Jon Ross didn’t think the vacation he had booked with a good friend was going to be anything more than time off, relaxing, and exploring Europe. But when he realizes a boy he had a crush on from high school is on the same luxury cruise ship as he is, Jon gets an unexpected surprise. Trae Ambrose figured he’d join a couple of his friends to have a pleasant holiday. Life at home was not good at the moment, and getting away to give himself time to think was too tempting to pass up. What he didn’t expect was seeing the boy he had kissed behind the high school twenty years ago. And after twenty years, Trae had no idea the teenager he had feelings for, yet could not act on those impulses at the time, would become such a strikingly beautiful man. As the two meet up onboard, Jon’s recollection of the crush he had on Trae and the pain after Trae did not return his affection, makes this thirty-five year old feel as if he is back in high school once more. And to add to the complication of their mutual attraction? Trae is married. As liquor flows, and the memories of their first kiss begins to haunt the two men, their fate seems sealed. And while cruising the high seas, a reunion occurs. The consequences of their actions will change their lives forever.

I didn't read nearly enough to even consider rating. Suffice to say I don't think I will be revisiting this story simply because if it takes 19 pages to get from L.A. to Amsterdam how long will it take to get the actually story to get going?
First off, I don't tell what the story is about in my reviews...that's what the synopsis is for. I must first say that GA Hauser is one of my all time favorite M/M authors and her writing style and storytelling grows with every new novel. With that said, 'The Reunion' was superior storytelling. If their were awards given for set design in novels like they do on the Emmys, then GA would win hands-down with this one. For the readers that have never ventured out of the country, this author did a masterful job of creating the scenes...and their were many. I felt as if I was on the cruise liner, I was propelled onto the streets of Amsterdam with the MCs, the tours, the port of calls were wonderfully but not overly described. Only few authors can perfect that technique and GA has been one that could for a very long time. The angst was killing me softly, but I understand the difference in making the angst annoying verses creating the perfect sexual tension between the characters so that you are riveted to every word and ever sentence until the finale. Absolutely remarkable. I will not continue to rattle on unnecessarily. This book was by far one of my favorites (I have so many from her already), it was 5 plus stars easily and is highly recommended for male/male lovers. As a new author to this genre, I will be honored to one day call GA Hauser a peer...as of now...I will call her my inspiration. Happy Reading
Cruises are a time away from time. So when two men who shared a kiss in high school reunite nineteen years later, can their travel into the past turn into a road map to the future?
Little do Trae Ambrose and Jon Ross, both thirty-five, know that sailing along the coast of northern Europe will bring them together after so many years. On the verge of a divorce from his wife of one year, deeply closeted Florida lawyer Trae is sharing a huge cabin with his married friends George and Liz.
Gay Hollywood actor Jon is sharing his much smaller cabin with his fifty-five-year-old gay friend Ruben. While Jon is often mistaken for actor James Marsden, Ruben is happy to tell the people they meet that Jon's a famous actor and that they are a couple, both misconceptions Jon is quick to correct.
When Trae and Jon recognize each other onboard, they happily fall into high school habits, trying to avoid detection when they're together and leaving secret notes to each other in a book in the ship's library. However, it's not long before they, George, Liz, and Ruben are meeting for drinks, and while George and Liz don't suspect that Trae and Jon are falling in love, Ruben does and is jealous.
What I would call a beach read and probably not a very good one at that. Basically a gay romance at sea where two men who once kissed in High School meet up unexpectedly while one is the midst of a break up with a wife who seems to pretty much hate his guts. Anyone remember the old Love Boat on TV? Well I don't think this plot was even good enough for that. I know, kind of harsh but that's my take on this book.
I don't know what to say about that book. Review was pulling so I told my self I will try it. BUT there are a lot of holes in that story plot. Also ending is very open so that made me a little bit cranky.
Interesting characters, but the book was way longer than it had to be. So much of the middle could have been cut out. How many visits to the cocktail lounge do we need? Then to have the hfn ending and being told to wait for the sequel. That was too much.
Jon and Trae meet on a cruise after many years apart. Loved the story and most of the characters. I have a feeling next time there won't be as many characters to love but probably more to hate. I can't wait.
Long, boring for most, main characters too old for them strange behavior. I'm not sure is I'm more sorry than mad to Trae. This book tell more on activities of cruise ship through north Europe than the life and sentiments of protagonists. I got tired just reading of eating, drinking and going around .
