3.25 stars. This book could definitely use a lot of work. I think it definitely needs to be developed more. But with that being said, I really liked this short story. It has great potential and if it was a longer book I'm sure it would have been great :).
The author used the word desert instead of dessert 8 times in the book to describe a meal. The story would have flowed better if she had taken the time to run it through spell check or Grammarly. I liked the premise of Selene not being a doormat in her relationships.
I gave this story three stars instead of two because I liked the premise and the story did start out well; however the characters seemed flat/one dimensional and not completely thought out. Also the issues that plot raised (Selene's alcoholism, Dorian's past, even the reasons for their mutual attraction) were not adequately explored, just sort of thrown into the story line and then dropped. The point of view portions were confusing and choppy and there were times when I got lost. Toward the middle of the book everything sped up and became rushed as if the author needed to just get the story done.
I think that this story deserves a second chance (complete rewrite and a better job of editing). I've seen authors (Stephen King, Christina Dodd, etc.) return to a story and completely overhaul it...I'd love to see this done for Selene and Dorian's story.
Loved the cover but unfortunately that was about it. Near the beginning and towards the end I had a hard time figuring out who's POV I was reading. the characters seemed to just meet and be like OMG I love you and I have only known you an hour. I guess i just wish there had been more character development and more development on their relationship.
Ummm...I liked this but I just didn't feel the connection between Dorian and Selene it was lacking for me because when you feel that connection between two people its great but if you don't it's always lacking
What do you call a book that makes you want to read it one minute and then the next put it away and find something more exciting? This book. The book had a great concept it was just a dull delivery.
It was a quick read that filled in an hr or so while I sat at the hospital waiting for a client. Not my usual style and I wasnt into the whole cage fighting storyline behind the characters. To each their own I suppose.
It wasn't bad. I thought the writing was a little choppy at times and the characters and story could have been developed a little more than what they were. I also would have liked more to the ending, but I'm finding I want more in the ending with pretty much every book I read.
Best book I have EVER read. When I first got this book it was on my first kindle firr5 and this book just blow my mind. I laughed and I cried. It was so amazing. Darion and Selena are amazing I so wanted more then just a short story. I cried for the both of them with what happen to Tony. I was a mess. It just was that kind of Book that wants to be reread over and over again.love thia book. Wish this book didn't have to leave so soon.
