Holy Bible, King James Version

Rate this book
The 2013 edition of the Holy Bible contains all of the study aids contained in the 1979 edition and includes revisions to the study aids, several new photos, updated maps, and adjustments to the chapter headings. The style and format of titles, tables of contents, abbreviations pages, the Topical Guide, and the Bible Dictionary have been standardized to improve the reader’s experience; however, the adjustments have not been so extensive as to require members to purchase the new edition to stay current with either the Church curriculum or personal study.

It took me two years to finish reading this book. I know there are many things I did not understand, but I am coming away from having read the Holy Bible cover to cover with an overwhelming feeling of the love of God for his children here on earth. How grateful I am that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for my sins that I might return to live with God again.

My 4th year to complete reading through the Bible chronologically. Life-changing! If you haven’t done it before , please do. It sounds like a huge undertaking, but in reality it takes about 15 minutes a day. The rewards one reaps from doing it is incomparable. I will restart it again January 1, 2026.

Hopefully this will be on my completed list every year, as I'm committed to reading through the bible every year. Daily time in The Word is critical to anyone's walk and I am committed to devote my mind, heart, and soul to learning more about God's plan.

Lots of interesting and valuable insights. Much of it has value regardless of whether you're religious. Just don't think of it as scientific documentation...it isn't. It is more about abstract analogies, and parables, not precision data. It is a great collection of books from a massive swath of time and lore.

You have to read the bible multiple times for some passages to sink in.

Hopefully won’t go to hell for giving it a 4, good parables and metaphors don’t read into it too literally and take it with a grain of salt. Not religious but worth a read even if it’s skeptically

Highly recommend this book. The Old Testament has many stories that we can learn from to help us be better ourselves. The New Testament. What's not to love about this book. You gain a personal witness of the Savior Jesus Christ. You learn from some of the greatest teachers life's important lessons.

“I am 99 years old and have the Bible hundreds of times throughout my life! And you know what I’ve learned? It’s not about how many times I go through this book, but how many times this book goes through me!”
~Dr. Childs

1189 chapters in the Bible, 365 days in a year.
1189 chapters divided by 365 is ~3.14, round this up to 4. If you read a MINIMUM of 4 chapters a day, you can read the entire Bible in 10.9 months (less than a year!). I’ve read the Bible 9 times in these past 2 years by reading at a fluctuating pace of 4-40 chapters a day. I’m tooting my horn, I’m here to tell you that it’s not impossible! It won’t take you a lifetime! Reading this Bible will make your lifetime! You can do it!

hello god and hello goodreads

ive picked up the bible that sits in my room, picked randomly from a shelf of free books in my chiropractor's waiting room. It would give me an excuse to finally start reading it, I thought.

except i couldnt force myself to start it then, not even for around a year afterward. only then i read to the start of exodus and stopped again.

and ive grown in my relationship with god since then. its been a while, and i really really want to pick it up again. im not sure when that will be, maybe tomorrow, maybe in a week, but i know for sure that this time when i pick up my bible, im going to actually *read* it instead of forcing myself through it.

thank god ❤️
will update when i start!!!
goodnight goodreads!!!!

If you really want to take the Bible seriously, you must understand that you are stepping on holy ground here. If you are a believer or not, before you even start reading ask your heavenly Father to open you up for His Word by the Holy Spirit. Ask Him in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Please do so and persevere.

Not bad, but didn't enjoy it.
MC dies halfway through.
Next to no character development-they're feel like only shells of what could have been.
The plot is hard to follow due to multiple authors.
It's a very long read-feels very drawn out, 7 too many seasons than neccesary.

As always ask the lord for decernment when trying to understand the books of the. Holy Bible it can be confusing without decernment.

Poorly written, hard to follow plotline (requires skipping around), many continuity errors, and the fan club likes to pretend it's a true story.

Great to read.

This Bible is easy to distinct other versions of the Bible. Like the English version and King James version. I recommend this Bible to everyone!
