Are the woes of the present meant to be endured for the promise of a better future or to atone for past wrongs? In a captivating epic of love, fate and faith, seven young people must struggle with this spiritual puzzle as their alien past lives threaten the future.

Driven by secrecy and the memories of the moon base's socially dissonant engineer Shion, young Rin has fled from home to find unexpected allies amongst strangers. On a school trip to Kyoto, the others have met with Mr. Tamura and the reclusive moon dreamer Haruhiko. Finally, they know the shocking truth that Rin is Shion and that Shion was trapped alone on the moon for nine maddening years. All the stress causes the poignant memories of Mokuren to fully awaken within Alice. Once back in Tokyo, Alice's dreams reveal just how tragically difficult it was for Mokuren to grow up as a religious icon.

This volume starts off a new story arc of Mokuren's life. I really liked the art in some of the "wintery" scenes!

It turns out Mokuren’s life wasn’t all sunshine and daisies like Shion thought.

Aw, child Mokuren was so lonely and vulnerable.

Not all sunshine and rainbows like Shion thought. The Kiche seems to be more of a curse than a gift at this point.
