This is a face-passed thriller about a toddler, Katie Jones, who goes missing at a beach and is presumed to have drowned. 26 years later an unknown woman shoots dead a local GP and then turns the gun on herself. The woman turns out to be Katie Jones. Local PI firm QuicK (Sarah Kenny and John Quigley) is hired to find out what happened to Katie and where she has been all these years. The investigations are split between Dublin and London with strong, interesting characters and some funny situations emerging between them. [return]I liked this book, the storyline was original and interesting. I wanted to find out what had happened to Katie and why, but the development of the other characters such as Sarah and John was also an integral part of the book that made the story all the more interesting. This is the type of storyline that would interest Hollywood so you never know, it may well be turned into a movie at some stage! Well worth the read.

This is an excellent thriller. I loved the premise of a missing child turning up many years later and the author handles it really well. We feel the pain of the mother who thought her daughter was dead all those years, the adopted father who learns how he was betrayed and the trial of destruction the event leaves behind.

I love the Quick series, the lives of the e detectives are every bit as interesting as their cases. And luckily I have lots more of them to read 📚 🙂

Exciting page turner which makes you jump in all the right places. Private investigators look into the case of a missing woman after many years and what they discover leads to a whole new chapter in the lives of many. The partnership of the PI's is a story in itself. Another good Author and a very decent read.

Quick moving book that focused on filling in 26 years of a missing girls life. It was easy to read even though there was a lot to keep up with (new characters kept popping up). Not my usual read and not as graphic and hard edged but I still enjoyed it. Made a refreshing change from my usual choice.

Wow, another Hunt novel and I enjoyed it just as much if not just a little bit more than the last one!! Again I loved all the Irish references as it was great to see the Irish accents and ways described in a crime novel.

Its based on the same characters again and I really am starting to root for John and Sarah to get together. Maybe in the next book! The plot is superb and really original for a crime story. I couldnt put it down and am really glad that at the start of the year I've already got a really good read under my belt! I just love Hunts way with words she's a brilliant author and I'll definitely be enlarging my Hunt collection in the near future.
