The Pledge

Rate this book
Billy and Sarah Roth are happy--really happy. The last six months at Scinegue have been peaceful and productive and their lives are back to normal. Billy enjoys learning about the company's secretive high-tech projects and Sarah is expecting their first child.

Their happiness is soon buried under tragedy as an accident kills a close friend and comes close to claiming Sarah's life. A possessed nurse tries to finish the job and the Protectors realize evil is in their midst once again and no one is safe from It's influence.

The Roth's unborn child seems to be the target and Billy thinks the source might be someone he works with. It's possible he's right while still being wrong. Will he end up trusting the wrong people? All that really matters now is that someone finds a way to stop the Evil before It can accomplish It's mission.

An excellent alternative to R rated thrillers...

Enjoying books of mystery/suspense/thriller genre, I found the first two of this series satisfying. The scripture references were spot on. Family values and Christian morality seemed to emphasize the intent of Ms. Booth's fine writing ie.. to visualize biblical concepts. The bible clearly informs readers of Satan's powers and desires.

One slight criticism....in both books the characters were frequently described with extreme beauty. This was done with such frequency it became redundant. The constant references to 'perfect' outward beauty could send misleading messages to young people who are bombarded w/similar ones in the media.

The Pledge

This book is just as exciting and inspirational as the first. The story has miracles, Godly wisdom , and love. The characters are lovable and growing in grace and strength. Totally enjoyed reading this futuristic wonderful story.

A great example of prime Christian suspense/ thrillers/ horror that's wholesome and beneficial. I am hooked on the series and my mother enjoys it too.
