Ford was in love with Mina his then girlfriend but she broke his heart by cheating on him for 6 months, 10 years have passed and he still sorta stuck on her he been messing with many woman.. (he fucks a chick before meeting Talia blah). He heard from his ex mina that she's back in town and shes getting married, he's out and mets Taila there is a connection there something he never had, he pushes not thinking he can have these feelings for her, but drama seems to want to tear them apart since Mina still has feelings for Ford but shes marrying Taila's Brother.. lord drama..
Can these two get a happy ending? Can Talia brother finally see how toxic Mina is?

First scene is a sex scene of H with ex gf
Fast forward to 10 years later H is still pretty much hung up on ex gf when he meets heroine (whose brother coincidentally is Mina's - the ex gf - current fiance)
A nice enough story (I like Jenika's shifter books) except for the fact that Mina (ex gf) had wayyy too much power given to her in this book.
Someone as vindictive as Mina admits to cheating on you for the past 6 months, you get the fuck over it. Not have a 10 year long pity party celebrating yourself being played by having one night stands with a bunch of women.
Nope. I feel bad for Talia (heroine) for being placed in an awkward position...Ford's a dumba** p*ssy and Mina's the wicked witch of Sweet Water.

I LOVE A DIRTY TALKING HERO
Ford Wylde bear shifter had a disastrous relationship with Mina 10 years ago. He's hardened his heart over the years just using random women for sex. Then he meets Talia Landon who's in Sweet Water for her brothers wedding. Ford cannot get Talia out of his head. The sexy little fox shifter has become all he can think about.
This is a sexy tale with some really hot scenes. I loved Ford he made Talia all hot and bothered with his dirty talk. A short story but well worth reading.

I try not to have someone that I just really hate in a book but I will have to say that it didn’t work out for this book. Mina is one mean, rich girl that gets anything she wants and doesn’t care who she hurts in the process. She’s always going to cheat on the one she is with and not think twice about it. Mina is like the wicked witch in the fairy tales.
When Ford found out that his girlfriend of six years had been cheating on him he went off. He knew that something was wrong because she could never wait to leave and when they had sex she never got into it anymore. If Ford is the way that he is described in this book I would never let him go. It almost makes him lose his one true mate ten years later. He knows that he can’t fight it and he just needs to give in. His bear is taking no chances and will take over if he needs to.
Talia knows that she didn’t get the good looks in her family and she is a little over weight. That changes when she meets Ford. He makes her see herself in a different life. Talia just wishes she could stop her brother from marrying Mina and making them all miserable. Even though she doesn’t know Ford all that much her fox feels safe with him and she always trust her fox.
I never thought I would see the day that a fox and bear mated but it seems in this series that you can’t mate with the same animal that you are. That was something that I didn’t see coming and I really hated it when I found out that this was the second book in the series. I really don’t believe that I am missing anything but I will be going back and reading the first book so that I can read the third. I really hope that Talia’s brother finds the right woman for him. That part was really sad in this book and I won’t give too much away. I don’t want to ruin the story for anyone.
This is an author that I have been reading from just recently. I saw that she wrote books with another author that I liked and I knew that I would like her books. I liked the story line and I want more now.

I think Ford can easily make it onto my fav smexy bear list!!! He is just so delicious!!! Loved this book!!
First, in order to get to the awesome part of the book you have to get through the first two chapters, that are rather angsty for the hero and he is less than likable at times. But is is important to understand his back story and why he is so gun-shy.
The third chapter is where the romance comes in and the story really picks up momentum. Loads of great story telling and a fabulous dynamic between Ford and Talia. I really loved them together!! Such a delight to see the beginnings of something special. This time the pacing was right on point. Steady story action balanced out with bedroom action.
Now I am always a big fan of the bear shifters, let me tell you this one does not disappoint in the steam factor!! Hold onto your panties girls cause it is off the freakin hook!!! Or just leave the panties off cause you will go through a weeks supply reading all the hot and heavy pounding in this book!! Oh, and swoon, Ford is a dirty talker!! Yeah, it was seriously hot and I was highlighting smexy scenes to review again later!!

They are both determined for the encounter to be a one night thing. But fate may have something more in store for the two, neither are prepared for.
This is a awesome cute read. Ford was hurt and completely screwed up because of it. Talia is a curvy fox shifter, who only wants to be loved and cherished. I loved the chemistry between the characters. It is nice to see a normal sized woman get the guy. Mina is the perfect bad guy and you love to hate her. Great read! Wonderful author.

Healing Her Mate
What did you like:
The heroine is a plus sized beauty and was able to start the healing for the damaged hero, Ford. Mina did her best to ruin the men in her life and I'm glad that Talia's brother got out of her trap. I loved when the heroine, Talia, clocked Mina. That one really had it coming and it felt so good to see her get her comeuppance. The ending was nice, showing everyone moving on. I'm kinda hoping that Talia's brother gets a HEA too.
Would you recommend to a friend: Absolutely. Can't wait for the next book.

I liked Ford and Talia together. They were definitely an unlikely couple with his past but Talia was able to help him overcome that. I absolutely loathed Mina. She was scum. I'm glad Luke saw her for what she was. I would have liked to see him get a happily ever after. He seemed like a good dude, and deserved one after his dealings with Mina.

* Seems like everyone needs alcohol to get through the day/life
* Our hero is a bear shifter and knows his GF is cheating for at least 6 months....but does nothing and still fucks her
* Then spends the next 10 years fucking everything in sight because of the way she treated him.
* The insta-love was over the top considering how hung up on his ex he was
* The OW is a human - yet no one called her out on her bullshit.

We read about the 2 brother (Ford) that finds his mate (Talia) she is a sexy foxy mate (pun intended) y must say i like these short storys and specialy these on cuz it had a good clasic background contemporary story, it is short but good I really like that they talk about thick girls which makes more of a bigger range to move the character arround always good sexy scenes with a glimps of the HEA.

Enjoyable second installment to the series.
Ford has been on a downward spiral of self-hate for the last ten years. He works hard, drinks hard and has meaningless one night (or one or two hour) stands. His dark attitude all began when his high school sweetheart/girlfriend of six years, sleeps around and treats him like crap. He feels that he let himself be taken for granted and can't believe he didn't catch on sooner.
Talia is in town for her brothers wedding, who happens to be marrying Ford's ex. Talia hates her brothers fiancé and can't understand why he lets Mina walk all over him. Talia loves her brother and for that reason she does her best to deal nicely with Mina.
Ford and Talia meet in the cafe and both feel an instant attraction. There next meeting in a bar leads to a night neither can forget. When Talia is around Ford he feels as if his darkness is lifted. Individually they realise that each is the others mate. The attraction for each other is quickly morphed into love.
I found this a sweet and sexy story and I'm looking forward to more in the series.

Not bad, but not perfect. The first half was filled with emotion and character building, and then we hit him seeing Mena again for the first time, and the hero and heroine mating and it seemed to just get cheesy, cliche and I wasn't a fan. I didn't dislike Mena because she was a horrid person, but more the way her characters parts were incorporated into the story. It just felt flat I guess, and at times too unrealistic in terms of reactions or whatever. Quickly tied off, I wanted to read the last brothers book, and probably will soon, and I'd like to again comment (I did so whilst reading) about how this cover is stupid and I hate it. Just because there's red hair and blue eyes doesn't mean you slap her on there. She's 'a size 18' so put someone more the characters weight on there, or don't have people on there at all. If you're putting models on, PLEASE make sure they fit your own descriptions because when they're this tacky looking it just makes it 10x worse.

I really loved this book. I really loved the male lead in this one. He was a very brooding character. He really has suffered and is a dark character. I loved that he found his way to the light. He found it and didn't really give it up. He had to go through his journey. I loved how he talked dirty to Red. It was an incredible turn on. I had to fan myself alot. I also loved that the female lead despite being short wasn't your typical skinny blonde airhead. She wasn't a whiny. She had her own personal issues to deal with. How she looked at herself was her major issue. It's not easy to verbalize what is really happening to others what you really think or want. I really loved that they had grown. Meaning they went through their journey and came out all of the better for it. I will happily reread this story always.

Again, loved the book, loved the characters but had to deduct 1 star for HUGE paragraphs. Reading on a pc or ereader is different than paper and whoever edited this needs to learn the difference.
Whitespace is necessary on ereaders because your eyes get really tired really fast and these books (entire series so far) are so difficult to read because they go on page after page with no paragraph breaks.
Otherwise, great story.
NOTE: The author is a real sweetheart (have chatted with her on Facebook many times)and is sooooo talented and this is in no way a slam on her, it's strictly an editing issue.

Ford is one very smexy bear. Very delicious as well. AND THE CAKE TOPPER! He is a dirt talker as well. *swoons* Jenika definitely doesn't disappoint!
The writing is great and engaging, and the dynamic between Ford and Talia is amazing, sexual tension is running high between them They are such a pair together. It's always amazing to witness the starting of something special. And I love that Talia is curvy <3 and she gets one helluva guy.
One thing that killed a star was Ford still seemed pretty hung up over Mina, who is an absolute bitch by the way. Other than that, great read and hot sex.

If you have read Bared for her Bear then you get a little of Ford's story. He is seems so angry and doesn't want to get hurt again, so he shut's off everyone by drinking and sleeping around. Then Talia walks into his life and his world is turned upside down. Ford is such a domineering man while Talia is more reserved but in the book they work great together. Love the fact that Talia is a real women with curves and the inner struggles she has with her self image is brought out . All in all great book. A must read! Can't wait for Bram's story hope someone can bring him to his knees!

I love the way Jenika Snow reinforces the fact that not everyone looks at body image the same. Who's to say what the "perfect" body type is? It is different for everyone and no matter what size, there is someone out there that can love you for you and whatever size you are will be "perfect" for them. I also think it's funny that the big, bad characters fall so hard. I love the way Jenika Snow writes and makes it feel so real to me. Thank you for another wonderful book! BTW, poor Luke needs someone! I hope the next won lets him get his HEA.

Another really cute story I loved that she actually punched that brain dead bimbo most girls pull hair or scratch with there nails when they fight so I loved that she just decked her that was epic ... ;) I am loving this series and the spin off series as well they are simply fantastic feel good reads .. :)

I really enjoyed reading Ford's story. Things really changed for Ford and it was fun watching him try to sort things out. Talia was a great girl, it was too bad she had to be around Mina. Talia was so sweet and protective of her brother. Great story I am looking forward to reading Bram's story.

This was a hot sweet story and although it was a novella it didn't seemed rushed
loved the characters and the connection between them
nevertheless, as I am a lover of full novels, a bit more time would have made it spectacular
