The author, a Slav specialist, attempts to provide a detailed analysis of the opening, variation by variation, suggesting numerous improvements in key lines. Glenn Flear became a Grandmaster in 1987. He represented England at the Dubai Olympiad in l986.

In this book Glenn Flear presents the Slav by going over games related to the opening variations. There is a good amount of verbal explanations, but there are also sections of the games that have no annotations or just sample lines are given.
