Lustmord: Anatomy of a Serial Butcher

Rate this book
IT NEVER RAINS IN PORN VALLEY. WHEN IT DOES IT POURS. THIS TIME IT'S BLOOD.

Discharged by the army for being mentally unfit, he parlays his modest disability benefits into a portfolio worth half a million. To avoid paying taxes, he purchases a house in a rundown San Fernando Valley neighborhood, converts it into a church, and declares himself bishop.

He recruits psychologically troubled transients and former mental patients to create his 'staff and board members' who are kept, for the most part, locked away in a basement holding cell.
As a way of luring victims to what is essentially a cellar-turned abattoir, he promotes a rep for being generous with his cash and drugs. He further adds to the scheme by investing in a classic Rolls-Royce and a brand spanking new Cadillac.
He tops off this vehicle collection by buying a van he 'christens' the Meat Wagon.

Should you hop in for a ride, be prepared to fight for your life. If he hauls you back to his House of Horrors, you'll be begging him to end it.

I really didn't enjoy this. I'm quite good with horror but this is just horror porn, a whole different thing. It's no wonder the book drove the author to the brink! Very disturbing and I don't think I'll read any more.

Lustmord: anatomy of a serial butcher by kirk Alex.
Cecil Omar Biggs is not your average man of the cloth. By day, he appears to be a hardworking preacher, but once night descends upon the quiet Southern California neighborhood where Biggs resides, his darker self emerges. Living a double life as a sex fiend and brutal murderer, he enjoys luring innocent victims into his basement lair by any means possible. Converting an old house into a church, Biggs becomes the perfect wolf in sheep’s clothing, which also puts him in the ideal position to attract his unsuspecting prey.
Good read with good characters. Although a long book I got through it. He was sick. But I had to read on. 4*. Netgalley and weaponry co-op.

I have to say that this is the worst book that I have ever read. I had to force myself to keep reading it because it was so disturbing. It even gave me nightmares.

There are very few books out there that start as they mean to go on as much as this one; it’s brutal from the get go and slides further into a frenzied depravity page by page. Cecil, the protagonist, shines out from the pages. A truly modern anti-hero, psychologically disturbed from a young age, his emerging character brilliantly captured in the first few chapters. You won’t want to cheer him on, but if you give your darkside free-reign and let Cecil’s world take over while reading, you will not be disappointed. It is a disturbing, visceral journey Cecil takes as he gradually sheds what little humanity he has as a child and becomes one of the most well written monsters in modern slasher-fiction. It is a real pleasure to see a character not fighting against his terrible nature, not antagonising or trying to understand and change but embracing it with gusto. A real measure of the quality of the book is how Cecil gradually transmutes over time into the true victim of the novel, a product of a society where it is what you have that matters and the losers and the never haves are abandoned to fate.
Kirk Alex writes with a rare flair for the genre, think Stephen King’s evil cousin on a sleep deprived crack binge. It would be so easy, given the subject matter, for the novel to develop into simple exploitation, blood, guts and gore just for the sake of it, but thankfully Alex avoids this trap. There is an underlying morality hidden within its pages, even at it it’s most amoral - cause and effect, pleasure and pain, actions and consequences, and, a wider vision of a society gone so terribly wrong. The book can be hard to read at times, the violence is graphic to a point of making the reader almost want to stop, but you find yourself having to keep turning the pages in a warped voyeuristic desire to see what happens next. The warning Alex gives in the preface is not overstated, this is not a book for the timid or easily offended. For those who can take it, it is more than worth the effort. It is a thoroughly bleak exploration into the darkest depths of a damaged Human soul. I am certainly looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series.

I love horror movies and a good serial killer, so when I came across this book for less than a dollar I had to read it. I was very impressed; this could definitely be a big hit horror movie. The authors writing style keeps the book flowing nicely, and he absolutely didn't skimp on all the scary gory details!

Cecil Omar Biggs' psychological journey is beyond disturbed, after an intense, sad, filled with horror childhood, Cecil starts his own twisted life style by using a front as a "United Christian Church of Re-newed Hope" as a cover to house other mentally disturbed people, as well as a basement of horrors!

Any and all horror genre fans will be hooked with this twisted story!

Lustmord is a series of horrific thrillers centred around Cecil.....probably one of the most depraved characters I've come across and I mean that in a good way. As a horror writer myself, I was sucked into this dark deranged world and then spat out the other end breathless and wanting more!. Cecil is a hybrid of every animal like killer you've heard about all mingled into one frighteningly real character who will give you nightmares for weeks. If you like horror, you have to read this series...if you dare!

This was a respite from some of the other books I've read lately. I wanted something pretty mindless, yet slasher-style, and I found it with this. I am looking forward to reading the others in this series, although that will come after I read a few other books now. I will also look for other books by this author.

Couldn't finish as my download from Goodreads wouldn't show past chapter 6. What I read was good.
