Volumul de faţă cuprinde cele mai importante scrieri ale lui Moreno despre psihodramă şi sociometrie. După ce în prima parte sunt prezentate ideile sale filosofice şi principiile care îi întemeiază teoriile, partea a doua este dedicată conceptelor şi tehnicilor specifice psihodramei (spontaneitate, rol, catharsis) şi sociometriei (testul sociometric). Partea a treia conţine protocoale ale şedinţelor de psihoterapie conduse de Moreno, iar ultima parte, fragmente autobiografice.
Jacob Levy Moreno, născut la Bucureşti în 1889, a studiat la Viena medicina, matematicile şi filosofia. A întemeiat psihodrama, sociometria şi s-a numărat printre pionierii psihoterapiei de grup.
