JAYNE ANN KRENTZ writing as Jayne Taylor WHIRLWIND COURTSHIP
When Phoebe Hampton arrived at the doorstep of Harlan Garand's mountain cabin, he was less than pleased. Convinced that she was another marriage-minded female sent by his matchmaking aunt, Harlan would have gladly thrown her out. But a whirlwind week end with the feisty beauty convinced him that this was the woman he wanted in his bed, and his heart. Now the consummate bachelor would have to try an honest to-goodness courtship, the old-fashioned way, if he ever hoped to make Phoebe his own.
DARA JOY HIGH ENERGY (Tyber and Zanita #1)
Physics. Zanita Masterson knew nothing about the subject, and cared little to learn. Until a reporting job led her to one Tyberius Augustus Evans. The rogue scientist was six feet of piercing blue eyes, rock-hard, muscles and maverick ideas, and the idea that he was seriously interested in her seemed insane. But a night of monster movies, cookie-dough ice cream and wild love was almost enough to convince Zanita that the passion-minded professor was determined to woo her-with his own masterful equation for sizzling ecstasy and high energy..
I Only read -High Engery I enjoyed this older book. I read it many many years ago. I was cleaning out my closet and came across it and i decided to reread it again. It's an older romance no smut, does have some sex but not , like in books today. It actually has a cute romantic courtship with wit, intrigue between Tyler and Zaria. They are so opposite but they work. I enjoyed the story and their quirky relationship .
I decided to put my nose back into the box of old books I'd been brought and discovered this one. Whether it's the JAK or the DJ, I enjoyed it. I didn't know DJ, a great find.
Though I bought this book for Jayne Ann Krentz, I loved Dara Joy's High Energy more. Zanita is a quirky 'non-linear- thinker' that just makes me laugh the whole book through, while Tyber is such an adorable pirate that you just can't help falling for the pair. However, Krentz's Whirlwind courtship is the let down of the pair. You can tell that this is one of her 80s books because the alpha male hero is overbearing and well lets just say that I really really did not like him. the Heroine does not feel as if she stays true to herself and the way she lets him walk all over her just gets my back up. Overall, read it for Joy not for Krentz.
I read the first book individually but I got it for Dara Joy's High Energy. I have to admit, this Dara Joy was better than the first book I tried of hers. Still, I am not a fan and probably won't be reading more of Dara Joy. Her name is memorable and her books are too, just not a great way for me.
The Whirlwind Courtship is a good early Jayne Ann Krentz...but High Energy by Dara Joy is one of my longtime guilty pleasures. I still don't know why I like it so much but reading about Zany Zanita makes me happy...
Really, seriously hated Whirlwind Courtship, and High Energy (by Dara Joy) wasn't good either. Won't read anything by Jayne Ann Krentz (or any of her pseudonyms).
