The book I read is called the Chocolate Sabotage and is by Thea Stilton. The book is about one of the characters friend had a chocolate factory and someone kept ruining there chocolate because they didn't want them to get money. Later, they found out who it was. I liked this book because of many reasons. One reason is it has action and mystery and I like books that are like that. Also, if you want to read a short book and get a good story out of it this is a great book. That is why you should read this book if you like action and mystery.

This book was really good. The only reason I rated it 4 stars was that it is a little bit behind my reading level, so it's written for younger people.

A fast-paced case is helped by a helpful review (and to some, an introduction) to the chocolate making process and a potential love interest not being framed as such. The Chocolate Sabotage may not be the best book of the Thea Stilton series so far, but it was entertaining, and strayed away from the conventions the writers were starting to fall back on as stated in my previous reviews. This mystery was a step in the right direction.

This one was a very interesting book. I liked it because it dealt with CHOCOLATE! which everyone loves. I thought it was a fun read. I love the little romance it this. I thought it was cute. The mystery aspect of the book was kind of predictable, but I still enjoyed it. I loved getting to know more about chocolates and the factory of it. Very interesting facts and info.

Enjoyable children's book. I love the play with fonts for words. This was my first one, and I read it to my 8-year-old. I think we'll try more.

I love Thea Stilton books, mostly because they were what got me into reading. Unfortunetaly, just by reading the concept, I can tell the author didn't do their research. Yes, Ecuador grows cacao and exports it, but there are very few places where chocolate is actually made. Still, the idea of a chocolate factory isn't completely unrealistic, so I went in to this book spectical but hopeful. Just a few pages in, I could tell I would be disapointed.

As an Ecuadorian who lives in Quito, I found many flaws in the despctiption of Ecuador. The first and probably the greatest is the cacao plantations. There are no cacao plantations anywhere near Quito because Quito is far too cold to grow them. Also, though it is possible, I doubt there would be many bannana plants in a house on the outskirts of Quito, for the same reason.

Next, in the book, the Thea Sisters do a lot of walking or riding their bikes through Quito. I wouldn't do either of those. Cars don't respect bike riders or pedestrains very much, and at least in Quito's Old Town, walking, even in a group, is pretty dangerous. Also, in a scene near the end, it says that Paulina and her friend Antonio ride their bikes to a location outside the city. It's surprising that they arrived so quickly. Yes, Quito is a relatively small city compared to many, but it still takes 40 minutes to an hour to get outside the city by car and it would probably take a whole lot more by bike.

Another one of my critiques is the tourism aspect. Paulina and Antonia spend some time looking for places to go. Why didn't Antonio take them to the equator? Of all the touristic places to go to in Ecuador, the equator is the most important one. It strikes me as weird that the equator is hardly ever mentioned in the story.

The only reason I'm not giving this book a lower rating is because I liked the story. It was short and fun, like most Thea Sliton books, but it makes me sad that Ecuador wasn't portrayed like it should have been.

I was able to read this in one sitting, which was a nice change of pace from my normal reading. My daughter was cleaning out her books and immediately said that I needed to read this, so today was that fateful day.

This is a cute story about a group of friends who visit another friend from the past who now owns a chocolate factory. But when they get there, a plot to sabotage their chances for a prestigious award is afoot and the gang has to work together to find out what is going on and fix the situation before the award can be handed out.

This cute story has fun facts about Ecuador and the culture there throughout the book. The extra little hints at the bottoms of some of the pages to pay attention to the clues along the way was also a nice touch. I see why my kid enjoyed this book and why she wanted to share the fun.

I had several 1st and 2nd grade girls talk to me about Thea Stilton. This seemed to be one of their more liked books so it is what I read. Thea is the sister of Geronimo. She is also the "leader" of a group of 5 girls who solve mysteries. These 5 girls go to Ecuador where they have to figure out who is sabotaging their friend's chocolate factory. There is some accurate information on the chocolate process and a good story for early elementary kids.

“If you had asked me a week ago, I would have said no...but after everything that’s happened, I’m not certain of anything!”

*REREAD at 2020*

I don’t know, I’m just entertained by the drama inflicted here. Plus, the secondary characters had an interesting story than all the rest I’ve ever read in the series.

I'm actually crying now. I remember sitting with my dad and asking him what "sabotage" meant. And him explaining to my seven year old self what a ferry was. Me not knowing a thing about the world itself. Protected. Safe. Happy.

This series has my whole heart, as it has my entire childhood. Thank you.

It's for kids younger than me but I enjoyed it anyway. It's great if you want a quick and easy read to break up that reading slump. Plus, there are tons more Thea Stilton books out there to collect.
