Interesting book. It has a lot of concrete meditation exercises and has helped me in terms of what to focus on. It also had a lot of focus on everyday life and how the practice might help improve that, through controlling emotions and dealing with stress. There was also a lot of theory, especially towards the end, of what this Buddhist-style meditation is about to the Buddhists, which I found quite interesting. It seems like the main goal is to relieve yourself of any sense of attachment: your thoughts are not part of you, your emotions are not part of you, and eventually, 'you' are not part of you.
This book made me fall in love with practice again. Ajahn Sucitto's writing is so clear and accessible and his take on the teachings is so relevant to the kitchen-sink level of everyday life—I can't recommend it highly enough.
