Olivia’s best friend is not imaginary. He’s not a ghost, either. And she’s pretty sure he’s not a hallucination. He’s just Mason.

He is, however, invisible.

When Olivia spotted the crying little boy on her front porch at five years old, she had no idea she was the only one who could see him. Twelve years later when new-girl Robin bumps into the both of them and introduces herself to Mason, they are both stunned.

Mason couldn’t be more pleased that someone else can see him. Olivia, on the other hand, isn’t jumping at the chance to welcome Robin into their circle. Jealousy may have something to do with that, but honest fear that Robin’s presence will put Mason in danger is soon validated when a strange black car shows up outside Olivia’s house. The race to find out what Robin knows in time to protect Mason from whatever threats are coming becomes Olivia’s only focus.

This is probably my all time favorite story. Not kidding!! I absolutely loved the story line. It makes me want to talk to kids who have imaginary friends... Just to see what they say. LOL

This book was honestly outstanding and breathtaking to me. The plot was a roller coaster ride – from intriguing to awe-inspiring and back again. The characters were well developed and so engaging.

Who thinks of ideas like these?? Not me, that’s for sure. The creativity to write something like this astounds me. I am already a huge fan of Gladden’s but this completely blew me away. I don't know why certain books make me feel so strongly, I'm not creative enough or, apparently, insightful enough to know. However, it is so rare for me to feel this way about a book. I can honestly say there is maybe 2 other books that I've read where I was blown away like this. Don't get me wrong, I have about 30 favorite books - but this one blows 97% of those out of the water. I loved every minute of this story.

I have to say the first few lines did me in... "My best friend is not imaginary. He's not a ghost, either. And I'm pretty sure he isn't a hallucination. He's just Mason. He is, however, invisible." That was it, I was hooked. So creative!! This story was wonderfully thrilling and completely delightful to my very UNcreative mind. Again, who thinks of these things?? I loved the idea of it all. crazy good.

Other awesome things about this story - the emphasis on family is truly remarkable. I simply adore Olivia's family for what they did. This story had so much "secret-keeping" that it's wonderful to get the overall feeling of how important honesty and communication are to the characters. And then there's Mason & Olivia... Surprisingly, I didn't find myself falling in love with Mason. Instead, I found that I loved how he loved Olivia. I'm not saying he isn't swoon-worthy. It’s just that everything about these two is just so darn sweet and real that I couldn't separate his character from hers very much in order to fall for him. I love my book boyfriends and Gladden sure knows how to make me swoon (ie Braden in The Destroyer trilogy) but in this story I was too in love with the love between Mason and Olivia to fall for him fully. They are a package deal. And I love them even more for that. It was just so darn delectable. I can't get over it... sigh…

I can’t say much more about this story because thankfully Gladden left out a lot in her summary and I would hate to ruin the story for others. Read this!! I promise you won’t be disappointed. So very innovative – I’ve never read anything even remotely similar to this before. Absolutely amazing story!!

Invisible is the first installment in The Aerling Series and it is an awesome series. Once you read Invisible you can't wait to read Intangible.
Mason is invisible and he is not imaginary. Only Olivia is able to see him. They met when both were five years old. Olivia found Mason sitting on her porch crying (feels sad for him, I can picture his sad adorable face). She takes him in and asks her parents, they approve obviously thinking he is imaginary. But after some incidents they accepts him with open arms.
A new girl Robin stumbles upon them and introduces herself to both of them, yes both of them. She can see Mason, which leave both of them stunned. Mason is happy someone besides his family can see him. On other hand Olivia is not ready to believe the new girl. They both want answers, but they were not prepared to dive head first into the world of Aerlings, Caretakers, Escorts and dangerous Sentinels who are now after Mason for his life.
Sentinel attacks, searching for answers which are hard to find with Mason having nightmares which could be true, their world is turned is upside down.
The story is great, I'm glad I stumbled upon it and fell, don't worry not hurt. If you haven't read, you are missing out. You can find the story on Wattpad and it is free so get going.
A great, awesome, intriguing, thrilling and a must read.

This started my second series by this author. After reading the Destroyer trilogy, I was intrigued to see what else this author could do. Sad to say, I was not as invested in this book.

The premise is interesting but I had a really hard time getting into both the characters and the plot. Perhaps it's because we (the readers) are learning as the characters are, but it was difficult for me to get interested when I felt like I was just plodding along with no clue of what was happening. I'm sure this is how Olivia and Mason felt, however, they are actually living it so it works for them. As a reader, where plots need to develop and move quickly, this style was not successful for me.

Rather than focusing on the world of Aerlings, Sentinels, Caretakers, and Escorts, this first book really seemed to focus more on the relationship between Olivia and Mason. Great, you may think, except that while I want some romance in my book, I'm not a teenage and this type of angsty (and sorry to offend any teenagers, but stupid) teenage "love" often just comes across as childish and peurile. Sorry, but I just have a really hard time believing that teenagers have the maturity (especially when there are so many other things going in their life) to really understand adult love, the kind that will get you through marriage, kids, careers, old age, etc. The constant "I love you's" between Olivia and Mason got a little annoying.

I will say though that I stayed with this series and read the second one, Intangible, and I'm glad that I did. I will review that one as well, but that really ties the whole plot much better and essentially had more of a plot than this one did.

I wonder if this book had an editor. Because while some of my review is simply just my own opinion, I've also read enough books that I think an editor (or a better one) would have agreed with me and helped to make this book more solid. It reads like an Aerling--concepts and plot ideas thrown here and there with no real cohesion. The ingredients are all there, but not quite baked into a cupcake yet. Also, the typo mistakes are awful ("too" instead of "two" for example) and frequent. Typos and grammar mistakes are something I've noticed in this author's other works as well.

One final comment: I believe these books are priced appropriately on Amazon, which is where I got mine. All of her books that I've gotten from Amazon are under $5.00, which is appropriate for the length of these books. Also, considering that many of her books are trilogies, which so far have all ended on a cliffhanger, I really appreciate that her books are priced so that you can keep reading the next one in the series without breaking your budget.

Mason & Olivia

gif

The writing style was absolutely GREAT. Flawless really. I clinged to every word and felt the depth of the story. I'd have to say my reason for not giving it 4 stars like I wanted to was the premise. Which even though was SERIOUSLY really good grated on my nerves a couple times good- Occurrences that made me really angry because I felt for the characters THAT much. I will be reading the other books in the series simply because I love Mason and I need to know what happens. You can't predict it, that's what I like about it. You're just left in so many webs that leave you unsure of what's going to happen next.

I don't particularly like Olivia, I have to say she pissed me off mostly. Mason likes her though, so I like her like 20% even if she did annoy the crap out of me some of the time. She did prove how much she cared, to some extent AND! If Olie isn't the cutest nickname ever ever ever ever ever! ugh. So cute. Loved. Much.

Overall great story, I say it should be a movie. I'd totally watch

Ahh fuck it! I just gave it four stars <3

I started reading this book because I was on a reading slump toward all the books I had with me, so I went to Wattpad and this caught my curiosity and I endend up really liking it!! This story is absolutely cpativating and interesting ( if you are into powers and other planets people and the unknown and all that stuff ). I loved Mason and Olivia, they where perfect and their relationship was just beautiful. Everything about the Aerling's is just so interesting and I couldn't get enough of this story. I want more. Great book.

Browsing through the books I have never came across this type of books, as I am not really big fan of them, but this book... it showed me that I am missing loads by not reading them.

This book opens my imagination, reading it makes me feel like I live with the each character in book. Every event and outcome is so greatly plotted that it makes me want to read more and more. I am just glued to this story.

Can't wait to read more!

There I was with 25 books in my currently reading list and 10 TBR books in my room. I was in a bit of a slump so I took to wattpad. The first couple of stories I read were so bad but then I came across this perfect little thing after looking through a Goodreads list.

I was a little wary when I saw the cover on Wattpad but the first bit of the synopsis grabbed my attention.

"Olivia's best friend is not imaginary. He's not a ghost either. And she's pretty sure he's not a hallucination. He's just Mason"

First of all, DelSheree Gladden did a brilliant job with this story. She struck the perfect balance with information known to the reader and the suspenseful unknown. I never felt out of the loop. It was almost as if I was with the characters every step of the way and was learning everything alongside them.
[I also like how she didn't just dive into the characters' physical descriptions but smoothly fit it in. Most books spend forever about the way a character looks that you feel bored. But I liked hearing about what Olivia looked like from Mason and vice-versa]

Hayden:
I thought I was going to hate Hayden. I'm almost sure that he could be 2% evil. But by the end of the book, I didn't even care if he is. If this series turns out to be a little lot different and she ends up with someone else (*wink*), then I'd be fine with it.

So both leading boys (kind of leading) have got my vote. I'm not picking favorites but maybe.... nah.. I'm not picking favorites.....
*cough* Mason *cough*

Mason was my favorite character. He's so likable. I have to say, I want to read more about him and his family! I don't want to say more about him in fear of spoiling something.
I'll just do with saying I've got a soft spot for him. Poor guy doesn't even know how he compares to other boys his age.

In a nutshell

This was actually pretty alright. I was sure that I'd be let down but ended up being pleasantly surprised. For a wattpad novel, this had pretty good grammar and dialogue.
The romance, as always, was annoying.

What's not o like about this incredible book???

I mean, for one thing, the whole thing is free on Wattpad, making it one of the few good books on there that also hs nothing to do with one direction or werewolves.

But then there's the fact that it's incredibly AMAZING! It's a definite page-turner.... Be prepared for some sleepless nights while hooked on this. Not the best idea to start this during the week of final exams or something.... Yeah, studying wont happen.

The characters are amazingly developed, and the storyline is smooth and fast. There are no dull moments, just the perfect amount of action and romance. Comedy too, even. It reminds me of sort of a cross between Harry Potter and Divergent.... Just like Harry, this is a new world for Mason and his family, and danger follows him after he learns of what he is. But then the style kind of reminds me of Divergent for some reason. Idk. Anyway, it really is an incredibly unique storyline, it just gave me the same joy as those series! :p

Anyway, the while time I could NOT stop thinking about how generous this author was to offer the whole first book on Wattpad. This could easily have been a best seller series that we have to pay a ton of money for and wait ages for the next installment (which, for the record, I wouldn't be against doing). No, instead we can read Invisible on Wattpad, get Intangible for free by reviewing the first one, and read Invincible on Wattpad while she's in the process of writing it, if we get the chance to. This is one incredibly generous author, in my opinion!!

Anyway, if you're trying to find something new to read.... This is for you. I strongly encourage you to read it. And I'll be telling all my friends to do so, too ;)

So there are two main reasons as to why i'm inclined to write this review..
1. The main one being i would love to get book 2 &
2. I just had to do my first review on a book that i will always remember..

This is undoubtedly the most enticing novel i have read in months!
I haven't had the strings of my heart tugged by a book in quite some time & i do say i thoroughly enjoyed every minute & moment spent reading this book.
As for the author of this book, i appreciate every aspect you tried to capture and the essence of which you captivated the perspective of both Mason & Olivia.. It was simply superb in its simplicity.

Awesome concept.

Summary:

Olivia's best friend is not imaginary. He's not a ghost, either. And she's pretty sure he's not a hallucination. He's just Mason.

Just Mason. If only there were anything 'just' about him. At five years old, Olivia spotted a little boy on her front porch. He was alone and crying. And she was the only person who could see him.

Mason is invisible.

It took the rest of her family a few years to realize Mason was more than an imaginary friend--aided by a few flying objects and/or people to bring them around to the idea--but now he is a legitimate part of her family. One Olivia could never imagine being apart from. After all, she's taken care of Mason since she was five. Who else could do it better?

Everything seemed set in stone to the two teenagers … until new girl Robin bumps into them. When she introduces herself to Mason, time seems to stop.

Though Mason is happy to make a new friend--someone outside of his family circle--Olivia is not as welcoming. With Robin's arrival, she learns a little bit more about jealousy than she had ever had to deal with before. Again, she's never had to share Mason before.

Her suspicions are kicked into full overtime, however, when a mysterious car appears outside of her house. Now, it's high time that Robin does some talking. Or else Mason may not be the only one at risk.

Characters:

Olivia is a happy teenager. She's okay with being the 'weird' girl at school and the nightly comforter of a traumatized Mason. Despite the quirks her family has, she wouldn't change one bit of it. Especially Mason. From the age of five years old, they have hardly ever been apart. Olivia prefers to keep it that way. Even when her dad asks the surprising question, "What will Mason do when you go to college?" Olivia has only one answer, "Come with me." There was never a doubt in her mind that she and Mason would stay best friends forever.

Things change. Threats abound and Olivia has to learn to roll with the (several) punches. Between her jealousy over Robin and her worry for Mason's safety, Olivia edges into darker territory from the happy teen she was in just the beginning.

As far as her personality, I have to say that she's a little bland. One of the other characters makes a remark about her in the book that I think actually pretty much sums her up. To paraphrase: she was always just happy being left to herself.

This, of course, meaning she was always happy by herself only because she always had Mason. She didn't need anyone else. And that pretty much sums it up. Without Mason, Olivia doesn't even know who she is, really. She is his protector. His family. His caretaker. Nothing else matters, except for Mason. And that's before she realizes she's in love with him.

Mason is the moodier one of the two. His whole life he has had to be hidden without contact outside of Olivia's family. With no one other than Olivia able to hear or see him from across a room, it's a life that could lead to a lot of frustration. Lately, for him, it's been piling up. Especially since Olivia is so oblivious as to how desperately he loves her, and there are other guys trying to slide in and make their move.

With nightmares from the past meshing with fears of the future, Mason is constantly plagued with bad dreams. Some of which prove to be more prophetic than he could hope for. And all of which can be explained by the pretty new girl whom Olivia seems determined to hate.

This book being a dual narrative of both Mason and Olivia, I have to say that their voices were so similar, it was very hard to tell his from hers. What I admired most about Mason, though, was the fact that there was no 'maybe I like her, maybe I don't' with him. Right away, the reader knows how Mason feels about her, and it's actually Olivia who doesn't even think about him in that way. It's refreshing, really.

Robin was irritating. She's vague on the details she gives, a chatterbox on the ones that don't matter, and a downright pain in the arse for most of the book. But she belongs. Typically, the role of informant is given to a more sage-like character with all the widow and knowledge of their age. This is not so in Invisible. Here, you get Robin. That's it. No one brilliant, smart, witty, or wise. Just Robin.

And it actually makes the story work. It's believable. She's the one that puts Mason in danger, but she's also the only one that can give them answers about what Mason is. Despite her own past mistakes, she's doing everything in her power to help Mason. Not just because she thinks he's hot, but because it is her duty as a Caretaker. This is her last chance to get it right, and she's not about to fail again.

Evie was great. At three years old, Evie was the first to admit that Mason was more than her sister's imaginary friend. Growing up with Mason for the past twelve years, now she admits that he is the epitome of the perfect man--and makes a point to open her sister's eyes to that fact. Evie is spunky and passionate, with a fiery temper to match. She has no problems with confrontation, and she's willing to take on anyone to protect her family. This girl was a lot of fun to read about, though sometimes I kept thinking she was younger than fifteen.

Mr. and Mrs. Mallory (aka the Parents) were an incredible addition to the story. Now, a lot of YA novels suffer from quite a few things: lack of parents, lack of realistic responses to life-threatening situations, and a general lack of common sense in general. This book breaks all of the barriers. For one: the parents are involved. In everything. From schoolwork, to family meals, to calling the cops when shit hits the fan. They do everything they can to protect their kids, making them some of the best parents (and sometimes only) to grace YA fiction. Plus, you get a genuine connection between them and the kids. It's not that they exist just to exist. There are real and realistic conversation that take place and there is a legitimate respect for them as responsible adults.

Plot & Setting:

I have no idea where this story took place. Nor do I care. Despite the lack of details: I can see Mason's bedroom perfectly. I can see Olivia's bedroom perfectly. The house, the yard, the front porch, the park, the neighborhood… Nothing in this book was described. Yet I saw it all as clear as day. How the hell does that even happen?

The plot was one of the best part of the whole book. For Olivia and her family, life with an invisible boy in the house has been normal for twelve years. Only now, when the great threat of college looms on the horizon, do things start to go downhill. One girl brings them all the answers, and all of the problems as a cost.

I truly enjoyed the entire concept of the plot. Granted, there were some things that felt contrived, a little forced, or served as fluff material, but none of it truly detracted from the reading experience and it all somehow worked well together to form an original and enjoyable book.

Writing Style:

Again, first person narration between Mason and Olivia was hard to differentiate between. They were both clever, independent, and worried young teenagers. If it weren't for what they experienced while apart, you might never know that this was a dual narration novel. So there is that fact.

There were enough errors to notice in the book, but not enough to make you care. With a good editor and maybe a strong rewrite, this novel could easily be fantastic.

The overall tone here was light, despite the content; meaning there weren't too many darker nuances here. I'm not sure how to describe it really, but it's almost as if the scenes where your adrenaline should be going just fall flat. For the feel of it, this is almost more of a contemporary romance as opposed to a paranormal thriller. Which is why I say that, with a stronger rewrite, it could maybe have found a more perfect balance between the two, which is what I think the book was trying to do.

Overall Opinion:

I enjoyed this book. I do plan on continuing the series. There are pretty much no complaints from me as this had an incredible concept and I'm curious to see how it expands into the next two books.

(I'm writing this review at 1:30 in the morning, I apologize for any mistakes)

4.5

I really, really want to give this book the full 5 stars it probably deserves, but the grammar mistakes prevent me from doing so. This book is littered with your/you're and there/their/they're mistakes. Not enough that I stopped reading, but enough where I started keeping a tally.

Grammar mistakes aside, I loved the plot and the characters (though Robin annoyed me a little). The plot is like nothing I've never read before. I absolutely adore Mason and Olivia and I totally ship them...#Malivia? I've read paranormal stories before, but "invisible boy" almost always ends up being some sort of spirit or ghost. So, the fact that Mason was an Aerling, is a nice change of things.

With a bit more editing, I think this book could turn out really, really cool. I definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a "different" sort of paranormal romance story.

More than anything, Invisible is a sweet love story. Olivia has been best friends with Mason since she was five-years-old and found him crying in her front yard. She invites him to play, not realizing that he is invisible to everyone but her. When she asks her parents if her new friend can spend the night, they say yes, thinking their daughter has an imaginary friend. But Mason is not imaginary. This realization comes as quite a shock when Olivia’s parents finally realize there’s an extra child in the house, but lucky for Mason, he is welcomed into Olivia’s loving family. Now in their senior year, the relationship between Mason and Olivia has started to change. Mason is in love with Olivia, but Olivia thinks of Mason as a sibling.

The introduction of a new girl at school is the catalyst that causes Olivia to rethink her relationship with her best friend. Robin can also see Mason, and provides new information about who he is, uncovering the secrets of his tragic past. With this revelation comes a terrifying threat that will put Mason, Olivia, and their family at risk. To protect each other and their family, Olivia and Mason must make heart-wrenching choices that could cost them their love and their lives.

I loved this book. The relationship between Mason and Olivia is sweet and romantic. They are both engaging characters, and the bond between them is magical. The book is full of thrilling twists and turns, some of them horrifying. I found I couldn’t stop reading because I was immersed in the story’s world and terrified about what would become of the characters. Gladden is a skilled writer, and has created an exciting, fast-paced read with memorable characters. The ending is a cliff-hanger that kicked me in the gut and left me wanting more. I’m excited to read the second book and find out what happens next.

Honestly, at first I was skeptical about this book, what with the invisible concept and all.. However, I did want a change from the usual genre of books I read so I gave it a try. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Started this book as a short night read before bed but ended up reading till 4 am! I only stopped because my eyes were burning. You could say I loved everything about the book and its dynamics but the ultimate shining star for me was definitely the relationship between the characters, especially Mason and Olivia. Their relationship is just SO precious and heart-warming, I cannot get enough of it. It is portrayed to catch the readers so strongly, you cannot help but be in love with their love.

This books is perfect for ALL human beings; anyone who just wants to rejoice the feeling of love. Mason and Olivia's love is true and gripping.. It will make you think about it again and again and still warm your heart again and again - as fervently as the first time. As for myself, I will keep this book close to my heart, and follow the next installments with utmost devotion.

Holy cow! I don't even know how to start this review then with the words wow!
This is probably one of the best books I've read in a really long time. I was scrolling through Wattpad when I stumbled upon Invisible and I never put it down! I read it in 2 days.
I loved how I was sucked into the book right away. I felt so connected to Olivia and Mason and reading about their love and all that they went through put me on a roller coaster of emotions. I could relate to the characters so well which made the reading that much more enjoyable. There were twists and dangers and adorable Mason and Olivia moments that made me never want to stop reading. I can't wait to read Intangible and learn what happens next in Evie, Robin, Olivia, and Mason's spectacular journey!
Great book!

I am just in love with this story. It was well written, and it pulled me in. I love when a story does that! The characters were believe-able. The story had its funny moments that I found myself laughing out loud, and there were parts that I could of cried when somethings were revealed. Dont want to give anything away though! You have to read it to see for yourself.

I was just randomly reading this book after I googled for interesting books on wattpad and I've been hooked to it ever since then. I couldn't imagine I would become so obsessed with such a book. The author is a real genius with the plots and the rollercoaster of raw emotions she got all the readers feeling was amazing. I'm so into fantasy books and it has been a long time since I've read one, and I'm privileged to have read this book. In the book I love how mason and olivia care so much about each other and how olivia finally starts to accept robin knowing she had her share of ups and downs. Writing such a book is kinda hard coming up with theories and stuff about invisibility but throughout we all were pleased as the story progressed. I just hope that at the end of the sequel all the good characters lead happy lives, that's all. Thank you author for this great book, loved it.

Thank you DelSheree for writing it. It means a lot to me

Invisible is a haunting journey of a lost soul as he desperately battles to figure out who he is while trying to protect those he loves in the process. This is such a sweet yet fiery story that will steal your heart and take you on quite an adventure. If you keep your mind and your heart open, you will discover mysteries that have been kept well hidden and experience a love that transcends any obstacle.

Olivia can be viewed as the girl next door, but this girl has a secret. She has a friend that only she can see. Mason entered her life when they were 5 years old, and since then he has become part of her family. They wouldn’t have it any other way as they all have come to care for Mason (even if they can’t all see him), and he has never doubted their love and devotion to him. Then, one fateful day, a new student at their high school admits that she can see Mason, and their lives are consequently turned upside down.

I can’t truly express how much I loved watching the deep and tender love develop between Olivia and Mason. They have known each other most of their lives, so they already have a strong bond of friendship that they have come to cherish and appreciate. To watch it grow into something much deeper and more meaningful to both of them was absolutely breathtaking and had me sighing at times. Even though they fight their feelings because they are unsure how the other is feeling, Mason is having a hard time holding back his true feelings for Olivia. He longs to share his entire heart with his best friend, but is Olivia ready to take their relationship to the next level and jeopardize what they have?

While some will disagree with me, I think it is better to love with everything that you are then to never experience it at all. Love is the spice and flavor of life. Otherwise, we walk around with a bland taste in our mouth while a feeling of unknown loss pulls as the outer edges of our mind and hollows out our heart. Even if that love is torn from us viciously or grows cold over the years, we can at least say that we lived a much fuller albeit painful life with it then without it. Without emotions, what is the meaning of our existence? We are nothing if not creatures of emotion. They expand and complete who we are. My heart tells me that it would rather risk the pain and loss that comes with loving fiercely and fully then to deny it and allow my heart to grow bitter and shrivel up from non-use. I desire to be swept off my feet by the impetuousness that is love, have my soul bursting with the passion and fulfillment that comes with risking it all, and allow my heart to be pushed to its extremes revealing all that I am to another.

I was impressed with the emphasis on honesty within the pages of this book. Honesty needs to be present all the time in all circumstances within every relationship otherwise it is worthless. We cannot pick and choose when to use it and expect things to work out. We will unintentionally invite pain and destruction into our lives when we decide that we can’t open up to the people we love. If they can’t trust you, then they will be forced to find one that they can trust. The hurt brought on from deceit is one that settles deep within the heart and it is hard to get rid of. Save yourself all of this heartache and just make a promise to yourself and those you love to always be open and honest with them no matter what. It will make your life so much easier.

Family was another issue that was highlighted from beginning to end. What binds a family together is not just blood. Unconditional love and acceptance is at the heart of what defines a true family. Even among people whose circle you were not born into can love you just as much if not more than those who brought you into this world. In order to maintain and return their unconditional love and acceptance, we must remember to treat each other with respect and sincerity. Never take each other for granted for on that day you will lose each other and your solid foundation will begin to crumble.

DelSheree Gladden is the wonderful artesian of this impressive masterpiece. The heart and soul that she pours into this book is astounding and awe-inspiring. I have found myself smitten with her creation, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I look forward to reading more of her stories if this one is of any indication of how awesome her other ones are.

I stumbled upon this book when I was searching for spellbinding Sci-Fi books to read on Wattpad. To be honest, the title and the cover image caught my attention right away. The way the words were placed in conjunction to the image, for some reason, just compelled me to add the book to my library. Since then, I had been unable to let go of my phone, which I had used to read the story, all the way until the end.

In a nutshell, the book was amazing. As a film student, I love storytelling and personally, I would love to see this book turned into a film. I can actually picture all the angles, the scenes and the pace of the film, and even some of the music! This book just inspires me, and it’s been a while since I have been this inspired.

The book starts off simply, with the words “My best friend is not imaginary. He’s not a ghost, either. And I’m pretty sure he isn’t a hallucination. He’s just Mason.” It was one of the many different things that I thought made this book stand out from others.

Many books struggle to have a riveting opening that hooks readers into completing the book; the simplicity in this book’s beginnings just captures you with ease. It throws you right into the story, and yet, as I read the book, I wasn’t ever confused, because everything is slowly explained in its own time. Mason’s childhood, how he came to live with Olivia’s family, was all elucidated smoothly in the story, not rushed and deposited onto the readers in a huge chunk. This was another element I liked about this book. Too often, writers sought to make all their introductions right at the beginning of the book, and sometimes, it turns readers away instead of drawing them in.

The story is carefully constructed, hinting things (I will not mention what, for I do not want to give the story away) before it happens so the story segues smoothly from one chapter to another. Every speculation seems to set the stage for a future turning point, instead of just piling it into the story, which would have made it seem choppy.

What I loved most about the book, however, was the relationships between all the characters. Olivia’s relationship with her family was very realistically portrayed. I loved that Evie wasn’t a two-dimensional bratty sister, intent on ruining Olivia’s life. And yet she wasn’t a hundred per cent in support of all her sister’s decisions. Evie is perfectly capable of forming her own decisions and judgments regardless of her sister’s opinions. This made her a rounder character with the ability to stand on her own, though she might not have been the main character in the story.

Unlike most teen fiction these days, the main protagonist, Olivia, doesn’t seek to keep everything from her family. She might not have mentioned certain events in the book to her parents, but mostly, she kept them clued in on everything that was going on. This, I found, was more appealing than the tales of a solo heroine who refused to let her family in, in order to protect them.

Her blooming relationship with Mason was also something that I found enthralling. There was no typical “love at first sight” or a sudden “I just realized I loved him”. It happened gradually, which was something that really appeased my inner romantic.

I would like to end my review here, for fear of giving away the story, so on a last note, do grab a copy of Invisible and check it out! It is a beautiful read, with vivid descriptions. Trust me, you will not be able to put this book down once you start!

The story started out in a rather unusual way. “My best friend is not imaginary. He’s not a ghost, either. And I’m pretty sure he isn’t a hallucination. He’s just Mason. He is, however, invisible.”
The first chapter goes on to explain how this “works” in every day life: Mason lives with the main character of the story, Olivia, and her family. They are the only ones who know about Mason’s existence, and have managed to keep him a secret from everyone else for twelve years. The reader can see that over the years Olivia and Mason have found a groove that works for them. They have learned to live with and accept Mason’s uniqueness. However, at the time this book opens, their quiet life is about to be thrown into disorder.
Firstly, Mason has known for some time that his feelings for Olivia surpass hers for him, and he knows that it isn’t long until he has to talk to her about that. But also a new girl turns up at their school, and she can actually see Mason. Together they have to work out what this means and whether she is a friend or a foe.
I felt the first part was a little hard to get through. I didn’t get a strong “feel” for the story until about a third of the way in, when it accelerated in pace and I began to read more comfortably. I recommend that you give this book a try until at least 50%. Before that you won’t have a very good handle on the style of the book.
Essentially Invisible is a teen love story, dealing with the inevitable teenage angst, rivals and misunderstandings. However, the paranormal element adds another level of interest which will hook lovers of sci fi fiction. If you liked Twilight, this one is a definite winner, as it has many of the same combinations, with a little bit of an extra mystery, as no-one knows who or what Mason is, least of all himself.
The characters are believable and well-rounded, even if a little obtuse (well, they are only seventeen). There was a little too much drama (angst) for my liking, but again I don’t think I’m the target audience, and teen readers I’m sure will adore it. The relationship between the two main characters was pretty adorable up until they began to absolutely cling to each other as though they were each other’s oxygen. (Think Twilight). Mason is a wonderful protagonist, cool and calm and interesting. There is a lot about himself that he doesn’t even know yet, and I’m sure more will be revealed in the next book of this series. Perhaps without Olivia distracting him, or clinging to him and begging him not to leave her, he will have a chance to stretch a little. I also think that for fans of science fiction there may be a stronger sci fi feel to the next book, rather than a stress on romance.

I accidently found this book on Wattpad and when I read the summary I knew this book is going to be amazing. And it didn’t dissapoint me. I got hooked after reading the first 4 sentences. How many books can to that?

I fell in love with Mason at the very first page. He is the most interesting character in this book and I absolutely love chapters in his POV. His relationship with Olivia is beautiful and I knew they will be together at the end. I’m really glad that they confessed their feelings to each other, that scene in bathroom was amazing. But I also hated the end SPOILER ALERT! when they had to separate because that is the only way they will be safe. I cried when they were saying goodbye. I actually liked Olivia a lot, I could totally connect with her, especially when she didn’t want to share Mason with anyone. Another character I really liked is Evie. That girl is so amazing. Even though she seemed a bit shallow at the beginning, that really changed later. Her advices for Olivia were great and I loved their relationship. I want a younger sister like her! I hated Robin from the moment she appeared in the book and I didn’t trust her for a second. Yeah, I feel sorry for her because she lost her Aerling and because her parents don’t love her, but I don’t like her anyway, she is so annoying. I also didn’t like Hayden, he was suppose to be a perfect guy but he turned out to be too perfect and I don’t like that. I don’t buy it, he is hiding something. I loved it that Olivia dumped him from her life. Go girl!

I can’t do this review without saying how wonderful DelSheree Gladden writes. Her sentences are so powerful, magical and beautiful, I absolutely enjoyed reading Invisible. I think Invisible is one of the most original books I recently read, it is very well written and it is one of my all time favourite books. It is truly fantastic! I can’t wait to read the second book, Intangible, because there are so much unanswered questions and I need to know what will happen! It’s not fair! I already miss Mason and I want to find out what is going to happen with him on his 18th birthday. I hope he will get to Aerling World and that Olivia will go with him but I have some bad feeling she is going to die. Hopefully I’m wrong. I need more!

Invisible

A 5 year old girl finds a 5 year old guy in front of her home and discover that she is the only one who can see him. She takes upon herself to protect him. But what happens when they meet another girl who can see him and knows a lot about what is Mason. The beautiful life of oiliva comes to halt. Oiliva never thought of living alone without mason in her life. Will she be able to let him go. Will she be able to help mason again. Is she ready to sacrifice herself for mason. Is mason strong enough to hold off oiliva from the danger which is drawing upon them? The questions are answered but not fully answered.. I am eager to read the remaining of the series to find out the answers.

I read this book on wattpad and it's my first wattpad book. I can say I really got lucky to find it on wattpad. The book is just amazing. It's a cliff hanger but still worth it. The writing is good that it will keep you really occupied. If you are expecting lots of magic and power in this part you will be disappointed because this book is only a plot fixer for the forth coming books. It's pretty much teen romance in this part but I am sure lots going to happen in the future books. I am really excited to read the next part.

What's good :

1)The writing style is very good and we get pov of both ollie and mason.
2)The plot deployment is very good and it shows a clear path for good future.
3)The characters are not whinney. I found especially that in most fantasy romance books
4) There is no too much drama. The story is just beautiful

What's bad :
1) cliff hanger (not big deal since it's a book series but I am the impatient reader lol)
2) The book doesn't speak anything about the alien world for which every thing is happening
3) few parts of the book are really unexplained like why mason is hunted by human when he has to go home one day.

Last verdict : I hope the unexplained things will be covered in the next books otherwise this one is just awesome.

This book was moving for me. The story line was excellently written and the plot was entirely thought out. I didn't have any questions in the end of the story, except: "THAT'S IT?!" That is, until I read that there was a sequel and to my delight, there was a sequel to the sequel, if you understand what I mean.

I felt that the characters were carefully described and their feelings as well. I understood their anger, their confusion as well as their happiness. I think my favourite character was none other than one of the main characters, the person I'm speaking about being Olivia.

I also liked the touch of romance thrown into an adventurous type of teen fiction book. Although I did expect that there would be romantic feelings being formed between certain characters (No spoilers who!), I loved how it took time for Olivia to realize that she loved him and not in a sibling type of love. It added an aspect of teenage life that many teenagers feel often, so it was also fairly realistic, well, except the whole science fiction part.

I personally thought that the science fiction aspect to it added to the overall story. After all, the whole background information is practically the base of the story. I admire the author for being able to be creative and create these terms for some of the "special" characters like Mason.

Although I had my doubts when first reading the teaser, I found myself drawn to it and couldn't stop until I finished the story. I started the story late at night yesterday and here I am reviewing it already! I found it hard to put the book down and am thoroughly excited for a sequel.

This is definitely a book worth your time!

I can't imagine having imaginary or invisible friends. The idea of having that and being something you never even knew existed, now that is something. How sucky can it be to be invisible, knowing no one can see you yet you have to exist in this world. Sweet Olivia cared only for Mason even if no one can see him, he was her best friend and love, nothing else mattered. But stupid hunters just have to come and screw up their happy life and tear them apart. They will stop at nothing to get their hands on Mason. But we wonder why? After all, Mason is just an invisible boy isn't it? Or is he not...hmm. This book creeped me out in a certain way but I am still sticking through to the sequel, Intangible.

Mason just found out his possible true identity which makes sense why he suddenly became such a prime target. But not only does he have to protect himself, Olivia and her family are seen as open hostages to get to Mason. And these hunters are just about right, Mason will do anything to keep his family (Olivia's), safe at all cost, even if the price is his life. Now I am trying to find out what happens to him and Olivia in Intangible. I'm sure I am not the only one. :)

Second Edit (17/02/14): I am currently reading the sequel of this book! But I will only add it to my list once i've finished reading it since the addition of chapters does not have a fixed schedule and I'm currently at the end of the latest chapter. Anxiously awaiting for chapter 37 to come out. Please come out soon? ;( I need to know ughhhh.

-What can i say? i absolutely loved reading Invisible, i found it not too long ago and did not even sleep until the end of the book, i was so dissapointed when i saw that the second one was no longer available it is such an amazing book that i have no words to describe how fresh and well written its i loved your characters i felt happy with them and it tear me apart how strong olivia´s emotions were since mason left i was feeling it just as much i even cried . You have an incredible talent that not many have, but surely wish for you should be so proud of yourself for the beautiful story your telling by writing the aerling series and this is my favorite best time story im really grateful i found it even if it was by accident just out of curiosity it was truly breathtaking i was not prepared for the rollercoaster ride that the book put me in i went from happy dances to tears in matter of minutes im still thinking how it is not one of the hot list´s book. Back to the topic, i loved mason and olivia so much when i started reading i was just intrigued not really interested the first chapter was really good but still a little distracted i had an imaginary friend too ans something tol me to keep going and it amazed me it kept getting better and better until i was completely into it hoping for more and now i realized that im really thankful to you for writing and for fate to let me read one of the best books i have read so far.
Sincerely, Marialis savinon

I found this story on wattpad. After a year of reading diffrent stories there, it's hard to find a good one which has good story line, characters that are thought through, and grammar that isn't bad. And I found, everything that I've listed above, in this book! It's amazing how absorbing this story is! When I stared reading it, I just couldn't stop. I've read this book in a few hours! What is more, I've even dreamt about it!
The way the author wrote the characters is special. DelSheree not only described them, but also wrote how the felt in a way that readers could fully understand the characters, and the story. She showed Mason's dilemma and sens of rejection, Evies hard character,Robin's lack of self-esteem and family problems and last but not least Olivias love and commitment for Mason.
What is also important, the unique and original idea for the story. I've never been a big fan of sci-fi, but this book is something different. The story line just captive me in a way that it's rare for other books.
I love the Aerling's story, and after reading "Invisible", I just cannot wait to find out how it will end. Does Mason will be with Olivia? Does Olivi survive sending Mason to his planet? What will happen when Mason get to his planet? I just have to read the books to find out. And I hope to get this opportunity, because it's really hard, or even impossible,to get a copy in my country.
