This volume starts of with ads for a language learning program, then has a very poorly edited introduction (copy-pasted from the Spanish edition...).
Furthermore, in the numbers section, the page for number 6 is missing. The second example sentence for 100 feels stilted (most germans would say 'hundert' in stead of 'einhundert' in that sentence.
On the page for 'gestern', the example sentences are switched around.
In section 8, for 'sie', the 'n' is missing in the example phrase 'Sie sind schon'
Section 8, 'jetzt', more common to say 'Was möchtest du jetzt machen' in stead of 'Was magst du jetzt machen'.

Nevertheless, an okay collection of everyday phrases.

You will not learn German with this book. What you will learn are German words and phrases that may or may not help you, it depends on what you're looking for or trying to do.

You are given words for different body parts and how to use them in a sentence.
You are given words for different fruits and vegetables and how to use them in a sentence.
You are given the numbers one through ten, and how to use them in a sentence.
You are given the basic colors and how to use them in a sentence.

You are not given anything on sentence structure, grammar, verb conjugation, or anything to help you put together a string of words on your own. I'm not even sure you could use this book to ask for directions.

I did add to my vocabulary with this book, but some of the sentences and structuring is a bit beyond my ability yet.

In short, this is a phrase book, it can help expand your German vocabulary, but you're not going to be doing much language learning here.

Probably going to listen to this a lot. This is filled with very useful phrases for every day conversations. I wouldn’t recommend if you don’t have a basic understanding of German otherwise it will be just a bunch of memorizing for you. Great for people with a decent knowledge of German who need a little help conversationally/out of the classroom.

Nice book for quick start learning

I like the use of pictures to go along with the words (although the picture for seven is confusing.) Nice refresher for a former German student.

I'd recommend it for testing your own memory or comprehension, but maybe not for learning in the first place.

Good basic text. A couple errorss

A limited but useful basic vocab book. Totally beginner level though.
It could have used a native speaker exit it. A couple goofs.

Not an easy way to learn a language- only good for simple phrases. It was free and I could hear the language better than on duo lingo but not seeing it hindered the process.

Right on the first page, on the "how to use" section, it says "The book is a collection of key Spanish vocabulary..." The publisher should have reviewed it better, and change the Spanish for German after the “copy and paste”. Other than that, I found it too basic, and for someone who already has some German knowledge it really does not help.

Informative

Won't really help you learn German but it was neat that it had pictures to go along with words. Also liked that it showed you how the word could be used in different situations.

Great short exercises

Very good vocab builder, I enjoyed working through the exercises and it is free. Some words have images which aid visual learning. The vocab builder is pitched at GCSE level.

interesting

The book is interesting but not enough to be able to make a first conversation after reading it. In the end you will learn a lot of human body parts.
