Although this is a very comprehensive and inclusive introduction to Stoicism, I still think that going to the sources (e.g. Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, and Seneca primarily) would be a better way to ease yourself into this philosophy. Gourinat refers to a lot of other philosophers and really delves deeply into stoic philosophy, which can be confusing. So even though the book itself is very short, it is not an easy read. I would still recommend it for anyone who has gone through the primary sources and would like to synthesize their knowledge on the subject.

Çok zorlanarak okuduğum bir kitap oldu. Gördüğüm en kötü çevirilerden biriydi. Kendi ana dilimde bir metin okumaktan ziyade şifreli cümlelerden anlam çıkarmaya çalışır gibi zorlana zorlana kitabın sonunu getirdim. Bu haliyle okunabilecek bir kitap değil. Kimsenin bu zulme katlanmasını tavsiye etmem.

Very good introduction to Stoicisme, although it's an old study. The division in chapters is very succesfull, characteristic and essential, focusing on the really important philosophical subjects. I liked the chapter on Stoic Sympathy, to which I return sometimes, and read again.
