East Park #2

Dark Frame

Rate this book
First Harvard, and now the national expansion of East Park Exposed. Evan Cosette will have to choose one or the other.

But not yet. E.P.E.’s new owner, A.J. Harrison, wants the fall launch issue shot in Boston. It will be Evan’s last go as Rylan Willow—sensual starlet of the underground magazine that made her famous.

And she’ll have to shoot without Dallas.

Finishing up his Master’s, Dallas needs to spend a semester in Costa Rica working on research. And that’s not the only thing separating him from Evan. With lingering thoughts about her relationship with Dallas being based on nothing more than lust and lies, Evan calls it quits with the gorgeous grad student from East Park University.

The breakup doesn’t make the Boston shoot easier.

Under A.J.’s reign, Britain’s artistic liberty is gone, and the issue becomes less of a clever erotic read and more of a Halloween-themed smutfest. Much like Evan’s modeling, Britain’s photos grow sloppy and uninspired.

But a reminder of the pleasures of sex and art is around the corner for both girls. Someone is leaving a trail of seductive clues for Britain on the set of the cover shoot--a historic manor.

And Dallas makes his return to steal Evan’s heart for good.

With a familiar narrator from EXPOSURE and a fresh, new point-of-view character, this is the blazing-hot sequel you’ve been waiting for.

"I was a diva for thinking that my life would dramatically change when I came out of the gigantic closet-o-porn."

I've noticed that Iris Blaire has a talent for starting her books with attention-grabbing first sentences that have a habit of placing a wide smile on my face. This first sentence drew my attention in right away. If I didn't know anything about this book, and if I was just roaming in a bookstore, looking for books to read and picked this one up. My eyes would have popped out and I would have started giggling. I would have taken it home immediately and start reading. But since I did know about this book, I just shrugged my shoulders and said with a grin, "Oh, it's just Iris Blaire. She has a habit of doing this." And once I got started, I could never stop until I finished it. This novel just blew my mind away. Racy and risque literature was what I expected and received from this titillating read.

Dark Frame is the sequel to Exposure in the ongoing East Park series. I'm going to start by saying that Exposure was so scandalously sexy and the air was so heavy with pure eroticism that it was hard to imagine that Dark Frame could somehow be better. Like, really hard to imagine and yet, the author made it possible.

The only negative thing I can come up with Dark Frame is the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. It's mostly just spelling mistakes. And that's it. Half of the time, I didn't even notice the words spelt incorrectly. I was too involved in the book to even pull my head out to shine a critical eye on Dark Frame and that's is saying a lot since I'm one of the most hardcore sticklers for spelling/grammatical errors you can ever meet.

Since it's difficult to talk about the relationships as a whole, I'm going to separate them into two different parts:

Part 1: The Reunion of Rylan/Evan and Dallas- Ship Name:Ryllas or Dallevan (Whichever you prefer)

My Rylan/Evan and Dallas

description Dallas
"Maybe we shouldn’t have immediately jumped into becoming lovers. But we weren’t just lovers. He could have been on the way to becoming my best friend too."

Dallas and Evan are one of my favourite couples. My favourite thing about them was that they didn't find any need to be unnecessarily melodramatic about their relationship and that they loved each other and that was it.

“The way I feel when I’m with you is never how it was with Tricia. Evan, you are the most gorgeous, sought-after woman I’ve ever known. Any guy who lays eyes on you would kill to be with you, and yet when you’re with me, you act like I’m the only person in the room.”

So when I read the part in the blurb where it said-
With lingering thoughts about her relationship with Dallas being based on nothing more than lust and lies, Evan calls it quits with the gorgeous grad student from East Park University
-I freaked out.

Like, legit, I freaked out like Taylor Swift who just got scared by Ellen Degeneres in her bathroom.

So yeah, those were my first thoughts so I began the novel with slight trepidation and those were my very first thoughts proven wrong when I ended the novel. When taken out of context, it sounds kind of like filler drama and that itself sounds bad. But it’s not. Its two people in a relationship who try everything to cover the gaping space between them .

I love the fact that despite both of their…ahem, unusual careers, they both know the difference between fucking and making love, between infatuation and love.

"I love it when he has his way with me, when the sex is wild and reckless and completely unstaged. It solidifies the fact that we’re alone and only doing this for ourselves."

They’re an amazing couple who I’ll continue to ship hard in the future.

Part 2: The "It's Complicated" Relationship Between Britain and Jaime- Ship Name: Braime

My Britain and Jaime

Britain Jaime

“You were my best friend’s sister and always off limits.” He plants a soft kiss against my throat and pulls his hand from beneath my dress. “Plus, you were too good for me. You’ve always been too good for me.”

WOW!! Britain and Jaime's relationship. So many things to say and yet, I'm incoherent. But here are a few words to describe them.

Incredibly, erotically, sensual.

Unbelievably sexy and steamy.

Smolderingly, smokingly hot.

A thrilling adrenaline rush.

E.g
“Britain.” He directs me toward the bed. “I would spend all day between your legs to get you off and enjoy every fucking second of it.” He pushes me down and climbs on top of me. “So don’t you dare apologize.”

Did anyone else's ovaries just explode?

Forget that, that's probably a yes.

Does anyone else have the strong urge to douse themselves with icy cold water?

I'd be very interested to know your answers as soon as I finish taking my shower. Cold water. Brrrrr.

Britain and Jaime has this undeniable chemistry between them. I love reading their scenes together because they somehow always to manage to always set me on fire. They always made me sigh with envy at the same time as well because of how those scenes also manage to be fluffy and romantic.

“I’m not asking you to fall in love with me, Jaime.” I lean forward, my nose brushing his. “You’ve been at this game for far too long, and I’m finally showing you that two can play.” When his eyes open, I whisper, “So play with me.”

And yeah, one of the reasons I love Dark Frame so much is because of Jaime. He’s just so, so, so perfect that I find myself drooling at the thought of him. And, damn, one of his hidden talents is talking dirty and sweet at the same time.

“I hope you’re patient,” he mutters.
“Why’s that?”
“Because I plan on slowly enjoying every inch of you.”

And now, I'm going to end this review by saying-

Homologous Chromosome.

That's it. That's all I'm saying, hehehe, and you'd get what I mean if you read Dark Frame.

Homologous Chromosome.

4--I Wanted More Dallas and Evan--Stars!!

This was a great follow-up to the series....the storyline seems to be transitioning more over to Britain.

Dark Frame picks up where Exposure left off. Rylan's true identity has been exposed....she's been accepted to Harvard. Dallas has broken up with his girlfriend. Both Evan and Dallas have finally admitted how they feel about each other. Everything seems to be perfect....they spend two blissful months getting to know each other more.

Now Dallas is off to Costa Rica with his research partner Laila....queue the jealousy. East Park Exposure wants Rylan Willow and will go to any lengths to get her. But that means posing without Dallas. These challenges test Dallas and Evan's fragile "relationship".

There really wasn't a bunch of OTT drama which was nice. The drama was more centered around Britain and the new direction of East Park Exposure. Along with Dallas and Evan's long distance "relationship".

There were plenty of sexy times in his one....the kink factor was upped from Exposure. I just wish we would have gotten more of Dallas and Evan. However, I'm looking forward to seeing where things go with Britain and new to the scene Jaime.

If you were a fan of Exposure, I definitely recommend Dark Frame!!

AFTER READING THE BOOK:

My thoughts: Ehhhhh

Evan and Dallas's relationship becomes conflicted over something very miniscule. Instead of talking it out they decide to split, well I guess if they don't split there wouldn't be a lot to write about?

I didn't like the switching of POVs from Evan to Britain, it felt weird because they're like sisters and your reading about both their escapades at the same time. It would've been much better if Britain had her own story in a separate book, mingling her with Evan is just too weird.

Look at how excited I was for this book and look at me now LOL

BEFORE BOOK RELEASE:

My reaction to the first book

How it left me feeling

Realizing there's going to be a second book

Finishing up his Master’s, Dallas needs to spend the first half of his semester in Costa Rica working on research. And that’s not the only thing separating him from Evan. The breakup doesn’t make the Boston shoot easier.

And Dallas makes his return to steal Evan’s heart for good.

Extra book Details: 2nd book in the series; reading 1st book is recommended. HEA & open for next book.

Dual POV's from....
Britain: The Voyeur, the photographer. Pretty girl-next-door type who's dorky and ballsy.
Evan: The Exhibitionist, the model. Brazen and hot type who's witty and sexual.

Desperate to keep the star of EPE, the magazine's new owner; A.J, offers Evan a shed load of money & moves the next magazine shoot to be near her. But she’ll have to do it without Dallas.

New models are hired & so is Britain’s blast from the past; Jamie aka brothers-bestie-who-used-to-tease-me-relentlessly & star-of-all-my-teenage-wet-dreams, much to her dismay. A.J puts up the new & old models in a Victorian manor filled with whips & chains for the theme of the Halloween magazine release. Britain realises she signed away most of her rights to the magazine, her & A.J butt heads at every turn.
Ohhh, Jamie is yummy, getting glimpses of some man-on-man action with him and Adam. Ohhh, I love Adam too, so funny and open-minded.

Her brother's best friend playing games with her mind & her body?
Love it!

And, what happens when you put a bunch of models in a creepy BDSM themed house and they all start snogging each other?
Hot stuff!

Totally love this series. Loved the wit, the set-up, the dual POVs and the exhibition and voyeur aspects. Ms Blaire can definitely write a steamy novel.

Things I didn't like in this book:

~ two female POVs, four leading characters:
I thought the setting made the entire storyline loose focus. Dallas & Evan breakup was rushed. How can my favorite couple in the first book break up in no time with little emotion and almost no communication? And I also feel lack of passion in their reunion.

~ It was hard for me to root for Brittan and Jamie when I didn't know much about their past.

One character I like:
Dallas

Exposure has unique setting, character development and great chemistry that I could not find in Dark Frame

evan and dallas are co-staring this book with britain. there’s trouble in paradise for evan and dallas. one of them is going harvard and the other is studying at costa rica. with a tinge of jealously, a pinch of insecurity and a whole lot of miscommunication, evan and dallas are having problems with their relationship.

on the other hand, britain has a surprise visitor from the past. her brother’s (ex) best friend, jamie. even though he tormented her throughout her younger years, britain always had feelings for jamie. now that he’s back, and they’re older, sparks fly and they land up in steamy situations together. it’s entertaining to watch them banter in contrast to the tense atmosphere surrounding evan and dallas.

Dark Frame picks up where exposure left off. Evan and Dallas' relationship becomes conflicted over something miniscule. I didn't like the switching of POVs between Evan and Britain, coz they are like sisters and its weird. Lol.

I enjoyed the first book in the series much more than this one. Dark Frame would have been 3 stars for me but the surprise twist at the end made me feel add 1 more star. *winks*

Very disappointed with this book. I loved the first book in the East Park series, Exposure. It was hot, sexy and had a really interesting storyline. I loved the steamy chemistry between Dallas and Evan and fell for Dallas in a big way. I was looking forward to reading Dark Frame and seeing more of them and how their relationship was progressing. Imagine my surprise when this book started with them breaking up! Wait. What? Evan behaved like a spoiled, immature brat and I seriously wanted to smack some sense into her. Pushing Dallas away for no good reason. This book wasn't even about them, which I found to be very disappointing.

Dark Frame was mainly about Britain, Evan’s best friend and photographer, and Jaime, Britain’s crush from childhood. I never really became invested in Britain and Jaime’s story and just found the whole thing lacking. Not sure if I’ll pick up the next in this series.

HOLY MOLEY!

I haven't fan-girled over a series like this in a long time...
It's just perfect.

P-E-R-F-E-C-T

I just looooove it!

I adore how in this one you get Evan aka Rylan's POV and now Britian's. It leads perfectly into the 3rd book.

Plus the little twist with Jamie.

Bah, seems that the author's talents lie in the writing of foreplay, because Evan and Dallas in a relationship and the ensuing drama just put me off. The sex scenes are like the one we had in the ending of the previous book, sort of dull.

Also, all the fun is now taken off the photoshoots since they end up

I will say I enjoyed Britain's parts more, especially that little scene with Jaime and Adam brought back some of the feelings from the good parts of the first book! Britain and Jaime were obviously going to be the couple, but in that particular scene, I just couldn't choose which one was hotter!

Transitions
by Aries.Pisces

Told from the point of view of Evan and Britain, Call Backs is the second book of the East Park series and serves as a transitional story for the rest of the series.
Lovers Evan and Dallas are leaving college and facing the problem that many college lovers have - the challenge of a long distance relationship. Evan is on her way to Cambridge, while Dallas is leaving for Costa Rica. Can a new relationship withstand Evan modeling without Dallas, Dallas traveling with a sexy partner, or and a lengthy separation?
Britain has sold her magazine with the stipulation that she maintain creative control in order to keep EPE the successful and classy magazine that she created. AJ has different ideas for the magazine's direction. Brit struggles to maintain control in the wake of losing two of her top models and with the hiring of the man who was the object of her teenage sex fantasies.
This book does a great job of easing Evan and Dallas from the focal point of the story and transitioning the focus to Britain and Jamie while leaving room for the series to focus on other models in future books. It is as well written and sexy as the first book with well developed primary and secondary characters.

This book shouldn’t have happened.

It felt like it was supposed to be Delilah and Adam’s stories renamed into the previous characters. There wasn’t even much of Evan and Dallas so I had to skip a lot since Britain, as lovely as she is, I did not started this book to read about her.

This felt like those 2000s movies that got a sequel because it got too popular and this was the train-wreck of a sequel where anything just happen yet people watch it because it is a sequel of the movie they watched then just forget ever happened because things just don’t make sense.

It was a complete upheaval of the connection and affections felt by the previous characters. Suddenly Dallas was no longer trying, Evan no longer spunky. Evan was now fine with men, posing with them as if she wasn’t about to drive a knife to her throat when she found out she’ll be posing with Dallas before. She’s also started dating. Then all of the book 1 was hushed into the idea that it was all ‘lust’. Wow Trish must be laughing in her corner then. I couldn’t even feel much for the characters since Dallas had no part at all in this book.

This just could’ve been a short epilogue in the previous book then it wouldn’t have ruined it.

This is the second book in this series and it was just as hot as the first focusing on Evan and Dallas working to fix their broken relationship and on Britain and Jaime's relationship. Growing up, Britain's older brother's best friend Jamie constantly picked on and humiliated Britain. She hates him for all he did so when he shows up to audition to model for her magazine, her answer is a resounding NO! But with the new investors taking over her magazine, she has no choice but to work with him and he promises to prove to her that he's changed. Little by little they both admit the feelings they've always harbored for each other. But the ways the explore their past and present feelings is so HOT! Lots of chemistry between the characters and some insanely hot steamy scenes. Now on to book three to figure out where the heck Jaime is and what he's done to make Britain's family hate him so much!

Outta the closet
This is book two in the East Park series, and continues on from book one. And again… the first sentence just hooks you in, not knowing entirely what you’re gonna get. But we do know that she’s come out of the closet-o-porn ;)
And, we get to delve into another relationship too, between Britain and Jaime. This seems to be more of a focus in this book, and that’s okay. Evan and Dallas’s break-up (you’ll have to read about it for all the details yourself), had me heart-broken for a while.
There is undeniable chemistry all around, and it’s risky and risqué, and a whole lot of dirty fun! So now onto the next book in the series…

This is only the second book in this series but I'm really liking this series so far.
It can be read as a standalone with a minor cliffhanger.
This book is a mix of an extended epilogue about the struggle of a new relationship and long distance moving apart for Evan and Dallas, along with the idea that she may model again without him.
The other half is like an opening to the next book about Britain and her love life and a man from her past.
It is told from both woman's point of view. Lots of fun and sad twists and turns to keep you on your toes.

This is Book 2 in the East Park Series by this author. It is the continuation of the conflicted romance between Evan and Dallas and the beginning of a romance between photographer/Evan's friend, Britain, and model Jaime. The sizzling chemistry and strong connection of these two couples are undeniable as they navigate the bumpy road to their forever after. It is quite interesting to read the push and pull and ups and downs in their relationships. It is a steamy read with drama and humor, along with passion and love, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested.

Book.2 of the East Park series was as good as the first book. This continuation of Dallas and Evan and the struggles they have and how they work on it, really make your heart clench and melt. And of course, their attraction to each other really causes the words to melt off the pages. Add in the rest of the models for their photo shoots, Britain, and a potential suitor, and things just got a lot hotter and steamier!

Evan and Dallas are still the crazy Inst-lovers. Dallas kinda steam rolls his current girlfriend for Evan who doesn't have much of a history together except the chemistry they once had on set and date. The relationship between Evan and Dallas progresses rather quickly in this book. I feel as there was not enough of the in-betwen story between Dallas and his girlfriend to make him decide to abruptly dump her. 3 1/2 stars.

Evan and Dallas are perfect for each other and I couldn't believe they would call it quits after such a short time. And I was praying that Dallas would come back and show Evan that she is the only one for him. Thankfully he makes his grand gesture and life is back on track. I just can't get enough of them. Plus Jamie and Britain heat things up quite a bit too.
