From the last novel, I thought she would end up with Mark’s friend. It worked out well because Roni truly needed a man like Lucas. She’s been alone for quite some time , and it’s time she falls for someone who is stable and ready for a long term commitment. I’m glad she finally got her happy-ever-after.
Next up is a novella called Two Turtle Island Doves. I will be about Kelly, Lucas’ friend who is also a contestant for the Yummy Santa Contest. There was a clear introduction of him in this book and from what I gather; he and his wife were in the middle of a divorce. Looks like his story will be about second chances and Christmas themed. I’m excited to get to it! I love second chances.
The book was really good and I loved Roni's and Lucas's story. The ending will make you cry happy tears. There is sexual content in the book just to let you know in case you are not into that kind of book. I read this book as a serial and to tell the truth I do not like reading a book that way. I do not like having to wait another week to get a couple of more chapters. When I start a book I like to know I can read it whenever I have the time to read it. So I will not read any more serial books they are not for me. I also had trouble each week getting the episodes. I had to delete the last one and than reload it each episode so that was kind of frustrating. Other than that it was a really great addition to the Turtle Bay series.
Roni Templeman has been living on Turtle Island for the past three years, after giving up her concert pianist career - and no one knows why. She puts on a brave face, but is still struggling with what happened years later. Tasked with MC-ing the Yummy Santa contest on Turtle Island helps to take her mind off this time of year. And when she meets contestant Lucas Alexander, she has a big distraction! Lucas is a single dad whose daughter has recovered from leukemia, and he's using this contest as a way to nab a large donation to a leukemia charity. He doesn't get seriously involved with anyone since his baby mama left him and Gracie when she got sick. But something about Roni is different. I read this series out of order, which didn't really take much away. And I'm sad that it looks like there aren't any more Turtle Island books to read. The characters are interesting, with flaws and past heartbreaks and I'd really like to visit this place if it existed! I listened to the audio of these books and the narrator does a great job.
This is a wonderful story of takin chances again. Lucas has come to Turtle Island to compete in the Yummy Santa contest to hopefully win $50,000 for his charity. Roni is on the island hoping to heal and figure out what how to move forward. There is instant chemistry between Roni and Lucas when the meet. I enjoyed watching Roni and Lucas fall in love. I absolutely adored the antics of Ms. Rylander!
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are engaging and amazing the connection is undeniable throughout the pages. The storyline flowed easily throughout the pages. A must read!
Love Lucas and Ronnies story. Such a great addition to the series and may be better than 1st book. This one is sexy, funny, heart wrenching and sentimental.

I received this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. Roni Templeman was a famous concert pianist who gave it all up and moved to Turtle Island. She has built a nice quiet life for herself with a group of friends who are small business owners on the island. In order to increase business during the slow winter months, the business owners have created the "Mr Yummy Santa" contest. As the local celebrity, Roni has been designated the "face of the contest" and the master of ceremonies. On the opening day of the contest, Roni meets the hunkiest man she has ever seen, and flirts shamelessly with him. The attraction is mutual and scorching. Unfortunately, Roni learns that the man of her dreams is one of the contestants. She has promised her friend who is running the contest that she won't date any of the contestants, but they can't seem to stay away from each other. Will the integrity of the contest be threatened? Will they be able to get past their previous heartaches and build a future together? This was great chick lit and I highly recommend it.
This is a great book with an emotional storyline. Roni seems so carefree and laid back but she is dealing with some extreme guilt and personal loss. She meets Lucas and they instantly are attracted to each other. Lucas is a single father. His daughter is adorable but issues with Lucas's daughter brings Roni back to her own personal loss and issues. So what starts out as a carefree fun book becomes a heart wrenching read!!! Loved Lucas and Roni, their chemistry is off the charts and I liked their dialogue with each other. The only reason I gave this book a 4 and not a 5 is solely personal preference. Roni was into casual relationships and that is just something I don't like in a heroine. I highly recommend this book and series.
I really liked Lucas (H) and Ronni (h). They're the type of characters you root for when they hit a bump in the road. I didn't even mind their kinda insta-love because the author incorporated their short acquaintance into the storyline very well and makes it plausible. I didn't realize when I grabbed this title that it's the second book in a series. It did just fine as a stand alone. Although now that I know there's more to be found about the other characters, I just might have to hunt up the rest of the series. The supporting cast was colorful and entertaining (loved the little old lady next door!).
Hot Buttered Yum is hot. Roni Templeton is living on Turtle Island in Georgia. The local merchants decide to host a Mr. Yummy Santa contest with the grand prize $25,000 donation to the charity of the winner's choice. She meets Lucas Alexander and he is hot. She only later finds out that he is contestant #7 Lucas Alexander. She had already decided to have her way with him and now she is worried about a conflict of interest since she is the MC for the Mr. Yummy Santa contest. Both set out to have a fling but that is not in the cards. Roni's past collides with Lucas' present and his future. Roni must deal with her past and in order to have what she needs.
I really enjoyed this story. Almost as much as Ex on the Beach. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I was hoping for the multiple storylines that Ex on the Beach had. Ex on the Beach read more like a less dramatic soap opera and I actually liked that and expected the same thing for this book. I also wished there was closure on Mrs Rylanders past. It is a great love story with a lot of passion ans chemistry between Toni and Lucas. I'm hoping there will be more novels in the series. I want to know more about Ginger and Kayla.
This book is a serial. I got it on my Kindle last night at about 11:45. Only had the first few chapters. I am hooked! Love the characters. The premise .. hot bachelor competition for Christmas. Of course one bachelor is drawn to one of the judges and she to him. HOT! HOT! HOT! Not sleazy. You can fell the steam from the characters Roni and Lucas. Read it! You won't be sorry. I can't wait for the next installment.
I really did enjoy this book Hot Buttered Yum. Roni and Lucas and all the quirky characters in this book, My ONLY complaint was that it was a Kindle serial (won't read one again) and that I had such a tough time getting it to download every week. Other than that it was a great read, some sexual scenes in the book to in case you don't like reading that stuff but otherwise I really did enjoy it. Mrs. R. was such a hoot. I loved her character in this book. Great book Kim Law!! :)
Nice story. Maybe a little too formula but still well written and lots of tears to go around. It really does show that people aren't perfect. Fear is a hard thing thing to overcome especially with the loss of a child. We don't always do the right thing when we're afraid. We all need a second chance at redemption. Toni needed it and deserved it. Lucas is a good man and deserved to be happy.
An amazing story of love and hope. Lucas comes to Turtle Island to participate in a charity fund raising event. He should have been off limits. But when has Roni ever followed the rules. Could Roni have found love or is there too much in both their pasts to overcome? Read this beautifully written story and find out. I highly recommend it.
The local business are having a contest to encourage tourist to visit their community with benefits to go to the winners charity. Roni is in charge of the contest and meets Lucas a contestant. Roni and Lucas both have things in their past to overcome. The story is a sizzling romance, with times tears come into your eyes.
I absolutely loved this book. The characters were wonderfully developed and relatable. Lucas grabbed my heart from the very start and Roni was just as great as I remembered her being in the first book. Kim Law's books have been a wonderful discovery for me and I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I wasn't for sure about this book at first. What caught my attention was the title, it is too fun! I love being wrong when it has to do with books. It was my first time reading one of Kim's books, and I am a big fan now. This book is sweet, I love Roni, she may be tiny, but she is one tough cookie! I am looking forward to reading many more of her books!
I read the first installment and it didn't disappoint me. Kim Law has done it again with her serial on Turtle Island with the story of Roni and Lucas. I am hoping these weeks fly by to read each installment. A perfect way to get in the mood for the upcoming holiday season.
A little long in some spots, but it held my attention good, and very Hot, sexy and yum!!!! Held me in the drama until about 96% of the book when it finally was resolved!!! Wanted an epilogue, too. Hope a book comes out about Ginger... She needs her HEA!!
