Looking Out for Lexy

Rate this book
Eighteen years earlier, Lexy Latton and Jack Wyatt fell
hopelessly in love. Their passionate romance was cut short by
misunderstandings and Lexy’s parents, who pushed a
marriage to the local football hero, Tom Kane.

In the present, Lexy, now divorced, meets with Jack, arranged
through a mutual friend. She wants to reveal to Jack, a
rock musician, that they have a son. Although the meeting goes
awry, both realize the attraction is still there. Complications,
including Jack's incapacity to commit and another, much
darker secret of Lexy’s, leave them wary of one another,
although they decide to pursue a relationship again.

Will Lexy’s inability to tell Jack about his son, his
commitment phobia, and her other secrets destroy a second
chance at love? The past and present dangerously collide as
Lexy and Jack fight to find their way back to one another.

The idea behind the story was good, but the execution of it failed to deliver, at least for me. The writing wasn't up to par with other authors I've read. I did not finish the book because I noticed I was only waiting for the moment she'd tell him they had a son and was skipping lots of text because I was bored.
One little thing annoyed me, especially at the start of the book, and that was the repetitive repeating (!) of the first names of the characters. I got the impression it was a little trick to make it clear who was talking to whom as if the author wasn't confident the conversation made that evident.

I'm not sure what to say about this book.. It had all the things that I love in a book.. a second chance at love for two people who after years apart find each other again and discover their attraction for each other is still there..
What I didn't like was the way this story was told ..it was confusing at times ..it was told from an outer POV but also from every characters POV which was weird and I didn't really like ... Also some off the wording used just grated me a bit ... It had great potential I think but just didn't do it for me..

This is truly a story of young love separated due to outside influence. The school bully takes the girl. They meet again 18 years later. He finds out he still wants her, she has a secret that he finds out about. Its a story with enough angst in it that I had to finish in one setting. It's also a story that had many twists for a HEA to have to make it work. Will be looking for more stories by this author.

Was not happy with the book....I skipped a lot of the text only reading the dialog-I was mainly waiting for the part where she told Jack he was Ryan's father. Also didn't like how every time someone said something they had to include the name of the person they were speaking too....very annoying!!!

It was kind of confusing to keep up with the back n forth of past and present. But overall I really liked the story. Some editing errors.

Really enjoyed it. There were a lot of flash backs but they help you understand what was going on. Very good read.

2.5 stars. It could have been a great story but the execution was sorely lacking. To be reviewed...

It was okay, I think the dialogue needs to flow better. It just seemed choppy and needed to be realistic
