Can you believe we Finally made it to Erik and Brandons story? !
OMG! Well this story I believe was worth the wait. ..I love Erik and I always have so it was nice to get to know Brandon more and hear his side of the story.. We have seen how painful this has been for Erik but now we know Brandon was equally tortured.
I decided not to give this book 5 stars for one simple reason.... There is no excuse for misspelled words or incorrect words or anything of that nature. I don't know how things like that Get missed between beta readers and editors and rewrites etc. As a reader it is something that really bothers me. I spent money on the book and I expect it to be ready for reading. And to be honest when the word is incorrect it takes you out of the story!! You have to stop and figure out what the word or name is supposed to be. I would have liked to give 5 stars to this but I couldn't. ...

A série conta atualmente com 40 volumes publicados e eu adoro ler esses romances sobrenaturais “explosivos” e rápidos para relaxar e me divertir sem pensar muito! Tem alguns livros que eu gosto mais do que outros, mas em geral gosto muito da série por ela ser simples, com um universo bem definido, ser rápida de ler e não ter um grande aprofundamento.
Devon Carsten, o alfa da matilha de Nehalem, não poderia imaginar que ter seu irmão caçula sequestrado e em seguida conhecer seu companheiro predestinado mudaria tão drasticamente o curso de sua vida.
Nesse mundo criado pela autora, a existência dos shifters não é algo que todos os seres humanos estejam cientes. A maioria tenta viver em paz e sem chamar a atenção, mas a crueldade de alguns fez com que um grupo de humanos criasse o Conselho de Caçadores, que caça, estuda e mata indiscriminadamente qualquer shifter encontrado.
A série vai nos apresentando novos companheiros shifters e humanos, que precisam de ajuda ou de um lar, e conforme a matilha de Devon cresce, os momentos de felicidade e os perigos também aumentam. Pouco a pouco eles conseguem mudar o Conselho e fazer o grupo se concentrar em incentivar humanos e shifters a viver em harmonia e em caçar somente shifters criminosos. Porém, com isso, crimes e crueldades começam a ser descobertos, como por exemplo: shifters sendo aprisionados por anos, experimentos científicos para transformar humanos em shifters e até mesmo a gravidez masculina!
Cada livro traz a história de um casal (homem x homem), podendo ser formado por um humano e um shifter ou dois shifters. Além disso, apesar da maioria dos shifters serem lobos, existem alguns outros tipos como pumas, ursos e tigres.
Amo isso de amor à primeira vista, do shifter só ter um companheiro para a vida toda, do modo como o romance entre o casal acontece bem rápido e de, independente dos desafios, eu sempre poder contar com o “felizes para sempre” no final!
Meu Deus, as vezes eu fico rindo e pensando “Será que ninguém percebeu que as duas cidades, Nehalem e Silver Creek, praticamente só têm homens bonitos e gays!?”.

Hm. Mitigating circumstances. Such as, if you keep reading stuff that disappoints you, your standards are likely to lower some. And Erik made up for Brandon. But this is an awful intro to my review.
Just to get this out of the way: Not even gonna comment anymore on the editing issues. Nope. I’ll just refer you to my review of the preceding volume.
This first half of this story is taken up by Erik vs. Brandon. As far as I am concerned, Erik wins hands down. He’s cleaned up well, now that he got his act together. Mostly, anyway.
Now Brandon? Ugh. I had high hopes for him but he's just such an arrogant jerk. He internally refers to Erik as “the man he loves”, yet he also doesn’t want to have to deal with “the little shit” and his “crap”. Yeah, that sounds totally loving.
And for all of Brandon’s complaints about how immature Erik is, he’s at least as bad. And he doesn’t have the excuse of youth on his side.
Well. How about, hm, I don’t know, telling him? Jeez, these people go out of their way to complicate their relationships.
Erik’s actually a really decent guy. I don’t blame him for his reactions, no matter how juvenile they at times are. Brandon is entirely responsible in my eyes.
Hell, that man can’t even say the one thing he has to say. No, he has to keep belittling the other guy instead even after he resolved to clear things up. What is wrong with Brandon?
Once the relationship mess is dealt with, we get to focus on the blindingly obvious “thriller” plot. In which everyone tries their hardest to avoid appearing smart.
I don’t know. Maybe my main complaint about the books in this series is the wilful stupidity or jerkishness of characters to provide plot. It should be possible to tell a story in which people actually use their brain cells. Right?
But there you go. I liked Erik and I stopped wanting to strangle Brandon after they made up. Plus the they get in the end made me hit up Google image search. Who knew this was an actual thing?

The touchy subject of being underage until now and Brandon's reactions was fairly well put together tastefully. Finally, we find out how much older Brandon is.. which comes a sore spot for me. The number (evil smirk=no reveals) is stated flat out. Then Brandon's age is said when he met Erik.. which should actually be his current age (add two years the math comes out right). So even if you don't follow that.. the numbers are off (reminds me of The Mummy returns where 10 yrs have passed but the current year and kid's age or something just doesn't add up.. hey it's been a while since I watched it!)
Plus I noticed at least 15 grammar or misspelling mistakes. Ok so that's not a huge #.. but considering this isn't a super long book that makes a difference. plus they are just stupid mistakes that editing or proofreading should catch. Again, siren's editors seem to be on sleep mode.
"Your voice is a little too deep to pull of [off] some of the lyrics thou."
"I sent and sat [set] up the computer..."
"The guy wore all back [black]..."
I'd really like to know if the editors actually READ the books or using programs to check spelling and grammar. (dropped rating due to this)
Besides the age thing and the stupid errors I noticed, the story itself I liked. The first sexual encounter..no scratch that.. the first intercourse encounter sure surprised me though. I was glad that these two finally 'got her done' :)

Finally, Erik and Brandon are able to be together. But Erik, is still acting childish whenever Brandon is around, very annoying. And add in the murders, so much going on. Very enjoyable.
