This is the finale to Book One of Realm Keepers: three times the size of an episode, and packing three times the punch! An adventure so big, it has to be told by all six Realm Keepers at once.
What if you and your friends went to another world every time you went to sleep?

What if you spent half your life on Earth and the other half fighting for survival against foes too terrible to be real?

And what if you could never tell anyone?

This is reality for the Realm Keepers: six kids from Earth thrust into a terrifying war between Midrealm and Chaos. Plucked from their ordinary lives and given extraordinary powers, they're the only thing standing between us and destruction.

In Episode Seven, the Realm Keepers have been fighting a reactionary war, battling Chaos in minor skirmishes in a desperate attempt to prevent Athorn from being overrun. But that's about to change. They're about to go on the offensive, finding the remaining Tombs of the Six in preparation for the final war on Terrence and the forces of Chaos.

But deeper schemes are being planned by all parties involved in the conflict, schemes that may well change the course of fate for the Realm Keepers. And as Terrence prepares to lay siege to the city of Morrowdust, a city that the Realm Keepers have come to call home, the future of Midrealm has never looked more bleak...

This is the seventh episode of Realm Keepers. Each volume consists of six regular episodes, and a finale that is three times the length (and price) of a single episode, told from the perspective of all six kids.

˃˃˃ "An excellent beginning to this fantasy adventure. I look forward to reading more of this series."
Ray Alan Nicholson, Amazon top 1,000 reviewer

˃˃˃ "This first episode is a great start to a YA Fantasy series that even adults can enjoy...Well written, interesting characters, promising premise."
Eric Guindon, The Siege Perilous Podcast

˃˃˃ "It's clear the writers put a lot of effort into developing each personality early on. The story line is still gripping. It moves, but it doesn't move so fast that you feel it's unrealistic...Needless to say, I'm a fan. On to the next one."

I bought the full compilation after reading the free first episode, and this episode doesn't disappoint. The finale is a lot longer than the individual episodes leading up to it, and I liked how all 6 character viewpoints where shared throughout. One thing that did make it a little difficult to follow was the transitions, though; there were a few times where I had to go back a page or two on my kindle to look at the image at the start of the chapter to remind myself which character's point of view I was reading as that image and the context were all you had to go on. I'm hoping that this isn't the last of the queen that we see, although given the foreshadowing in Tess's adventure I find it difficult to see how the relationship she was trying to build could possibly play out at this point. It may have just been to show us what type of person the queen was, but we already had a good idea of that and if this is where she's left off that whole scene a few episodes ago seems a little...unnecessary.

The finale was great and definitely leaves the reader thirsting for me while providing a satisfying conclusion to the first book that doesn't leave the reader feeling cheated. Which is important, and the authors definitely succeeded at it.
