The Seven Archangels, Guardians to Earth, have lost touch with the human realm, dwelling in the Third Sphere and watching over the earth from afar...until Raphael the Healer must help a human woman transition into an Angel and all hell breaks loose.
Archangel Rafe:
Angelina Guerisse has too many responsibilities, kids, sister, grandmother, an ex-husband, and not enough time. The only respite from her overwhelming life is in her dreams with a stunningly hot angel. But when the angel from her dreams shows up in real life, claiming she is descended from a line of matriarchal healers and possesses a rare healing gift, she's not interested in another obligation.
Raphael, the Archangel of Healing, has a problem. He lusts after an intriguing and totally off limits Angel. Every moment he spends with Angelina is an exercise in torture and getting the overworked, hard-headed Angelina to accept her destiny proves harder than anticipated….
Until an unexpected threat puts both the Angelic Realm and the Earth in jeopardy. But will it be too late?

***************** Fans of Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Archangel series and Cynthia Eden's Angel series might enjoy this new series from Lisa Hughey. The Seven is a paranormal romance series featuring the Seven Archangels from the Angelic Realm and their scorching hot attraction to forbidden Angels.
USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa Hughey started writing romance in the fourth grade. That particular story involved a prince and an engagement. Now, she writes about strong heroines who are perfectly capable of rescuing themselves and the heroes who love both their strength and their vulnerability. She pens romances of all types—suspense, paranormal, and contemporary—but at their heart, all her books celebrate the power of love.
She lives in Cape Ann Massachusetts with her fabulously supportive husband, two out of three awesome mostly-grown kids, and one somewhat grumpy cat.
Yoga, hiking, and traveling are her favorite ways to pass the time when she isn’t plotting new ways to get her characters to fall in love.
3.5 stars Archangel Rafe is a good story with a refreshing heroine. Angelina is a thirty something single mom. She has two kids, an ex-husband who is driving her crazy and her grandmother is in poor health and is declining rapidly.
Raphael is one of the Seven Archangels and his job is to let Angelina know she is to take her grandmother's place as an angel healer. Raphael is not happy with this task. He is tired of humans and wants nothing to do with them. His only desire is to ascend to the next level where he will never have to deal with humans again. He needs this assignment with Angelina to be successful to meet his goal.
Nothing goes according to plan. Angelina doesn't want another responsibility in her life and Raphael finds himself drawn to this woman despite his better wishes. An unexpected threat sends them off on an adventure that shakes up both of their worlds.
I really enjoyed this story. It was refreshing to have a heroine who was not the typical 20 year old virgin. It was easy to identify with Angelina and her concerns and problems. Raphael was interesting to watch as he struggled with his emotions and fears. Both characters were likable as were the side characters. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the other Six in future stories. The book had the right amount of both adventure and sexy moments. It was a creative world the author built and I think it will be well received by fans of paranormal romance. This was my first time reading this author and I am now definitely a fan.
The only reason it has 4 stars instead of 5 is that, well, I'm not really sure. It was well written. It did get a little slow in parts, but that was all necessary information, and it never felt like an info dump. The characters were engaging and interesting. I never wanted to yell at them or throw the book against the wall. Which happens fairly often in other books. Overall it was an interesting plot and a good read.
This kind of stories when Archangels and human meet and interact with each other is my favorite kind of stories. This book is exciting and a pageturner. It's the first book of what I supposed to be seven cause she has chosen to work with The Seven Archangels. Looking forward to the next in the serie.
This is the second time I've read this book. The first time, it failed to catch my attention. This time I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to find out about Uri and Norah. I recommend more vigilant editing. The grammar is often scary poor. Great plots!
The first half of the book was like all the raging hormones and then there was suddenly a pretty decent plot, the order of which would have been much better reversed. However, the main characters were not engaging enough.
This was a very entertaining story with some unusual twists, and a very satisfying outcome. The usual "heavenly rule" against angels consorting with human women was a part of the dynamics, but Rafe (Raphael, the Archangel of Healing) was still able to fall in love and even win approval for the relationship and the woman. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it, so basically I read it straight through. The girl Rafe chose to be with was on her way to evolving into an "earth angel" - a kind of "angel helper" - an idea I haven't encountered in books of this type before. The plot was exciting, with sufficient conflict and doubtful outcomes to make it worth reading to the end. Great story!
a nice introduction to a sexy group of warrior men ..I mean archangels.. and their love stories. The heroine was easy to identify with. Finalizing a divorce. dealing with teenagers. Stressed out and temporarily low on self esteem. But as the story develops her inner strength is revealed making her a perfect fit for our hero. The mythology was clear The sex scenes complimented the love story. Looking forward to the other guys' stories.
So I read this book as part of the Wicked Hot Reads collection. I don't believe I'd previously read this author or even heard of her. (Sorry!)
I was actually kind of impressed with this book...it had a very interesting concept. Not so sure how I really felt about it, but I must admit that I did enjoy it!
Would I read the next in the series? Yes. I would. I would really like to know what happened with the rest of the seven.
I enjoyed the premise, but I found the book to be a bit rushed. I saw where the author was going, I just felt as though she skipped to the logical destinations rather quickly and with little to no preamble. Also, who/what is Carus? Rafe just starts calling the MC this and it isn't explained...unless I missed it.
Will I read the next one? Doubt it; it's actually shorter than this one, so I can only imagine how rushed the plot will be
3.5 stars really. I liked the story. I'm curious to see how future books play out. My only peeve was the medicinalness and holisticalness of some of the descriptions. The cleaning of the blood, repairing of the organs and all of the chakra talk left something to be desired - at least for me. Though because I am curious I most likely will read the next book.
Couldn't put it down!! Read it in one sitting...another take on the whole angle/human relationship and it was fantastic!! I love this author anyway so I'm always looking for stuff by her. Not a disappointment at all!
This is the first book I've read by this authors and I loved it. It was well written with characters that I could relate to. Will definitely be reading more books by this author.
I didn't enjoy it and I'm sad that I didn't. I just hated the main characters and when that happens you know hope is lost. The premise was okay and it was executed fairly well.
