I love all the characters!! Kei and Sasame are so cute!! Yuya is endearing too.
Cuteness overload!
We are introduced to Yuya a part timer who picks up two nukos Kei(male) and Sasame(female) and takes them home. Nukos are hybrid cat and human who are kept as pets. This manga is all about their everyday life.

4.5 stars. A small review to this adorable and hilarious manga.

The story begins when Yuuya picks up 2 Nuko, cats + humans, little small critters who look at act like cats, but look pretty much like mini-humans with cat ears + tails. They can also talk. But for most of the time they are pretty much cats. Their tongue is rough, they can't handle hot foods, they get distracted by everything (though, that kind of sounds like me, if I think about it), they love being petted and getting attention. Yuuya loves them, up to the point I was wondering if it wasn't getting a bit creepy. Making pictures of them, getting shot through the heart with invisible arrows when the kitties do something super adorable.
I loved the kitties, and all they did for Yuuya, how they gradually became more independent and could go out themselves instead of eagerly waiting for Yuuya to finally return from one of his jobs.

Yuuya was a great guy, really interesting and super funny. I loved that he was so caring for the kitties, he really did his best to care for him, even when he wasn't always taking care of himself (who the hell falls asleep on the side of the road?????). His adoration for the kitties was really nice, though like I said, a bit creepy at times. :D

I liked the addition of the friend next door who seemingly burns even tea or water. I have no clue how, but for some reason anything will burst into black smoke.

The art is really great, and you can see it is improve, even in one volume. Which is really great, I can't wait to see how the art will look in the last volumes.

All in all, if you want a laugh, a squee and some more laughs, try this one out. It is pretty short, the chapters are mostly around 5 to 8 pages, but it is so worth it.

It already got my attention the moment I saw that super cute cover! So when Nukozuke was offered to me, I didn’t waste my chance, *wink.

Nukozuke is about the story of these two adorable Nukos with their new owner after they were abandoned. Nuko are actually cats who evolve to be more like humans. Imagining it sounds a bit frightening, lol. But they are just like a normal cat but with the ability to talk and have mental capability like a human.

Yes it’s not a very fresh idea, but I really enjoyed it. I love cute things so reading each page feels like heaven for me. I love that everything was so easy to read despite the abandonment scene in the first chapter. That scene gave me more realization of how pets felt when they are abandoned by their owners, and as a pet owner myself, it felt really personal. So for pet owners out there, please think twice before you abandon your pets, or those who are planning to get a pet, please be responsible and treat them like a family.

But as I’ve said, Nukozuke was pretty easy to read. It’s nice to see these two adorable Nukos finally enjoying their lives and eating well. Their owner is quite lazy hahaha, but he’s definitely a responsible owner. I love how he sews new outfits and cooks good foods for them.

Aside from the mentioned characters above, we also got introduced to a new character, who is Yuya’s friend and is also their neighbor. Unlike Yuya, this dude looks like a responsible adult so I was really laughing when I got to know more about him, wahahaha. This manga definitely didn’t skimp on adding more diverse personalities for its characters, *wink.

There’s also a bonus chapter which gives us a glimpse on what happened when Yuya finally adopted the Nukos. It’s really cute how Yuya prepared everything for his new babies. Awww <3

As for the art, it looks so cute! I don’t think I’ve met a slice of life manga that I didn’t like the character designs, and it’s no different this time. I especially love the illustrations of the Nukos, they are soooooo adorable! There’s also a character introduction and a little description at the end of the story, so it really felt that I know the characters really well now.

I don’t think I have anything that I didn’t like in this manga, which explains the 5-stars above, *wink. I can’t wait to see what volume 2 is in store for us! Yasss!
