Second book in the Ludlow series and I love it! It's such a refreshing change to also see the alpha hero in a state of semi-permanent doubt on where he stands with the heroine. A love story with many other facets to it: funny, witty remarks, suspense, heartbreaking drama, betrayal, hot passionate romance and so much more. I love the way Lucas loves Becca - all-encompassing and unconditional. Just what Becca needs to help her move on from her past and present hurdles. Wonderful read!
I wanted a hot romance, and once again C.C. MacKenzie delivered. This book started where many romance novels leave off, and then moved to back off (with all of the attendant angst) and then moved where you wanted to go. Nice description of the high-stakes world of choreography. Shared this book with a friend whose daughter is a dancer.
Wow I thought The first one good the second is even better.. I just love how Lucas and Becca story came together I found myself feeling sad for lucas in some parts of the story. But then I found myself Laughing and ginggling through out the book .. Can not wait to read the next one ...
Why do authors make heroines that are so blind! Instead of seeing all the good the hero is/has done, she instead bickers over every little thing and blows everything out of proportion. I anticipate this behavior in the beginning of a book and then enjoy the character development from there. But this heroine was blowing hot and cold from the beginning until about 80% of the book.
She would get angry frequently and refuse to see reason. This would have been a 5 star if the heroine wasn't such a shrew!
Really enjoyed nicely written just seemed a little rushed at the end, would liked to know Justin's out come, but loved the fact that Bronte and Nico were in it
This is my first book by CC MacKenzie and I totally loved it.
The story starts with Becca scrambling to find her panties after a one night stand. She can't get away fast enough. Not because she didn't enjoy her time, but because she is embarrassed by it. She has never done such a thing.
It is also her first time with a man in two years since losing her husband and then her baby. But Becca is not the only one to have suffered a great loss. Lucas has lost his first wife at a very early age. My heart just went out for both the Hero and Heroine in this book. I just cannot imagine what they both went through. And who wouldn't fall in love with Lucas? This man fell head over heels in love with Becca from across the room. And yes it was believable. He also was protective of her. And when he heard how much she had lost ... WOW what a man. Also he was there for Becca when she was grieving the most, he just showed up and took care of her.
Even though this story dealt with a lot of loss it did have a bit of humor in it also, which I love. I laughed pretty hard when Becca and Bronte got back from their spa day at what they found, too cute.
I loved how you read about other characters in the book but they didn't seem to overtake the main characters. I really liked what Lucas did with her business partner, what a jerk. But Becca showed what a true tender heart she has after being betrayed by someone she believed to be her best friend.
Looking forward to reading more books by CC MacKenzie.
Another great book by C.C. MacKenzie. If you are looking for toe curling passion along with a great entertaining story than you have found it when you pick up A Stormy Spring.
This story centers on Becca Wainwright a 28 year old who is trying to carry on life after loosing her husband and her unborn child 18 months earlier. As a Tony award nominee, she immerses herself in a successful business of Choreographing stage and screen dance numbers so she will not have to face life's challenges. She neither wants or was looking for a man. She was finished with the heart ache that love would bring into her life. She wanted to forget all that she lost. That is until she decides to step out of her self-imposed prison and meets the most incredible man that makes her forget everything. And after a stormy night in the strong arms of Lucas, Becca finds her life has changed, forever. Famously single, Lucas Del Garda’s passions are wealth, celebrity and power. One look at Becca and he starts to believe in "love at first sight".
You will not be disappointed if you pick up A Stormy Spring by C.C. MacKenzie.
Love when a book starts out with a little naughtiness. Becca trying to find her bra and not wake up the man in the bed...I started with book 3 in the Ludlow Hall Series and loved Rosie and of course Alexander and couldn't wait to read another book by this author. Although 3 is my favorite so far this book is great too. I enjoyed the characters, getting to know them and couldn't stop laughing in parts and felt for Luca in other parts, this author has a way of telling a story, I was drawn in. Love Luca he's my favorite in this book, he's sexy and sweet and I just enjoyed his parts. Sex was hot as hell, Becca loves to please her man. They are perfect for each other and enjoyed how they got their HEA. I can't wait to read more my CC Mackenzie. 4 stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
This is the second book in C. C. Mackenzie’s Ludlow Hall series and it does not disappoint. I truly enjoy Mrs. Mackenzie’s writing style. I found myself laughing out loud, shedding a tear, and fanning myself during the steamy scenes. This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions with the characters. If you read and enjoyed the first book in the series, Reckless Nights in Rome, you will get to see Nico and Bronte again. The good thing about this book is even though it is a second in a series you can read this book on its own and be fine. Overall I enjoyed this book and recommend it along with the other books in the series.
Oh My Gosh!! I can't even put into words how much I loved this book. I love Lucas and Becca together, swooning here. This was a perfect, and I mean perfect love story - this is one I will reread often. I'm so glad I discovered C.C. MacKenzie's books.
