Last night I read this manga online, the same with Chise Ogawa's other mangas, the artwork of this manga is just lovely! And the guys are all so cute!

I give this manga 3 stars doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. However, despite the romance is interesting to an extent and the characters are refreshing (a womanizing, flirting uke and a serious seme), I really don't like the uke because despite his handsome face and his charming ways, he must be the most pathetic uke I've ever seen in the recent years! Clumsy ukes are cute only when they are not a down right coward!

Ich wurde verführt von einem interessanten Titel und dem schönen Zeichenstil. Viel mehr hat dieser Manga aber meiner Meinung nach nicht zu bieten. Sehr belanglose Story, wie man sie schon tausend Mal gelesen hat und irgendwelche Emotionen, die ich mir bei dem Titel versprochen habe, kamen ebenfalls nicht auf. Dazu kommt noch, dass das ganze (wie leider viel zu oft in diesem Genre) moralisch recht fragwürdig beginnt. Denn der Protagonist vergewaltigt den anderen, während der betrunken ist. (Und jammert danach rum, dass ihm alles wehtut, weil er zu hastig war lol) Toller Start für die ganz große Liebe. An dieser Stelle hätte ich den Manga fast schon wieder weggelegt... Wäre nun auch kein Verlust gewesen, denn die Story ist zudem noch wahnsinnig kurz - kürzer als man denkt, denn bevor die Seiten des Mangas zu Ende sind, kommen noch zwei Bonusstorys. Toll, aber dafür habe ich keine 7 Euro bezahlt. Naja, der Zeichenstil ist wirklich wirklich schön und es ist ausnahmsweise mal nicht sie absolute uke-seme-Beziehung, wie sie klischeehaft in den meisten BL-Mangas vorkommt. Ein winzig kleiner Pluspunkt, der den Manga vor der niedrigsten Bewertung bewahrt. Trotzdem werde ich von dem Zeichner nichts mehr lesen.

Paket bukunya dateng di minggu pertama bulan puasa, bikin saya kontan mikir, "Ini godaan setan mana lagi?" (lol) Untung toko daringnya bersedia ngebungkus bukunya dengan plastic warp, rapi banget pula, membantu si Gie menahan diri untuk gak intip-intip.

Btw, waktu buku ini rilis September tahun lalu, saya udah mempertimbangkan untuk beli, tapi batal gara-gara kebanyakan mikir ahahaha... Kejadian yang sama dengan buku "Kaori no Keishou"-nya Nakamura Asumiko (yang padahal kalo beli first press di Animate bisa dapet illust card--atau postcard ya?--bergambar abang-adik versi masih pelajar di bathtub).


Euh, fokus... fokus nge-review!

Jujur, saya kurang ter-hook sama cerita pendahulunya, Gosan no Heart. Kurang greget, gitu. Makanya waktu muncul kabar akan ada spin-off yang tokoh utamanya Udou Abang (karena Gosan no Heart itu cerita tentang Udou Adik), saya gak begitu antusias menyambutnya--meski saya tau saya akan tetep baca, karena toh ini karya Chise~

Awalnya, Owaranai Fukou ini dibuat gak lama setelah Gosan no Heart, udah bertahun-tahun lalu, cuma sekadar "tambahan" cerita utama Gosan no Heart. Kalau gak salah, hanya 3 bab. Pokoknya sampai konflik utama Udou Abang dan seme-nya selesai. Gak nyangka bakal dilanjutin di tahun 2015 sampai cukup untuk memenuhi full 1 tankoubon.

Satu-satunya kelemahan buku ini--kelemahan utama!--adalah: karakter seme-nya, Kiyotake, kurang tergali.
Pemicunya, yah, karena seluruh bab buku ini--bahkan sampai bonus chapter-nya--menggunakan PoV Udou Abang, si uke.
Ini pendapat saya aja sih, rasanya kurang adil jika hanya pemikiran satu tokohnya yang diketahui pembaca, padahal romansa kan esensinya mengisahkan hubungan antara dua tokoh utamanya. Saya kepengen tau pemikiran Kiyotake sejelas-jelasnya, baik sebelum maupun sesudah dia menjalin hubungan sama Udou Abang!


Cerita ini penuh dengan ke-insecure-an dalam hubungan. Dan lumayan realistis, jadi mudah merasuk(?) ahahaha...
Mungkin ada orang-orang yang gak akan suka cerita ini karena kesannya si Udou Abang terlalu pengecut, rendah diri, ngejengkelin, dan semacamnya lah, tapi menurut saya karakternya justru manusiawi karena gak semua orang bisa menjalani percintaan yang penuh keberanian dan straight-forward terhadap pasangannya.

Meski kisah Kiyotake dan Udou Abang bertambah beberapa bab dari yang awalnya hanya 3 bab, saya tetep merasa 3 bab awal yang paling berkesan. Nyelekitnya gak nanggung-nanggung deh (lol), salah satu cerita yang sering saya baca ulang pas pengen nangis ahahaha~
Mencintai satu orang selama 8 tahun padahal orang itu benci sama kita, duh saya lemah sama karakter begini. Mesti saya anggep apa Udou Abang ini? Terlalu setia atau terlalu bego? Tapi saya suka sih :")

Yang membuat Udou Abang berbeda dari para cewek (untuk komik shoujo) atau para uke (untuk komik BL) kebanyakan yang acapkali bersikap seolah mereka "korban perasaan" (dan biasanya berujung nangis-nangis), adalah kecenderungannya untuk menunjukkan sikap ala casanova bangsat, playboy kelas kakap tukang mainin baik pria maupun wanita; demi menyembunyikan perasaan cintanya.
Apalagi kalau di depan Kiyotake, Udou Abang sikapnya makin berengsek dan ngejengkelin. Sengaja, supaya si Kiyotake makin benci sama dia--dan emang pada akhirnya Kiyotake sampai ngedendam kesumat sama dia.

Beruntungnya, Kiyotake ini karakternya simpel. Kalau benci orang, dia gak bakal nutup-nutupin (makanya bab 1-2 itu rada-rada harsh karena Kiyotake gak tanggung-tanggung merendahkan dan menghina Udou Abang). Tapi kalau cinta, dia juga gak bakal nutup-nutupin. Pasangan yang klop banget buat Udou Abang yang cenderung hobi bersikap kontradiktif dan menyembunyikan perasaannya.

Saya sempet ikut-ikutan ber-"hah?" sama Udou Abang pas sekonyong-konyong Kiyotake bilang dengan santainya di bab 4, "Bukannya kita udah pacaran?"
Rasanya pengen teriak bareng Udou Abang, "Sejak kapaaaan???"
Gak ada kata-kata "Maukah kau pacaran denganku?" atau semacamnya. Malahan kata-kata yang nyakitin diri sendiri dari Udou Abang:
"Aku tidak bisa mengakhiri perasaan cinta kubawa selama 8 tahun ini, maukah kau mengakhirinya untukku?"
Uwooooo!!! Bagian yang paling nyelekit apalagi sambil liat Udou Abang sesenggukan sambil megangin Kiyotake!!!

Dan, dengan karakteristik Udou Abang, tentu aja dia gak serta-merta nunjukin betapa bahagianya dia waktu Kiyotake menganggapnya sebagai kekasih.
Sepanjang bab 4 ke belakang, cerita berfokus pada sifat low self-esteem Udou Abang. Bagaimana dia selalu membenci penampilan dirinya yang sama sekali gak sesuai dengan para gadis yang disukai Kiyotake dahulu, bagaimana dia merasa telah merenggut kebahagiaan dan masa depan Kiyotake karena menerima jadi kekasihnya, dan kenapa dia mesti terlahir sebagai cowok.
Udou Abang bahkan sampai "mengirim" cewek untuk Kiyotake ke hotel sebagai ganti dirinya. Hiks, Babaaaang kenapa dikau begituuuuu? ;;;____;;;

Jadi, sesuai judulnya "The Story of Never Ending Unhappiness", Udou Abang terus-menerus merasa tidak bahagia meski udah jadi pacar Kiyotake.
Gak semua pembaca suka cerita duka-lara penuh nestapa(?) begini.

Tapi, bab tambahan terakhir berjudul "Kore kara no Shiawase ni Tsuite no Hanashi" (The Story of Happiness From Now On) sangaaaaaat manis penuh kebahagiaan~~~ <333

Okay, you can officially call me overly optimistic when it comes to manga by Chise Ogawa. I mean, there's always hope that it could be good, right? Right? So, I knew buying this volume that it could go both ways with this one. I hate Caste Heaven by Ogawa but Ein Spiel names Liebe was somewhat decent. Let me keep it short: Nope, hopes were smashed. Guy 1 rapes guy 2 while guy 2 is drunk and passed out. Guy 1 feels bad about it and wallows in his own misery because he loved him from day one but can't have him so he sabotages his relationships. First guy 2 is mad, but then kind of feels sorry for Guy 1 and falls for him. I mean, WHAT?! Sure, there are people with stories like that in the real world, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

J’ai préféré cette histoire à celle du petit frère car elle est plus profonde et mieux construite. On se base sur un passé commun plein de ressentiments, de quiproquos, de sentiments inavoués, etc. Ce passif fait que j’ai trouvé les personnages moins creux et plus attachants que Miki et Udô.

Le développement de leur histoire est aussi plus fluide. Je n’ai pas eu la sensation d’avoir des coupures et de sauter d’un problème à un autre, comme ça a été le cas dans Le cœur de la méprise. J’ai aussi aimé que les sentiments qu’ils ont l’un pour l’autre ne soient pas forcément dans les mêmes proportions. Il y a un déséquilibre mais ils sont prêts à travailler dessus et cette relation plus mature m’a plu.
Le seul point qui m’a dérangé dans ce one-shot et c’est un point non négligeable, c’est le manque de consentement entre Kiyotake et Udô. Je sais bien qu’il fallait un élément déclencheur pour démarrer l’histoire qu’il y a entre eux, et que le passage en question est en adéquation avec le caractère du personnage au moment des faits, mais une petite phrase, plus tard dans le récit, pour dire que ce n’est pas un comportement à adopter n’aurait pas été de refus… Heureusement que la suite tient la route et que j’ai bien accroché parce que cette scène au début du mangas m’avait bien refroidi.

Tomo spin of de Heart of miscalculation donde, además de canela de Miki y Udô, Chise se centra en la historia del hermano mayor de Udô, Takayuki.

Después de 8 años sin verse, Takayuki se reencuentra con Kiyotake un antiguo compañero del club de baloncesto en secundaria. Takayuki, enamorado en secreto de Kiyotake siempre intentó frustrar la vida amorosa del chico, deseando poder ser más bajo, tener el pelo largo y ser una mujer. Pero las cosas dan un giro cuando el día de su recuento cuando algo pasa entre los dos.

Siendo un tomo único, bastante cortito, ha lar mucho de la obra es bastante spoiler. Decir que sigue la tónica de otras obras de Ogawa que mezcla la comedia y el drama con su estilo de dibujo limpio, y bonito que es tan suyo. No esperéis una historia elaborada porque no lo es: es sencilla pero muy disfrutable. Sin pretensiones. Para mí está en la misma línea que la principal, pero esta pareja me ha gustado más.

Probablemente la quinta estrella es mi vena fujoshi hablando, pero realmente ame esta historia de Ogawa. A pesar de lo breve y lo mucho que ha querido cubrir en un solo volumen ha logrado engancharme con el desarrollo de Udou. Mi única critica va en torno a la pareja del protagonista, me he quedado con la sensación de que a él también le hacia ruido Udou desde el colegio, pero de una leve sospecha no pasa y desearía otro volumen que cubriera su lado de la historia.

I love when the gay friend/rival pins for the straight guy for years.. it is bittersweet; the perfect amount of angst and cuteness. Poor Takayuki suffers so much for his unrequited love for Kiyotake. Still, that he had sex with Kiyotake while he was drunk and asleep... and at first it seemed like Kiyotake was feeling sorry for Takayuki, reason why he kissed him... however, it ends well.

A huge lack of consent (and trust) in the relationship and honrstly a not so likeable character. He seems to be causing most of his unhappiness and does not seem to want to better it. Instead always opting to seek for sympathy while rubbing his negativity off on others. Storyline asside, the illustration is amazing!

Siempre consideraré especiales las obras de mis chicos Udou. Con estas obras Chise se superó a sí misma y me entregó muchísimas cosas que no esperaba. Estas obras son también algunos de mis tesoros y son, por supuestisimo, parte de mis imprescindibles.
