Wrath volunteers to live and work outside Homeland, where he'll once again be confined in a small space with other males. He was subjected to horrific abuse and conditioning and forced to view endless sex tapes of human females while chained to Mercile's perverted machines. Wrath knows he¿s too dangerous and emotionally damaged to ever be with a female.

Lauren has just been detained by three big, buff, well-armed men - New Species. One of them really catches her eye. He's tall, sexy and... her new roommate, apparently. Having never met a man this spectacular, she decides to taste every inch of his amazing body. Wrath is definitely open to that plan. The sex is incredible and he gives her everything she needs - but he'll only go so far. Something is holding him back.

Lauren has to make him unleash his desire and Wrath has to get past his fear if the couple wants any chance at a future together.

Publisher's Note: While each New Species book is a standalone, the greatest enjoyment will come from reading them in series order.

I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.

No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.

I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.

“I know you won’t. You will be very gentle with me. I know that from the way you touch me. I trust you. Have some trust in yourself.”

Wrath is the 6th book in the New Species Series, and it is a great read! Wrath has not tasted freedom for long. He still lives the nightmares of his sexual abuse and torture. Not feeling safe to be around females, and wanting to help others of his kind find freedom he joins the task force team. Him and a few of his team mates are out trying to capture Bill, a ex Mercile employee. Instead a beautiful blonde shows up and it shocks him that he is attracted to her. Lauren makes him want things he feels he is too messed up to have. While holding her to find out what she knows about bill, she is attacked and he is made her protector, being around her all the time causes passions to ignite. Will he be able to get over his fears and past demons to have the woman he wants?

“Oh yeah,” Lauren gasped. “Doggy style is my favorite too.” Wrath lowered his head, kissed her neck and chuckled. “Canines do it best.”

 photo BeFunky_81ab4ca5e7950c58971ca2b1472f0ede.jpg_zpset1pyvw1.jpg

Wrath was one sexy damaged alpha male. Even with everything he has lived through he has a good heart and wants to help others. He is brave. Even with all the demons from the past he never gives up. He is a fighter!

“I never believed I’d be attracted to a human female but you’re all I want.”

“I hope you meant it when you said I have you because I can’t let you go. You’re my mate, my other half, and my soul.”

“I can’t get enough of you. I have already scent imprinted you. I’m possessive and dominant. We keep being told that our kind has a deep-seated need to control the people around us but you control me. You look at me and I want to do anything to make you happy.”

Lauren made the book for me. She is very real and down to earth. She has a few extra pounds , but she is ok with that. She is beautiful inside and out. She was sassy, and a fighter. I love that she was so sweet and understanding of Wrath's past and the problems that he suffers from his abuse. She gives him love, support, and total trust. Letting him take things at his own pace, and willing to take whatever he feels he can give. I just loved her!!!

“I meant I don’t believe that you’d be rough with me and cause me pain. You’ve been nothing but wonderful. I admit my sexual experiences aren’t that vast but I wish you could see yourself the way I do now.”

“You’re amazing, strong, determined and brave. You hunt down those assholes that hurt your people. That’s so noble and yeah, brave. I admire you and think you’re the sexiest guy ever. I’m so glad you came into my life.”

“You make me happy. I hope I make you feel that way too. This…” She waved her hand at the room. “Doesn’t matter. It’s just being with you that does. I know your past and mine are drastically dissimilar but it’s the here and now that I care about.”

This book was a very enjoyable read, and added nicely to the continuing story line. Lauren and Wrath together are sweet, tender, but sexy too. I loved her best friend Amanda and I hope to see more of her... Maybe with Flame?? Wrath was a very nice addition to the series. I am on to the next book. Below I leave my favorite moment from the book.

“Ask me, Wrath. Please?” “I can’t. I’m not fit to be a mate and I have nothing to offer you.”That did it. Anger rose. “Nothing? You’re wonderful and amazing, Wrath. You’ve had such a rough life yet you’re the kindest man I’ve ever met. You’ve given me more in the short time we’ve had together than anyone else ever has. You risked your life to get me back. You fought for me when Vengeance went a little nuts and I love you. Do you know what it does to me when you hold me? I feel like I’m exactly where I belong. You touch me and I’ve never been so alive. You have scars inside and out but you faced your fears to make love to me. That’s the best gift anyone could give.” He shrugged off her hold. His hands rose to cup her cheeks and leaned down until their faces were just a few mere inches apart and searched her eyes. She wasn’t sure what he looked for but she knew he’d find honestly. “I won’t ever let you go if you agree to be my mate. Ever. It won’t be easy but I’d do anything for you to make you happy. I would die if you ever left me. I couldn’t survive missing you.” “I choose you, Wrath. Always you. You’re not going to lose me.”

She’s mine. She said she feels love for me. Take her. Keep her. Mine!

This is the sixth installment in New Species series and it was way better than I had originally expected. I admit I’ve found this series is kind of hit and miss. Mostly miss. So it was a huge surprise for me that I enjoyed every page of this book, and the characters as well, were all likable.

Even though the plot was a bit simple and predictable, the author delivered this fun and entertaining read in which I had a hard time putting it down.

Wrath is an endearing New Species. I loved everything about him. I loved his strong physical body as much as his honesty, protectiveness, possessiveness, determination, and selflessness towards Lauren. But most of all, the thing that made my heart melt was the way he treated her with such tenderness and sweetness. When a very big guy did something like that, I just couldn’t say no.

“Always, Lauren,” he whispered. “I give you my life, my loyalty and my heart forever.”

Lauren is a smart and strong woman. She could handle difficult situations bravely and cleverly. She’s somewhat different from other Laurann Dohner’s heroines, and I liked that very much.

The flammable sexual tension between Wrath and Lauren was manifest from the beginning. The sex was scorching hot that you should keep a very big fan near you. I found myself smiling involuntarily throughout those scenes where they spent time together. They were really meant for each other.

As much as I enjoyed reading this book, the only thing that kept me from rating it 5 stars was the filler. There were too many scenes that felt like needless fillers and some parts of the story dragged a bit. But on the whole it was good and appealing.

“I will learn to be the best mate.”
He was so damn cute and if he didn’t already have her heart, he would have won it over in that moment. She reached up and traced his cheekbone. “You already are the best.”

By the way, I’m happy I picked up this book. I was so satisfied with ‘MINE’—got what I wanted already!

Despite the destruction of many of their labs, Mercile, the pharmaceutical company that created the New Species and used them for drug testing, are still operating others in hidden locations.
Wrath is now working with the special task force that finds and free new species still held captive and bringing their jailers to justice.

During a sting operation, Wrath saves a human female from being raped by one of his new species colleagues. Lauren, a real estate agent is caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, when she’s asked to meet a client who wants to purchase some property in a very dodgy part of town. Well, her life is going to change BIG TIME!!! And excuse the pun here…but Lauren is a gorgeous, sassy, funny girl, who loves to eat...yes, she’s a bittttttttt overweight….but who cares….Wrath finds her totally enchanting…..he sees more in her than just her physical looks!

These two go on a suspenseful and “hot” ride together….Lauren even gets the chance to save Wrath from those dreaded labs and scientists…….nice to have the heroine kick ass to save her man.
I just love the secondary characters….Breeze, you rock girl!!!
And I thought Amanda, Lauren’s best friend’s interaction with Flame, Wrath’s mate somewhat hilarious….this girl loves eating even more than Lauren but hell, she’s comfortable with you and what she is…..
 photo 3aca3415ce57ac31b3359b7198a17d97_zps6da7f555.jpg

Of course, loads and loads and loads and loads of sex scenes….these guys are not shy, let me tell you. They want their woman in their beds 24/7……….where do they get that stamina??????? Oh yes, some good shower scenes in this one photo hhd-108e_zpse7ed0071.jpg
A nice continuation in the New Species World.

Aww, Wrath is my favorite of this series now because he is freaking adorable! He has not been out of captivity long but has joined the Task Force to help free more of his people along with two others who have also just been freed. These three are even less understanding of social skills, which is good news and bad news.

The good news: the socially awkward and funny way Wrath is when he is dealing with Lauren.

Lauren is a human who was set-up by her co-worker to be taken down by the Task Force instead of him. They take her prisoner because they think she has information, but soon learn that she doesn't. Wrath is in charge of taking care of her until they catch the guy, so she is sleeping in his room while he sleeps on the floor. When he walks in wearing just boxers, she is kind of shocked.

"Where are the rest of your clothes?"

"I usually sleep without any clothing but I am properly covered... My dick is hidden."

She had nothing to say to that.

Ummm, okay. A little direct and very awkward, but I guess that is technically acceptable.

Now, here's the bad news about these guys being newly freed. One of them is pretty scary. He decides that he wants to mate with Lauren to force her to do his will. And, he's pretty stubborn about his rapey tendencies. So, he gets a one-way ticket back to the compound to live in the forest for a while. Go rape some squirrels, asshole!

oops, sorry Mrs. Squirrel

The other great thing about this book was that the couple always fought to stay together. There was none of that crap with a million misunderstandings or separating "for their own good" or anything like that. They both wanted to be together and were honest about it.

"Will you marriage with me?"

"You're asking me to marry you?"

"Yes. Marriage. It is a ceremony humans have and your family will know I am sincere about my love for you..."

Adorable!

Sorry, what was that?

I couldn't hear you over the sound of my internal screaming about the way rape was used as a plot device in this.

Sure, New Species books ALWAYS have the token rape attempt, the hero swoops in and then YAY it's back to happy fun sexy times.

But this book? This book took that idea and fucking flew it to the moon.

If Lauren wasn't being accosted by Vengeance, she was being scared into compliance by Wrath with the threat of Vengeance coming after her again. And then when she is back in the real world she is kidnapped AGAIN and threatened with sexual violence numerous times from both human and New Species men.

She was threatened with sexual assault so many times I found it hard to actually pay attention to the rest of the story, because the pattern that was established early on here was that no matter what Lauren did, she was going to be threatened in some capacity.

I didn't really buy the love story here. But it was refreshing to have characters that actually talked to each other, didn't create problems for each other with silly issues of miscommunication and there was no token asshole character getting in the middle of their relationship.

On the whole this was a big miss for me.

But I'm a sucker so of course I will keep reading this series. Because mind-crack and all that.

THAT MAN IN THE PICTURE SHOULDN'T BE CALLED WRATH BUT SHOWERMAN.
The amount of showering he did in this book and the things he's done whilst that water spraying down his glorious body....hmmm

I didn't love the story but I didn't feel an overwhelming rage over it either.
The characters were nothing special apart from Wrath's shower scenes and his penis swelling at the end of lovemaking. I love the swelling bit. It enhances the experience and I did mention that piece of information in my Fury review.
RIDGES AND SWELLING ---> gimme GIMME!

*clears throat*

Where was I? Ah, yes the review, the characters.

Lauren. *shakes head* Lauren, Lauren, Lauren. Whilst she was described as chubby voluptuous heroine which was quite refreshing as she doesn't rock the usual anorexic figure, was always subjected to attempted rape.
I was almost ok with that. I kept telling myself it's part of the story.
But what I didn't agree on was when Vengeance tried to force himself on her, Wrath came to her rescue and then spread her legs for him....?

Really? AS IN REALLY?
Yes, we're humans, we're hormonal, we have needs, itch to scratch but you don't think about to soothe that need after an incident like attempted rape, do yah?
TSK.
So no matter how much Vektalling and RAAHOSHING (in the shower) have been shoved in my face, no, nothing. Did NOTHING to me. Yes, those scenes were gloriously hot but I couldn't really enjoy them.

Another thing, Lauren's friend Amanda annoyed me BIG TIME. She was just too much. I didn't like her at all apart from being a loyal friend.

I'm afraid the story line is growing feebler and feebler. Nothing is grabbing hold of my attention anymore.
I want something big to happen. Something different. Something that will put me on the edge of my seat while reading...like, maybe Justice getting captured *raises brows mildly* but this would be a wishful thinking seeing the sequels were all out already.
Maybe for future installments...?

Rating it 2 Swell-for-me-Wrath Stars

New Species special ops!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🤓😉🤨😊
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The Hero: Wrath (a.k.a. 919) - he was recently released from an experimental breeding facility run by former Mercile employees. He is devoted to the cause and wants to be assigned to the task force to free other New Species. He doesn’t yet have friends or loved ones, so has no problem putting his life on the line to rescue others like he was rescued. Plus he knows the task force is all males and doesn’t want to be around females as he feels it might be dangerous.

The heroine: Lauren - she is a real estate agent that gets a call from her boss that she has to show a client an industrial building after hours. She is slightly wary about this since the industrial park was empty at that time of day. She is even more apprehensive when she sees the warehouse is full of shipping containers. Then a few big men in tactical gear came out from behind one of the containers.

The Story: The men held Lauren and questioned her about her coworker who had an emergency which led to her boss calling her to go to the warehouse. She tried to tell them that she barely knew Brent and had nothing to do with anything, but they ended up taking her with them anyway. They questioned her for hours but she didn’t know anything so couldn’t tell them anyway. When one of the guys, named vengeance nearly claimed her, another named Wrath stepped in and stopped him from hurting her.

I liked Lauren, especially after she learned that the guys are New Species and was completely on their side. She finds out that her coworker Brent was really named Bill and used to be a technician for Mercile Industries and tortured, raped and killed some of the New Species. While Lauren was with the three men, she ended up staying in Wrath’s room and things got pretty steamy between them.

I don’t get the women in these books though. The guys are always worried they will be too rough with the females, and the ladies just say, well there are other things we can do. If it were me, I would say let’s go for it and if it hurts I will let you know and you can be more gentle. They always end up doing it, but it makes things take so much longer.

This book is told in dual points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Vanessa Chambers. Vanessa’s voice is terrific, it is soft and feminine and she is fantastic at doing a bunch of different voices for different characters. For a book that only has one narrator, she is a great choice.

**re-read** (not sure how many times I have read this book now) After this time around I can't stand her friend ever more. I never liked her but she gets on my last nerve. I don't like her at all(literally the only thing I like about her is she watches the h's cat I don't think she has any other redeemable qualities).not much else to say I love Wrath, I love New Species....... on to the next book!

I love me some Wrath!

Now this story has a slightly different tone than the other books in this series. But it still held alot of suspense. So I was happy about that. I love the ending to this one as well. Wrath will just capture your heart. Nuff said.

Another good installment to this series :)

Wrath's book was good for all of the action, abduction, etc. The love scenes were not hot, had very little if any foreplay before penetration, and the sex lasted a few lines.

description

I like a full page of foreplay and a paragraph or two of hot sex. More is better. Especially when I'm reading a Laurann Dohner book. But The plot was good so this one gets a 3 star. I was hesitant to place this book on my erotic paranormal shelf and only did due to the language used.

I really enjoyed this instalment of New Species, I remember 919 from the last book Brawn and felt so bad for him. I disagree with all the reviewers that said the writing was choppy and the dialogue not realistic. You have to take into account that Wrath is newly freed and has not been exposed to human language all that much.

I found it very steamy overall and kinda endearing that Wrath was so cautious and hesitant at first. He just wants to protect Lauren and make sure he doesn't hurt her if he gets a flashback of his abuse. Thankfully Shadow is there to back him up and lend support. They have a deep bond since they've been through so much together.

I got to see my favorite guy Brass...still hoping he gets a book (hint hint). I did find Amanda a bit annoying (and hilarious) but I'm curious to find out if she hooks up with Flame (another hottie). Lauren was so smart and brave and she never gave up on Wrath. He's so cute when he says that he will learn to be the best mate ever.

Wrath?

Well, this was a pretty nice read. It probably deserves more than 3 stars, but for some reason it didn't make me feel anything, so I can't give it a better rating.

Still, I really liked the plot. I loved the male character and the female one was pretty nice too.

What I didn't like... well, some parts were just too sweet! It was annoying, lol. Although well, if I think about it, that might be my fault, not the books'.

I should probably establish a few things before I really get into the meat of the review here.

First, I'm a big fan of this series. I freely acknowledge that this series is a Guilty Pleasure of mine, because frankly, the writing is pretty bad. Incredibly stilted dialog, ridiculous situations, and of course horrific abuse from caricature villains.

Normally, I enjoy it anyway.

This book, however, was an enormous let-down. I'm not quite sure if it's simply the fact that I've read the entire series and so "the formula" is getting really old for me, or if it's simply that this book jumped the shark for me.

I was excited to learn that the heroine is a little plump ("needs to lose 30 lbs"), and of course love seeing a traumatized New Species male get past his history and find love.

I even enjoyed the premise behind how Wrath and Lauren ended up spending time together.

However.

The dialog is stilted. True, it's always stilted, and Ms. Dohner has always been notorious for telling instead of showing in every book of hers that I've read, but it seemed quite a bit more pronounced in this one.

Wrath's supposed hatred of human females fell horribly flat, and Lauren's reactions to some of the events in the story were really unrealistic.

Add into that Lauren's friend Amanda and her over-the-top behavior, , and some very tame love scenes, and I was just flat out sorry I'd spent my money on this one.

2/5 Stars, and I can only hope that Tiger will be better, or I might truly be done with this series.

Really liked this latest entry into the lives of the NEW SPECIES by Laurann Dohnner.Enjoyed both hero and heroine, but the heroine's best friend Amanda STOLE the book in my opinion.Laugh out loud moments with her.Hope she gets paired with Flame as they seem to hit it off.I like how LD is introducing more of the background into the past lives of the NEW SPECIES when they were held captive, some of the backstories are really painful.LOVE this series and hope she keeps on churning them out.Looking forward to the next story in this series.I think that her stories are getting more developed and tighter in writing style. For me this book is a solid 4.5******* read.

What a nice addition to the New Species series!!! :)

I loved Wrath and his 'chubby', smart, little Lauren!

I think that's the best book of the series so far, and I liked both of the MCs. In some previous books either the NSO male or the human female sometimes got on my nerves and I was surprised with some pairings... ;)

IMHO, Lauren is the best NS series heroine since Doc Trisha in Book 2. She's not a slim beauty, she's a bit chubby, but she's also very clever and quick-witted, which saves her in many situations. She doesn't have to be a 'badass' heroine, like Jessie in Book 4 to be able to rescue his beloved from kidnappers - awkwardly and with some help like a 'normal' human being and not some superhero ;) - and also to save herself and 5 other New Species from the sick f*cks who were holding them.

Wrath, on the other hand, is the sweetest NS male in the whole series (I've read 6 first books so far) :) He's newly freed, still so unsure of himself and the world outside of the cage, yet he instantly feels what's good and what's bad. He's cute and so caring about Lauren and her well-being, even after the tremendous abuse (also sexual) he had suffered from Mercile Industries. He's strong enough to face and combat his fears and very thoughful towards new things, sensations and concepts. He simply stole my heart! ;)

I'm skipping 2 books now as I'm very curious of Shadow's story! He's Wrath's best friend, a brother by choice, and he also seems very different from other NSO males. He's intriguing :)

I'm so looking forward to Tiger's book - he's such a 'confirmed bachelor' in NS terms, never wanting anything to do with females and finding a mate. I'm very curious of a girl who finally ensnares him! ;) For now I need something 'sweeter', though... Hence, I'm starting Shadow's book now, especially keenly since the other MC is Beauty , a 'Gift Female' (finally!) and I'd really love to see her get some love and happiness ;)

You clean up nice, Lauren.” He winked. “You are one attractive woman.” Wrath growled behind her, probably only inches away. “She didn’t clean up. She changed clothes, bound her hair and put stuff on her face. Don’t stare at her that way.” Brian’s grin died and he shot Brass a worried look. “He growls at me a lot.”

I loved everything about this story. Wrath was such a good person. He was so scared of love and females in general because of what was done to him. It was so sick and I understand why he felt that way. To live as a free man and not claim a name. Gah!!! To be scared of females because of what was forced on you. Jeez. This could have very easily been a depressing and very dark story, but it wasn’t. It was sweet and full of love and acceptance. It was also very funny. Wrath and Lauren were so good together. Her friend Amanda was a little too much for me. She was exhausting. But then again, I’m such an introvert her small presence in the book drained me. I also think she’ll be back in Flame’s story but who knows.

Fresh off of a streak of Lora Leigh, and the seriously dark and twisted R.Lee Smith, I realized it had been a while since I could really let my brain go with a book. I needed some lighter fare that would be easier on my psyche. Lucky for me, Wrath had just been released, and I quickly downloaded it to my kindle. And I have to say, it delivered, in every way I expected it to:

*Bad dialogue, awkwardly written conversations, like this little gem:
"I like the name Shadow. I like to stand still and watch others."
and
"You will be my mate and do as I ask by taking me to Bill. You no longer belong to him and will carry my scent."
*A gruff, possessive alpha hero with issues
*A kind-hearted, boring-as-hell "everyday career woman" heroine
*The hero's likeable best friend who will surely be getting a book of his own

All in all, these books are starting to become more of a chore to read, I've decided. I think I still read them because I've read every one in the series so far, so it feels sort of like an obligation now. The storyline is not moving along at all, and each new book plays exactly the same. The dialogue is childish, overly simplistic, and awkward. It stood out a lot in this book, and frankly, makes the New Species look mentally deficient. They all sound child-like and cavemanish when they speak. They have simple minds and simple personalities. I almost find it kind of insulting to men, to be honest. I'll probably read Tiger, but if that too sucks, I'm declaring myself over this series.

I was hesitant to read this one because quite a few people had rated this low and I guess it just proved that I shouldn't feel influenced by others people's opinion, because I really enjoyed this.

I loved that the heroine was heavier and not stick thin. I loved that both the hero and heroine battled with their own insecurities and I love it because it shows me a vulnerable side of their characters and appeals to me emotionally.

The heroine and her best friend, Amanda, we're hilarious together. I desperately hope something does happen between Flame and Amanda. Flame deserves his own mate and Amanda is more than infatuated with him. I wonder if they will get their own book. I sure hope so.

Wrath was adorable and I wasn't expecting that. Every time he voiced or thought that he so badly wanted to be the best mate for Lauren and you could just see how badly he wanted it and how much he was trying... It was so sweet, heartwarming and completely swoon worthy.

I know the plot is formulaic and I'm really hoping that the next few books will have something different. And even though some of it was recycled material, I still enjoyed it.

Tiger has played quite large roles in some of the previous books so I'm very curious to see who he will be mated with and what their relationship will be like. I'm looking forward to driving into his book and getting to know him even better.

I loved getting to know "919" Wrath, after we met him under such awful circumstances in Brawn. :) He takes a job with the task force that saves New Species outside of homeland because he hasn't been free for long, and living in such close quarters wouldn't be so hard on him.

When Lauren Henderson, a real estate agent, comes face to face with some New Species males in a case of mistaken identity she knows she is in big trouble.

Wrath. who was tortured with videos of human women finds himself tempted by the blonde bombshell. He doesn't want to hurt but fears his conditioning will cause problems.. This leads to LOTS of steamy showers.

Lets just talk about Amanda for a minute!!! ERMIGOSH. She and Flame MUST get together!!!

Before i start....i just want to say that bookcover is awesome.

Ok.....this one's quite interesting - we have Brawn, a newly freed New Species who's joined the human task force (the one that rescues New Species that are still in captivity) falling for a human female that was mistakenly thought to be part of the Mercile staff still at lose.

Of course there's the expected instant-attraction between them but Brawn is reluctant in pursuing Lauren because she's human a.k.a very fragile beings therefore will not be able to endure the rough and intense passion of NS style shagging (duhhh....really....after awhile this gets kind of old). There were parts of the story where Lauren was shamed because she's "over-weight" therefore "desperate" for someone to want her (a real and common misconception among people who are image-prejudiced). I really like the lead gal in this one because she's really smart and funny. But i really like her best friend Amanda because she's just hilarious! I wonder if she's going to have her own HEA with a NS guy.

All in all, this one's quite an adventurous ride. There're multiple kidnappings, suspense, sweet moments, really funny dialogues (between Lauren and Amanda mostly) and lots of super-sexy moments (especially the shower scene. Brawn. YASSSSSS!!!!)

Ooops...heads up: there are also two scenes of attempted sexual assault, so be warned.

A fun read. I'm on to my next one.

It was a good story! And Wrath was hot!
Wearing a towel or nothing at all!

I didn't like the whole mixed up with her identity so much and of course what happened with Vengeance!

Lauren was funny, cute and smart! Really smart!
And i also liked her friend Angela, she was really great and helpfull..
I hope her story with Flame ends up well..

Wrath also was nice.. But not the alpha male i wanted.. Yes he was sexy and protective but i certainly wanted more.. And i loved that he had short hair.. He was a canine and sensitive.. aww!

The adventurous side of the book was really great and i loved 140 and his story.. I hope everything turns out good for him and his mate..

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- 140 really made this story for my..
- Lauren was very calm at many crucial moments
- Angela was funny..
- The characters felt distant at some points.
- The end was nice..
- I was happy to see Brass..

Love this story. It's been awhile since I read the New Species series and this book reminded me why it's one of my favorites. This one of course is about Wrath, who I remember and remember his story. I'm so glad he could find love! His honey Lauran is very likeable too. I hope the next will let us know what's up with Flame and Amanda (crossing fingers).

This book is one of my favorites in the series so far. It was quite different to the others and I loved that. Both mcs are gorgeous. I love Lauren because she is such a strong and intelligent woman and she knows what she wants and talks about it and her fears. She was very honest but really good when she had to lie.
Wrath was such a sweetheart. I love how he cared so much about her and while being possessive sometimes it wasn’t too much.
There were lots of cute and funny moments and again a lot of thrilling once. I just love how Laurann Dohner always gets me on the edge of my seat with her writing.
Also there was no dub-consent in this book which I appreciate a lot and which is not seldom in her books.
Love love love this book.
