About the author

International bestselling author Laura A. Barnes fell in love with writing in the second grade. After her first creative writing assignment, she dreamt of becoming an author. Many years went by with Laura filling her head full of story ideas and some funny fish songs she wrote while fishing with her family. In 2017, she made her dreams a reality. With her debut novel Rescued By the Captain, she has set out on the path of a published author.​

When not writing, Laura can be found devouring her favorite romance books. Laura is married to her own Prince Charming (who for some reason or another thinks the heroes in her books are about him) who she enjoys traveling with and binging shows on streaming services. Well written, full of intrigue, steam, revenge, romance, drama, twists and turns. Has a great storyline/plot with returning characters as well as new ones. All are well developed and strong. Addison and Sterling meet up at Grayson and Eve's wedding. He demands that she dance with him and only him. As always this starts out as a don't touch me and you will never have me but as the book goes on her feelings have changed as well as his. Lots of hot steamy scenes between them. Add another woman with revenge on her mind, can the trust be restored after the betrayal, will need to read to find out. Once you start this book , it's hard to stop. Would recommend this book and other one in this series.

I have long enjoyed reading Laura Barnes, historical romance novels, and now I’m realizing what a tremendous talent she has for writing contemporary as well! I thoroughly enjoyed Sterling and Addison’s love/hate relationship that grew into a passionate love affair. The dialogue and very clever and delightful banter between the two was an absolute delight to partake in. Wonderful storyline with two powerful families coming together in a business collaboration, and an evil doer trying to sabotage the whole venture. Loved every minute of the gorgeous, arrogant CEO , and his feisty, outspoken seductress!

So good! Addison Mitchell and Sterling Harrison met through a business deal. Talk about sparks flying! The air crackled around them and in this story, they do something about it. They begin an affair that ends up taking them places they never expected. Meanwhile, there are business conflicts, secrets, sabotage and acts of revenge. This story is hot and steamy, and oh so endearing. Emotional barriers are broken, trust develops and two intense people find the love of their lives. Loved it!.

I would have liked this book better if I had read the first book of the series. It started slow, but ended OK. I don't feel the need to read the 3rd book.

A very well-written book with a great plot. If you like a book full of steamy sexy encounters this is the book for you! Found it to be a very enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next book!
