This is a very concise, well-written story for older children and young women about a woman who exceeded a great deal for the world but who, unfortunately, even with the several books out there about her still is not all that well known. One of the things she discovered was the harm that pesticides do to animals, fish, birds and humans. She also wrote and did many discoveries in the seas and was well ahead of her time for women and success in the world. It is hard to believe that this was only in the 1960's.
