Nosferatu rule from the shadow and keep order over their blood thirsty people. Bald with pointed ears, they give vampires something to fear. If a law is broken, they have only one punishment. Death. They are the most powerful clan in the Vampire Nation and the most monstrous. Only a male vampire can be transformed into a Nosferatu but not all survive.
Connie Bence is on the run with her two lovers, Rurik and Tane. As leader of the Nosferatu, Tane’s only threat is his own clansmen and they want all three of them dead. When Rurik began to lose his hair rumors spread and the Nosferatu accuse Tane of trying to transform Rurik into one of them illegally.
With the Nosferatu on their heels, Connie tries to figure out what’s changing Rurik and cure him before she loses him to blood lust.
Annie Nicholas hibernates in the rural, green mountains of Vermont where she dreams of different worlds, heroes, and heroines. When spring arrives the stories pour from her, in hopes to share them with the masses one day.
Mother, daughter, wife are some of the hats she happily wears while trudging after her cubs through the hills and dales. The four seasons an inspiration and muse.
What an awesome conclusion to the series!!! This book totally sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. The ending was completely unexpected, and really a unique one. I've never read one like it before. Very cool!
Connie and Tane are still two of my all-time favorites EVER. Connie keeps me entertained with her witty remarks. I have implemented the use of some of them in my household.
I'm a HUGE fan of this series, and of Annie's! I can't wait to read more!!!
Connie finds herself in her own little family, her Rurik and Tane. She never knew she could love to men, but they love each other also so they just make sense. However, now their happily ever after has turned into a nightmare. Rurik is sick which is odd because vampires don't get sick. Soon they discover he is turning into a Nosferatu, which is not a big deal except that the other Nosferatu did not approve and are not happy, they want him killed. Connie and Rurik are now on the run to hide but Rurik is getting worse and the man Connie loves she now fears.
Soon Tane is there to help but they are not sure what to do and who to trust. They know they must make some hard choices. Can Connie choose one love over the other. Can she live without either one of them.
Once again, I could not put this book down, I devoured it. Connie gets stronger in each book and both men are irresistible. I love Tane more and more and we get a lot more of him in this book. The ending was a real surprise, what I really liked about this book is that it is not predictable.
Tane, Rurik and Connie have been lovers for a year now. They share everything that lovers do in bed. Connie is still considered Tane’s blood slave and acts as she should when others are around but when alone with him and Rurik, she is able to be herself and they treat her an equal. Rurik is Tane’s right hand man when it comes to the political side and he is really good at it but Rurik is changing, not in a good way and they have no idea why. He’s losing his hair, becoming more aggressive, and his ears seem to be coming to a point, it’s almost as if he’s turning into a Nosferatu Vampire but that’s impossible because Tane hasn’t changed him. In fact it’s against the law and would mean certain death for Tane. They’ve tried to hide it but Tane’s clan have caught wind of the changes in Rurik and they are out for blood. Not just Rurik but Tane and Connie as well. Now they are on the run not just from the clan but to try and find a cure for Rurik.
This book was amazing and my favorite in the series! I’ve loved Rurik since the very first book. He was always so gentle with Connie and the changes that he went through in this book broke my heart. I’m not gonna lie, I cried like a baby more than once! My heart broke that his blood lust for Connie was so severe that he was no longer gentle. I don’t want to give anything away but I will say that the ending was not anything that I saw coming but I LOVED it!
This is book three in the series but can really be read as a stand-alone since it does go back and explain things however I really suggest that you read books 1 and 2 first because I gave every book in the series 5 stars with the exception of the 2.5 novella which I gave 4.5 only because Rurik wasn’t in it. I told you that I loved him…
The book is written so you keep holding your breath at every turn.
Rurik has been losing his hair. His blood thirst has increased beyond anything a normal vampire needs. The only vamps that lose their hair is the Nosferatu but they need to be voted in to the brotherhood.....but theres no way that Rurik could be a Nos.....is there?
Tane is pulled into his "brotherhood" clan, the Nosferatu to question about turning Rurik into one of them....which worries Tane, and so takes Connie with him rather than Rurik. He buffs the questions well, but when they ask to see him, he requests Connie to get him. When out of the room, he uses their telepathic link to tell her to run with Rurik and fast.
They take Tanes boat and decide to go to Rome.....probably not the best idea in hindsight. They take shelter in an abandoned orphanage that Rurik and his maker used to hide in. While Kam sets about making sure the area is safe, Rurik is hungry...again..... Only this time, Connie cant make him stop drinking and decends into a darkness.
The first face she sees is Kam, and is grateful for his protection.
They were losing Rurik.
Tane eventually catches up with them, and they take Rurik to his maker in hopes that her bond can help him.
I'm not writing the rest of the storyline - it kinda makes your jaw drop and something I've never seen in a vamp storyline occurs, and leaves you flabbergasted.
Another great instalment, the relationship between Connie and Tane increase as they find solace in each other watching Rurik fade away in front of them.....
Not sure if another book is planned, and if so, not sure how its gonna top this one, but ill definitely be picking it up!!
What a way to end a series! When you read this make sure you have Kleenex ready! It was intense not knowing what the next day would hold. Take is now a well developed character, Rurick is in anguish over what is happening to him. Connie just realized that she loves them both. Without giving spoilers you must read this book to find how it ends. Definitely a must-read!
Loved it, hope the Author will let us know what happens after the fifty years. Couldn't put it down and loved the twist. Please let us know what happens after the fifty years. I would read again and recommend.
This book had me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I loved the ending & I am happy with how it all turned out, left it open to a possibility of more books, but if not an acceptable ending.
Wow this series just keeps you gripped. So something weird is happening to Rurik and unfortunately he’s caught the attention of the Nosferatu clan. Will Connie be able to save him with Tane’s help? Will they be able to figure out what happened to Rurik? Or will she have to watch her life change for the worse once again? Wow another great read, love the plot, characters and once again the change in scenery. We get everything with this book, love, hate, fear, mistrust, lies, loads of angst, but a huge feeling of family too. I can’t wait to read the next and see where these characters take us next.
That was one heck of an ending. But watch out for the emotional minefield getting there. It’s been a while since I’ve been fully immersed in a book that asked so much of me. Fair warning: keep the tissues handy because you're going to need them. The emotional undertow is deep and it is strong. You really don't realize just how deep into the story you are until you're in over your head. Even having read the blurb for the next book, I didn’t see this solution to the problem coming. It is creative, and unique, and absolutely freaking brilliant.
There was a huge emotional roller coaster occurring in this book. The journey that Tane, Rurick and Connie had to go thru was intense. I shed tears and the ending was not anticipated. I have bittersweet feelings toward the ending, but overall I guess I am happy. Read the series and then get some closure with this book.
Continue love story and adventures of Tare, Connie, and Rurik. Rurik is change and he is losing his mind. All he wants is Colonies blood. So off to Italy to find his maker. Can Tare and Connie save Rurik before he kills Connie? Great story.
What a wonderful twist to a power packed series. Although the story had been about Connie, Anne cleverly allowed us into the vampires mindset as well. Totally enjoyed this take on a vampire love story
This was a good series but there are lots and lots of typos. It could definitely use another round of editing. If that kind of thing really bothers you, then you probably won't be able to get through this series, although it is worth trying to get through if you like vampire romance.
I loved this entire series. It was so much better than all the angsty teenager fluff thats around. This is a series meant for adults and I appreciated. I highly recommend this series.
What more can I say but I love a story with a happy ending. Glad to see that after all the running and all the damage that Connie gets to live a mainly mortal life!
OMG what an ending!! guilty of reading the synopsis for the 4th book. Ruins it I know. but she's such a great author. Who's your baby daddy. them both!

Just want to say before I start that to me Nosferatu is a beer… (Highly hopped imperial red ale rich with flavor, yet remarkably balanced) by Great Lakes Brewery in Cleveland Ohio. With that said it was hard to get used to thinking of Nosferatu as Vampires. Although I did know that is what Nosferatu was.
Well, what to say about a ménage that deals with two vampires…one being Nosferatu, and a human; makes for an interesting ménage. Along with their shifter bodyguard (whom I liked more than the actual Vampires) are on the run from the Nosferatu nation. This is a little on the dark side, not at all for those expecting a light Vampire read. It is well written giving a whole new look at the workings within vampire nations everywhere. It brings a different hierarchy to light. Most vampire stories show that there are the royal ones that rule and those that are subservient to the ruling class. In this the third installment of the Angler series, we find that there is a higher hierarchy that each clan so to speak answers to and that is the Nosferatu.
Tane is Nosferatu, in love with Rurik who is vampire with something that has happen to start changing him Nosferatu which is not allowed as you must follow a certain order of things and their human Connie who loves both of them in her own way; find themselves running from the Nosferatu in order to find out what is happening to Rurik. Tane didn’t change Rurik but he is turning.
Ms. Nicholas delves in the darker side bringing many things to the forefront that makes you start to think differently about what you thought you knew about the vampire nation. She did a really nice job with the sex/ménage scenes making them (while a little explicit) seem almost sensual. Because of the love they all have for each other it shows or actually you can feel it while understanding what each of them brings to the relationship and what they need from each other. Ms. Nicholas descriptions are spot on and very easy to visualize.
For anyone wanting a different twist, something a little darker perhaps/is not afraid to think outside the box, will enjoy the take on Vampires as seen through the eyes of Ms. Nicholas.
I enjoyed reading about the Nosferatu but…I think I am going to actually go grab a bottle of ‘Nosferatu’ along with another book in this series as I missed the first two.
When I started reading this series i was hooked pretty quickly. the characters were interesting and so was the story line, heck the first book took my only a couple of hours to finish. so you can imagine how sad i was when i was half way through this book because it was the last. that being said the ending of this book sucked.
the book started great and like the previous ones it hooked me quickly but the ending was not so steller. I felt like Tane (insert *swoon* here) was cheated out and that Ms Nicholas did not really know how the end the book while incorporating all the characters together.
Being more a fan of Tane than Rurik, it was kind of a sad ending for me, but a good read no doubt :p
The latest addition to The Angler series is an emotional rollercoaster of a romantic paranormal read. Overall, I was totally engrossed in the story from beginning to end, but if you haven’t read the previous books in the series I highly recommend that you do. The book can be read by itself, but to get the full impact you should really know the characters and their full histories together, where they started and how they got to where they are now and just how much they deserve the happy ending they got at the end of this story… sorry I’m not going to spoil the surprise.
