Rate this book
Major Jacob “Falcon” Kelly is a man without a country. The Russians want to kill him. The Americans think he’s a traitor.

Recently escaped from the USSR, Kelly possesses vital information about the location of kidnapped NATO weapons experts who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

With the real traitor stalking him from within the ranks of the American military, Jake doesn’t know whom to trust or where to turn. Caught between Soviet assassins and American counter-intelligence operatives, Jake must stay free—and alive—long enough to expose the most sophisticated espionage program in history.

Falcon Rising is the second book in the exciting Falcon series by C. H. Cobb.

C. H. Cobb has a non-stop imagination, identifying with James Thurber’s Walter Mitty. His career as a spinner of tall tales began by regaling his small children with the adventures of Moe, the spider that lived in the bathroom fan.

He now writes military/espionage novels, dystopian fictions, and political thrillers. Kirkus Reviews has compared his writing to that of Tom Clancy and Dale Brown.

His three children are now grown (and are all in some form of the arts, as are their spouses), and he lives with his wife Doris in Ohio where he serves as the counseling pastor of a church.

I was glued to the book. It's a page turner. It picks right up from the nail biting ending of Falcon Down and intricately sets the stage for an exciting and tense showdown. This book will takes you for a ride as it builds up to the upcoming final race against the clock with life and death hanging in the balance and two world powers teetering on the edge of global war.
Forget Hollywood antics and clichés. You get the best parts of the military & spy genre without the cheese that makes you cringe.
This book has excellent attention to detail and seems thoroughly researched. You will be completely convinced you are in the 80's neck deep in US-Soviet spy craft and military maneuvers. The way the action plays out and the choices and interactions of the characters are completely believable. Unlike the first book which almost entirely focused on Falcon, the main character and hero, this book instead goes in multiple directions as groups of secondary characters all revolve around the hero. I really liked many of these new (and more used) characters and really enjoyed their new relationships. However with all this good comes my one picky "complaint." Much of the hero's page time has been stolen by all the other characters circling around his storyline and I would have liked a little more attention paid to him at part's in the middle of the story. I would not have minded a longer book. Overall though a great read and great second act to an engaging story. I am looking forward to the third book and will read it first chance I get.

The continuing story of Major Jacob "Falcon" Kelly, who was introduced to us in Falcon Down.
C H Cobb has done it again. Another outstanding work of page turning, can not put it down espionage fiction.
