Ok I hate to do this but I really need to know if Amazon is allowing fake reviews because this had like a 4.5 star ⭐️ rating and it was an absolute mess of a book. So, did someone pay for the reviews or what because I feel like as a very avid reader….I got bamboozeled big time.
This has so many typos it’s like they had no editing at all. Also, clearly it was written by a non American, I’m guessing British writer who has zero concept of American geography or North American geography even.
The age of the characters versus the life accomplishments are so absurdly impossible it’s like….so awkward.
And halfway through the book it switches to British English basically and the FMC and everyone else as well, basically starts acting and speaking as if they are elderly British folks. It was so weird. Like halfway author changed or they were body snatched! My head was spinning!
And the whole Mexican husband situation and how it was resolved yet not resolved…and the 2 ex wives family’s never having answers, and our FMC just married her new man without thought that we have no idea how they were able to work that around since that lil situation….. ummm it felt so unrealistic and unresolved.
And don’t even get me started on the fact that at 6 weeks pregnant they said they could see the babies gender! Seriously…if your gonna write about something please do basic research at bare minimum!
And our MMC was in his mid 30’s and was a gynecologist, a surgeon and already served several tours in the military and moved around a lot and don’t forget a champion martial arts fighter….🤔😳. The math ain’t mathing! And yet he treats elderly ladies who are on the D bed….make it make sense….please. Nothing made sense. A paranormal romance with monsters and fictional creatures would have made more sense than this book. And y’all stop letting fake reviews of books be on here. It’s no ok.
I was a little disappointed with this book the title is really misleading. And at some point in the book there was wrong information. Peyton(h) meets a man when she's on a trip to Mexico to celebrate with her friend falls head of heels and ends up staying in Mexico and marrying a man she barely knows. After the wedding shows his true colours and becomes abusive to Peyton even worse when she becomes pregnant as he doesn't want kids. She ends up escaping from him and runs away to New York where she meets Ben(H) he's her gynaecologist.
So Ben is a gynaecologist and when he and Peyton finally get pregnant near the end of the book with twins he can tell a 6 weeks pregnant the sex of babies and that they have 2 legs which is completely wrong as an embryo at that point isn't the developed enough. I understand this is a book but if your going to write a book make sure that anything like that isn't too unrealistic.
The writing in this book! A lot of phrasing implies the author is not American, but then the writing changes as if a teenager is writing the book. It’s not often I read love scenes in a book and the wording makes me laugh out loud. Not a good sign. Also, the book’s title is weird as the whole pregnancy bit is at the end and completely planned after the main storyline is resolved.
Not well written and frankly I read it so you don’t have to.
Writing was terrible and chaotic. Perspectives confusingly changed in the middle of a chapter without any indicators several times. And the abuser is given a pov which I reallyyyy didn’t like.
Vocabularies weren’t believable. At one point FMC calls herself a dunce?? Who does that in casual conversation???
It moved way too fast to be remotely believable and at times felt like terrible soap opera with the dialogue. Mind you, I only got about 15% in.

The Doctors Twins - Lydia Hall
Argumento:
The title doesn’t even begin to describe what this books is about. The action and suspense drew me right in. The story overall was pretty engaging. Largely, it was a good book.
However, there were some things that just annoyed me a little. Like inconsistencies. The time line wasn’t very clear, but from what I could gather based on the writing, Peyton married Mateo after a month and got knocked up after six. But later she said she was with him for two years. The math isn’t mathing. Also, you cannot determine a baby’s gender in the womb at six weeks gestation. Not even super wonder Dr Ben could do that. Then Peyton called her lost baby a lump of cells, then her daughter. So either Ms Hall is ignorant of what a 4 month gestational baby looks like (fully developed, btw) or she was pushing propaganda with her “lump of cells” garbage. I’m guessing the latter since Peyton referred to her lost baby as her daughter when it became a plot device to draw emotion.
It’s also obvious Ms Hall isn’t American. Which isn’t really a big deal. But her characters are American. Or they’re supposed to be. They don’t speak or act American. The book is full of words and phrases that people outside the US uses. (Again, not terrible. A copy editor, proofreader, Beta reader would help find those phrases and make the characters sound like people who are from CA and NY.) The language and dialogue are just not accurate and that bothers me just a bit.
I was expecting the book to focus on twin babies with the book title, however I have to say that is a tiny springboard at the end. I didn't think it portrays the book in a true light. Payton married a man in Mexico before really knowing him and he turned out to be abusive and a murderer, Payton fled when he tried to kill her for getting pregnant. Due to being thrown down stairs she miscarried and fell for her doctor. fell A bit of drama ensues when her ex finds her. For me there was too much emphasis on endearments. E.g. Yes dear. My love. It got repetitive and unrealistic ( I know it's only a story but it was just too much ) I got over the fact it wasn't really a baby romance throughout and liked the story, for me it just relativistic in the delivery, if I'm honest I think it was all the yes my love I'm dear constantly.
The story is not bad but Americans do not use the same language used in this book so without looking at the author’s bio she’s definitely either not an American or has British influence with her writing. Terms like, “ bloody”, surgical theater”, “cheeky vixen” etc. are not used here. Her characters are supposed to be American but my mind automatically gave them British accents due to the language! The overuse of her mom saying, “my love” in every sentence got annoying quickly. The many endearments were forced. Overall a good story.
I loved the story. Seriously, couldn't put it down. The characters are relatable and easy to like. The villain is easy to hate.
Needs trigger warnings: abuse; miscarriage
The sections indicating who's perspective is being used could be better defined; but it's not hard to figure out. The book needs a proofreader as it has quite a few errors... And it might merely be that the author appears to use British English and American English both in the book. Also, I like the dynamic between Ben and Payton, but thought it weird that there's no worries or pushback about her dating/sleeping with her boss and supervising Doctor... Not allowed in American hospitals.. could result in loss of license. And, he would never have been allowed to operate on his significant other.
Didn't feel the chemistry between Ben and Peyton. The storyline and writing were very choppy and didn't read smoothly at all. Sometimes the POV would change and I wouldn't realize it for a paragraph or two and I'd get very confused.
What the hell did I just read! How has this got so many good ratings!
So Peyton meets Mateo in Mexico while celebrating with her friend after they have finished med school or something! He wine and dines her and gives her loads of orgasms so obvs she puts her career on hold to stay with him longer and longer until he eventually convinces her to marry him. All the while isolating him from her family and friends.
When they get back from the honeymoon we get a chapter in his POV (no idea why this is needed) of him shagging his secretary and then a hooker in the same day then he goes back home and hits her for the first time.
He hits her a lot and she tells him she is pregnant and he hits the roof. She goes for a check and the doctor tells her to be careful. That Mateo has been married twice before and they both disappeared! She confronts him and he throws her down the basement steps. She spots a freezer and find his last 2 wife's. She actually manages to escape which was probably the best bit of the book.
Its 20% before me meet out hero Ben. He does the exam and tells her her baby has died. There is no type of timeline established at all throughout the whole book but they say she is 4 month pregnant but she just found out and I'm sure the doc in Mexico said it she was only a few weeks and this all happens in a few days. Who even knows, I was ready to give up at this point
But I ploughed on! She says the lump of cells that was her baby was not enough to miss but at 4 months I thought baby's had developed more than that?
So 2 days after she leaves her abusive husband and a few hours after her dead baby is removed she's feeling sparks with Ben. I just cant even with this woman!
So she goes home and then is back at work. Literally in the same sentence. There's no break in chapter, no saying she went to bed and got up just walking in her door then she's at work.
There's a bit where (oh cos she works for Ben now) where he asks her to speak to a patient with him. Says he would really like to be there but she does it by herself and he doesn't even acknowledge when she tells him.
Because of the no timeline thing we don't know how long she has been working with Ben but they don't go on a date, they don't talk about anything and then they kiss and he is thrusting into her. Then after that one time they have sex doesn't speak to him for weeks but she's calling him my lover.
When there back together there's no talk of weather they are in a relationship, about birth control not even any foreplay he just thrusts into her again. Now that she has slept with him twice she knows she loves him (eye roll)
Then she disappears for two weeks. She goes to her parents but doesn't tell Ben that. When she gets back he notices her so follows her. She thinks its Mateo following her and she crashes the car trying to get away.
She finally tells him about Mateo (by the way this is only 50% of this book so far. Half the book still to read) and he asks her to move in with him.
Then I realised he hadn't told her she might not be able to have kids. He defo discussed with another doctor but he never told her.
The she starts calling him babe which is what she called Mateo and that just gave me the ick!
Ben has a friend who works in security and he tells Ben he will put someone on Mateo so they know where he is and they loose him. I mean obviously! He finds her and kidnaps her. She wakes up back in his basement
Ben finds out where she is and with his friends help they manage to get in the house. When they get to the basement he has a gun or knife or something to her but event though she is handcuffed to the bed she can pull her whole arm back and elbows him with enough force that she knocks him over. How would that even work!
So they get her out and get rid of Mateo and it jumps a year and she says she wants a baby and this is when Ben tells her its might not be possible.
The it jumps 8 months and she's six weeks pregnant and Super Doctor Ben can tell the sex!! AT SIX WEEKS!
Then it jumps 9 months
Then it jumps 3 months
Then it jumps to them getting married
And then its very abruptly over!
I think this is the worst book I have read in a long time
These are my issues - -We didn't need chapters of Mateo beating whores and imagining what he was gonna do when he got his wife back. It took away from what was already a very poor love story -There's so many mistakes. The name of the whore changes from Cindy to Candy then back a few times. Tucked at my heart instead of tugged -It jumps to other POVs with no change of name on a header. One minute its Peyton and then its Ben with no warning -There are inconsistences all the way though. She calls her parents and tells them about Mateo but after she tells her friend she asks her not to tell her parents. Ben told Peyton all about his time in the military but she is surprised later when she sees a picture of him in the military. She said she was finally free after been with Mateo for 6 months but then she says she can believe she was married to him for 2 years. She said she was 4 months when she lost the baby but later she says its been 6 months. My baby would be here soon. If she was four months and six months had past that's ten months and her baby would have been there already. Ben grabs a sheet and covers the parrot twice (I'm not explaining the parrot) -She started to talk different half way through. She actually says 'one feels different when one has a baby inside them' She changed from American to ye olde English. -The security friend, never mentioned he was English and he didn't sound it at first but then he's say pal, shattered and bloody -Every conversation felt sterile and stilted and forced. Even when she talked to her parents or friends. Sometimes they made no sense. On her and Bens first meeting she said 'hi' and he said 'call me Ben' which would have been ok if she called him doctor but she didn't
This was overall just a bad book. There are 8 books in this series. I started with book 1 that got 3 stars and the got worse and then I got to this one. I wont be continuing!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Oh this book is so bad. It's unrealistic, and a lot of things that unethical IMHO.
I don't have anymore energy to write other thing that was wrong in this book. I don't understand with all these glowing review from others, because this book definitely has messy writing, unrealistic behavior, and cringe moments.
"I couldn't carry on if anything happened to you, Ben. The loss will be too great." pg. 177
I liked the idea, but the execution was lacking for me.. It's a nice read if you want something that is extremely simple to follow along to and understand but if you are looking for something with a bit more depth this isn't what you are looking for.. I am all for things that aren't really realistic, that's why I read, but you need to build up to it and make it seem like within the story it IS realistic. Aside from that, there was a lot of plot errors with timelines, character development, and medical facts that are pretty common knowledge. The title was extremely misleading. You would think based off that she would spend like 50% of the book pregnant, hell, even 25% of the book you would expect her to be pregnant, but it wasn't until the wayyy ending that she was pregnant...
I wanted to like it. Like I said, the idea was decent, but it needs some reworking...
Suspenseful, heart stopping, and happy all wrapped up into a perfect book. I couldn't put this book down until the very end and had tears in my eyes at times some tears of happiness and some of sadness. Lydia really can capture her readers in this book. I love how Peyton and Ben meet, and I can honestly say Mateo is a monster. The book has some parts in it that makes a person think about how much trauma people can endure in an abusive relationship, and how things can turn around once true love is finally found. This book was a really great medical romance book.

Sparks fly between them, but she hasn't share everything with him. They start dating and things seem like they are going well. Peyton doesn't want to have secrets from Ben so she tells him everything. Will he leave her after learning what she is facing? Can they be together?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This was a lovely read !!! Peyton falls head over heels for a sexy Latino, and tries to live happily ever aftet. What happens next is NOT happy. Dr Ben helps Payton when she needs help. But she is very secretive , and he wants to know why . When he finds out , things really get complicated. I thought this book was a great read . There was some action, and even though I could see what was going to happen, it was still a wonderful read !! I would read more from this author !!
Subpar writing with no editing or proofreading. You cannot tell the gender of a fetus at 6 weeks. The villain character, Mateo, kept changing the name of the prostitute from Cindy to Candy. Chips are not called crisps in the US. None of the locations in the story make sense nor does the distance between them make sense. There are way too many questions I want to ask. I highly regret reading this book. It makes absolutely no sense and felt like it was not even written by an actual person.
Interesting storyline!! I fell in love with Ben and Peyton. They were a great couple and deserved to have a happy ending. Peyton's first husband was scarey and a character we love to hate. The author's method of illimination of Mateo was exciting, unpredictable at times, and sometimes disturbing. The title of the story is slightly misleading, though. This story was about so much more than having twins. I recommend this book as a good weekend read.
This book really surprised me in a good way. I expected some light and fluffy generic book from the name. The villain actually turned out to be interesting and much had more dimension than I expected. This wasn’t a perfect read hut it was a pretty good one. I liked Peyton and her family. By the end I would say it got too mushy and gooey. Otherwise a great read.
I thought the book was written pretty well except if you plan to have the people British then have them mention they moved across the pond or something instead of having them be American but using British slang. Plus I know this is a book however their marriage couldn’t take place unless she ‘looked’ for Mateo and waited until the courts gave her permission.
This book started with an unexpected twist that reminded me of the risks an individual takes when getting involved with someone. Taking your time to know the person you are with before getting married is super important. Not everything that shines is gold. This book goes from good to scary to awesome, and then amazing. There is drama, suspense, romance, and love all in one. It was great reading it!
Poorly written/grammar errors. Don't waste your time
Does anyone edit these books? The number of errors was painful. Each person sounds/speaks the same. "My love" should be Peyton's name. Boring, predictable, garbage. Characters have no build up, no chemistry. Just bang a couple times and I love you. Not believable, couldn't finish this poorly written book. Felt like I was reading a teenagers wattpad book.
Peyton a beautiful med school grad met Mateo in Cancun. He swept her off her feet and was the perfect man. Peyton married Mateo shortly after. Peyton thought she was living a fairytale, gorgeous husband and starting her residency but .. Little did she know her life was about to change. I recommend this book. Can't give away anymore. READ IT
This was a good book. I think the author is from the UK by some of the words but I loved it. The drama in the book from the beginning was awesome. I enjoyed how we got to see the beginning of her life with the x an then it wasn’t a huge jump during.
If you have Triggers check them for this book. Two are domestic violence an miscarriage.
I wanted to give this author another chance after reading the book prior to this in the series, but I have nothing but regret. Nothing makes sense, true time lines don't appear to exist to this author, the awkward use of "nicknames", it is all just bad. If you are going to write about something, make sure you know what you are talking about. Overall a painful read.
The only reason I gave this book 3 Stars and not 5 because I felt there were a few holes in the story. It moved fast, which I liked but also lacked some detail to the story at the same time. I did the love the storyline and the characters, I would just like to have seen a little more. Personal opinion, but it was a really great story!
Thinking you are marrying the man of your dreams , living in a foreign country, and then you find out the truth. All hell breaks loose and you find out the truth. The evil that you married shows his true colors. Definitely a good read.
