Most alien romances have heroines that are very Griffindor-ish when they’re trying to get out of their alien’s captivity (i.e screaming, hitting, or spitting at them). That is a totally valid response to being held captive by an alien, but it gets a bit repetitive after reading many alien romance books.
This protagonist played it very Slytherin and tried to go along with things and placate everyone in order to avoid getting hurt. In all honesty, I feel like I would react similarly in that situation.
I was a little disappointed by the protagonist’s answer to the human group at the end of the book, but again, that was refreshing because it is so different to what most heroines would do in this genre.
I liked this overall, tbh. It felt closer to how I would behave in this situation (although I might have responded differently at the end).
At first glance I thought that this would be a bizarre book, with a strange story. I confess that the cover looking as a manga story made me think that. But as I was reading, I found interesting the whole aspect of the story unfolds.
A human is made captive by a people from another planet, whose women are extremely low in number and can no longer conceive. Desperate to increase their population, they found out that human women have all the ability to conceive with them. It is clear that this principle was not accepted by humans and a war was fought for a long time. But due to a strange virus began to decimate the human, and these space visitors had the vaccine to eradicate this evil, humans had no choice but to accept the bargain.
Maritza Santos was the perfect choice. No family, no kids, no past, she was taken to meet her "husband".
The curious thing is that she supposed to have a certain disgust for any situation in which she was involved. After all, she was kidnapped!!! But her "husband" becomes someone understandable, although severe on which his orders are fulfilled. However with her he always shows caring and patient.
A short book, but with engaging story line. I loved the final (cliffhanger but what can we do?) In which when she starts to get used to her captive situation, an opportunity to get rid of everything that arises. And now? Whom she will be faithful?
Lord Elentinus and Maritza. Maritza wakes up in a 'space yacht' as the new bride of Lord Elentinus. The new overlord of Earth, 2000 years in the future. The world building is potentially intriguing but you really see very little of it, as the reader is stuck on the yacht with Maritza. The love is pretty instant, and luke warm. Lord Elentinus is about as charismatic as a tub of ice-cream. Yummy, but not necessarily good for you and easily forgotten. His henchman/personal servant, is a complete asshat. You wonder when he's going to murder Maritza and if he murdered the first bride. But, the story is kinda slow because of lack of characters, insta love and basically not much happening. So despite it only being 60 pages, it kept losing my attention. I wished Maritza had had more gumption. I also really didn't like the reader, Rose DeMarco. She has a whiny voice and no particular talent for reading. The whole thing ends on a cliffhanger, so I got the second one, and it too ends on a cliffhanger... I think the low rating is mostly because it wasn't romantic, and Maritza is a doormat. Some people might be offended with the sex scene
I did like the cover art. A nice change from the usual naked, headless, legless man's torso. ; )
Cover art above average for a sci-fi erotica, writing not so much.Slightly unbelieveable. Read the preview..and pretty sure me paying and reading it wont happen.
Hello lovely people! I'm trying to get up to date with my reviews lately. I read faster than I review...So it's not easy. Anyways...On to the subject at hand!
What caught my eyes to read this book truthfully was the manga style cover! The Alien looks so gorgeous and the style is impeccable! Then I read the blurb...Another alien abduction theme novel...
Since it was short...I concluded that I should give it chance, like I do with all books. And I feel strange! It's a short story based on an abducted human future bride. Who is forced to court and reproduce with a drop dead gorgeous alien who looks like a demon with silver hair and horns! Which the cover shows in detail! He is based on the classical sexy manga oni(Japanese demon). There are various types of onis, but the silver hair is a common trait for the powerfull and sexy ones. Japanese love silver hair on powerful characters, good or bad. Especially the bad guys.. Very appealing! Him not the topic
For him...
Points to consider:
a) Heroine is very willing to do anything to survive. She is a different type of fighter. Instead of passionate bad-ass. She is more the intelligent and diplomatic to achieve the greater benefit. The novel is from her point of view, and I was very satisfied in some aspects of her survival personality. Very good heroine. She is interesting, because she has the will to endure, learn and take advantage of the little tools she has at reach. Very interesting character indeed!Maritza is neither weak or whiny...She's different.
b) Lord Elentinus... You get to know very little about him, except for the dialogues. And it's a pity really because he is sort of a different type of alien. He has power, beauty and seems very wise. I can't help but think that in all his astonishing kindness there is a wicked side to him. He is not the passion, protective warrior alien type. He is a lord, a powerful man who has another culture and responsibilities. His summarized background was very odd and tells us he's more like someone who fought to get where he is currently(politically speaking, and that is way cool!
c) His assistant is incredibly annoying and in certain aspects a turn on. In other aspects not so much. But he is an interesting spice to the way the three relate to each other. Very wicked and harsh character with meaning and duty.
d)All in all the book has good pacing. The dialogues are very good but the descriptions of the character's actions not so much.
So what brings me down?
1) It's short and it deserves more. More depth! More descriptions! More details!
2)It's summarized...and in half way through it you'll notice that the author pushed the "BIG" forward button! Like really speeding things up. So not nice!
3) The ending was a cliffhanger after the forbidden " FAST FORWARD" in my list.
To conclude its an entertaining, sort of refreshing point of view on survival. I liked it. But I'm not head over heels madly in love with it... Soooo...
I think 3 is a good rating for it! Lets see how the next one goes.I definitely recommend the read to entertain!
1.5 stars: I love alien-human romance, but just couldn't buy some of the plot points of this book.
SPOILERS
Heroine is abducted and carried 2,000+ years into the future where she'll be the wife and breeder of an alien whose race has conquered humanity. She and her alien hubby will copulate, and once she conceives, the fetus will be surgically removed from her body and gestated artificially. The goal is to conceive as much as possible in order to repopulate the alien race.
My issues: -Why didn't the aliens just harvest all of the heroine's eggs and fertilize them by IVF or some such method? If they have the technology to gestate artificially and to travel through time, why is IVF not an option? The situation begged the question, but was not explained in the book. Why did they even need to marry? Her main purpose was to breed.
-The alien husband asked if the heroine was a virgin. She was embarrassed to say no, she'd been with one guy. *roll eyes* However, the aliens had already done a complete physical examination of her to the point where they removed all of her body hair below the neck and to the point where they fixed some problem she had that caused her to have (quote) "monster periods." Wouldn't they have discovered that this 25 year old woman wasn't a virgin?
-The heroine thought that she would create 24 fetuses a year. It wasn't clear that the fertility drugs they gave her would spark double ovulation. But if that was the case, why only two? Fertility drugs these days seem more productive than that. The timing and process didn't seem right.
-Character development of the alien mate was poor.
-The initial sex scene was non-consensual, complete with drug use, but the drugs weren't necessary. She was willing. The alien explained that it was also to prevent pain due to anatomical differences. So then, why not just offer a pain-killer or pain-preventer without the forced drugging, headtrip and lack of full bodily control?
Too many questions and issues for such a short book.

This isn't a book or even a short story. If you want to spend 4$ on a good book try Grim by M K Eidem. I don't know these authors, but I know what kind of books or novellas I like. Alien brides is a dud
Surprisingly satisfying. I honestly enjoyed this book. Trigger** warning there is a non/con scene described as dubious con that will offend some readers but I found it added to the mystic of the hero? The peen was a bit too "alien" for my taste but it didn't detract from the story imho.
I was surprised at the low rating, but upon looking at many of the reviews, they are from people who aren't in to this genre. I actually quite liked it. The whole series in fact, which actually should just be combined to make one book.
At any rate, I thought the premise good, and the characters were fantastic. Throughout the series (I'll just review them all here) there is a wide mix of rich characters. The author doesn't play it sage with her characters. Some are difficult to like, some show a mix of good and bad qualities, and all of them are REAL. She even shows unfavorable aspects of the characters that have been made loveable. It just adds to their depth. The situation the story takes place in is not an easy one. Again, it just makes it more real. I thought it was quite well done.
Maritza is taken from all that she knows, so she learns what she can about her captors, figures out they are a war mongering race who conquer and enslave, she is even future roofed—awake but basically paralyzed, she just accepts this—and at the end of it all, when asked by the resistance to save other women in her predicament but with far less “kind” captors, she tells them it’s not her problem....fuck this. I’m blacklisting this author that’s for fucking sure. I thought I would be getting a heart warming romp through space, but instead I got—this.

Third time reading this one and I never thought that I could give another star hahaha. I decided not to be too much greedy this pandemic especially if I enjoy the story.
2ND READ IN 2018: 3 STARS!
1st READ IN 2016: 3 STARS! The cover is cute. The story is intriguing. It's a cliffhanger :-)
-1⭐ Si una raza alienígena te secuestra para tengas 24 hijos por año, no te vas muy contenta a que te encierren en una nave y te enamoras solo porque no te maltratan Que libro tan más estúpido
Ok, to start of with this is a book I got from Amazon when it was free. Which it still seems to be free today while I am doing this review. This book pissed me off in so many ways. The story is a wonderful idea, I loved that, but certain things just had me fuming mad. I can't say I love the main character, Maritza. She is...ugh....I don't even know the word for it. Ok, she was kidnapped, by a man/alien who is....BAM...appears in her little apartment out of no where. No real struggle involved, just up and kidnapped. Then she is told why she was kidnapped (leave that for you to find out on your own) but dang, Girl, I would have been like, 'Oh, Hell, No! Goodbye, Weirdo!' That would have been my first reaction. To top it all off, she is going to meet the one who is in charge of her kidnapping and she finds out another before her was there. Guess what that chick did, yup, exactly what I would have done. The first girl put up a fight! Raised hell, then gone. That a girl!!! Well without going into details, Lord Elentinus does one thing that puts him on my Top hated males list. He lied to her, even with her falling in love with him, he goes and does an act I can't even believe. Her reaction to it afterwards is hard to believe...........Ok, good story, I get why it all happened, still doesn't mean I am thrilled with the characters.
This was a free book on Kindle that I stumbled onto one day and it sounded good enough. I decided to jump between reading through my kindle in order and whatever I was feeling like reading. This just so happened to be the first book on my kindle.
All I have to say is...what? From what I understand this author is/was a Yaoi writer (how she describes it) and this was not that. I am convinced the author hates F/M relationships because this is glorified rape and brainwashing to a degree. The women are altered to be compatible so they can be bred, after being kidnapped. Them drugged because the pain of mating is so intense they can't do it otherwise. Then by the end they love their new alien "husband". There's dark romance and then there's this, whatever this is.
Curious, I grabbed one of the author's free Yaoi books, which are really just Kindle Vella episodes before Vella was a thing. I just wanted to see if she treats a male main character the same as she is treating this female. I couldn't get far enough into that one to even come up with an answer so I suppose I will never know...but my guess is probably not.
Needless to say I will not be continuing this "series", I won't even be progressing to the next "book". Which is disappointing because I really loved the covers on so many of this author's stuff, they are gorgeous.
I was initially intrigued, but after reading it I am left a little speechless. I'm not happy for the situation, but I'm also not super mad. The story did bring up questions, like is this all a rouse and are they being honest, for now I'm not sure if I'll continue the series, but it does have me asking questions.
After this I need to bleach my brain.... So this is a story about alien abduction, rape, 24 babies that you should produce within a year and love confession of heroine after all this.... My skin was crawling all the time.... If you read it like horror story - then 5 stars indeed. But I think this was going for somekind romance title. So nope nope BIG NOOOO!

Enslaved, but not too upset that she and all of Earth is enslaved. Tricked into drinking a date rate drug and screwed, but not too upset because don't want to start the "marriage" off on a bad foot. Yeah, not so good. The narrator was good. I won't be continuing the series.
Kidnapped from your time period to be an alien's bride. Accepting it without a whimper; this bride was way too accepting. The aliens were much too controlling.
I feel like the story was just starting and then it was over kinda abruptly. The next book doesn't appear to follow the same characters, so feels like an odd choice to end there.
