This was a decent read/listen....A basic boy meets girl and they fall for one another....Lydia was an assistant for a Hollywood actress and she was sent to Montana to bid on a specific man (The towns' most eligible and rich bachelor for charity). After Lydia wins a date with Wes, she realizes she enjoyed herself as does he and he ask her for a proper real date. The next morning the two sit down for breakfast at her hotel and she comes clean about being sent to town. However, she does not tell him the actress' name but she was sent to research a movie role for the actress. Wes and his family (with the exception of his brother) make Lydia feel welcomed and help her with her research. However, Lydia later finds out at the same time Wes finds out that the reason Lydia was sent to town is a farce. After that Lydia and Wes fall out because he thinks she was using him.....etc....my issue is this is the part of the story that is a bit murky...this part was truly underdeveloped, because we never really understood why some land that Wes owed was so important to the actress and how did she know he was selling it? Why was Wes's brother Jamerson so hard on Lydia? there were things/issues brought up in the book to make it an issue but it went unresolved. The couple gets back together at the end and get their HEA, but what happened to the actress and the land she underhandedly purchased from Wes?

I decided to give this a try because it was in the Audible included list. I was disappointed in the story and narration. The story started off with promise. Even though I didn’t care for the narrator I was still invested in the story. Then things just fell apart. There were situations introduced that either added no value or were left incomplete.

As for the characters, Lydia started off deceiving Wes as her boss demanded. She soon felt guilty and came clean which was a plus in her favor. Wes was an ok hero in the beginning but by the end his character became a little unlikeable. We’re left with no justifiable reason why Jamison immediately distrusts Lydia. Sierra never gives clear answers as to why she was so infatuated with Wes. Wes makes Lydia feel like she’s wrong for leaving after he berates her regarding Sierra’s description. We have no idea what’s going on with Wes’ sister. Just too many wholes and in answered questions.

I had hopes of liking this book but just didn’t.

This book was just to predictable for me. It was tamer than anything I've choose to read in awhile. I was hooked when I saw the black cowboy on the cover. But I was so bored with it, I gave up nd started skimming through to the end. To which, I admit, I never made it.

I was deeply disappointed in this audiobook, both in the writing and in the narration. The narrator gave these wealthy Montana ranchers a drawl that was part Southern, part African-American and wholly unbelievable. Worse, the author kept telling me how her characters felt, rather than showing them living their emotions. At least she made Lydia honest after her initial deception, but Wes seemed unworthy of her all along. He fell for her quickly, wanted sex right away, and later believed the worst of her with no proof, despite her denials. Lydia’s resistance to sex was fine, until suddenly she changed with no discernable reason. Wes was such a heel, I wanted Lydia to slam the door in his face, and her eventual capitulation had no basis for trusting him again. We’re left with several unanswered questions, which presumably will be answered later in the series, but I have no interest in continuing. Fortunately, I’ve read enough other, better romances featuring Black protagonists, or this would have been my last in the genre.

I listened to the audiobook. The style of writing and monotone narration when a character wasn't speaking made it tedious. I'm sure others will disagree, but had I been reading an e-book, this probably would have been in the DNF pile because much of the dialogue simply felt stiff and unrealistic. We don't live in the 1800s where casual conversation is so precise. I kept wanting the story to move along so that I could find out how it ended, so at least the author was good at crafting a decent plot. This was my first book by this author and it wasn't impressive.

An OK Read. This story was just OK. Nothing to write home about. Typical paperback novel. Reminded me of a harlequin novel. You know the ones with the woman and the big muscular guy on the cover sweeping her off her feet, or in a passionate embrace? Picture that but with black characters in modern day.

Cute story of love, trust, and the importance of truth. Lydia meets and falls in love with Wes, but Wes must learn that some women can be trusted. The smile comes later when he learns what Lydia means by the phrase "Wrangling Wes".
Full of smiles.

Wrangling Wes was a “good” book. It’s short so it lacked depth.

This book is the first installation that introduced the Broward family of Granger Montana which comprises of Grandfather, parent and four children. Lydia was on assignment to Granger Montana to study the life in the small town. Unknown to her, there was a different agenda by her boss in getting her to the town. She met Wes Broward and things developed pretty rapidly between them and soon, the reason of her being in the town becomes a threat to their relationship. It is a great read for me with well-developed story plot that keeps me wondering what will happen next.

I love series books. Wrangling Wes introduces us to the Broward family of Granger Montana. The family consists of Grandfather, parents and the three children. Wes is the youngest son; he falls in love w/Lydia Emerson, from L.A. They have their ups * downs thst seem to be threatened by Lydia's boss Samara. I look forward to the next books to go into more depth about this family.

Could not get into this one
nor the second one in the series.

Jacquelin Thomas is an author I just see her name and get the book.

This one was just not for me, then I read the second book and it did nothing for me also.

The first book in The Browards of Montana series is well written, decision made along with secrets kept only added to the intrigue making it a page turner, on to book two.
