Liza goads her friend, meek little Marcy, into visiting the local potion shop. It's an odd place filled with bottles, unguents, ointments and more. And staffed by a handsome young man named Travis.
But, when Marcy goes back inside to give Travis her number, something has changed. He isn't the charming young man she'd met just a few minutes before.
This is a short interlude in the lives of two girls who visit a potion shop for a giggle. It's just across the road from the coffee shop.
I'd suggest not believing the spill chucker - roman-esk is not a word, 'trying to demure' is nonsensical and calling a potion shop worker a vial personality, twice, is either bad spelling or an erudite pun above the heads of many YAs. I'm really not sure how old the ideal reader should be as I spy strong language. What I do like is that one of the young women asks for a charm to make her more confident, but as the story proceeds and the need arises, her confidence is found. I have enjoyed fantasies by this author set in other worlds.
