3.8 stars actually...

The plot was good but I'm still not sure about the attitude of both characters...

He was too agressive at some points, but at the same time he was so sweet and supportive with her... And her? Well too crazy for me at some moments... I know, she was too scared about marriage but I also feel that she was too selfish...

Other thing that seems not ok for me was that they try resolve everything with sex... Instead of keep talking...

It is my first book of this author so I don't know if this is her style but I will definitely read another one. She seems to have very good storylines.

So... Despite that, it was a good book. Very entertaining

Maybe only 4 stars, but this one feels so good. I loved the hero. The opening pages on the rainy dark island, with firelight, brandy, Mozart, and YOU, set it off to a great start.
An older novel. Standalone.

Another older/earlier book by this writer that was a little slow.
Virginia & Ryerson had instant chemistry but the twist is that Ryerson is the one in love first wanting committment trying to wear down Virginia.
It was a slow build to the sexual element of the relationship as she had abuse in her background. I appreciated that as it was a good way to deal with that issue.
Some suspense.

This is a bit of a love-at-first-sight and friends-to-lovers romance written in 1988. Ms. Krentz gives us great characters that are soulmates. There's a bit of a mystery around a bracelet won in a poker game by Ryerson that adds some adventure. I enjoyed their journey to HEA.

It was nice to read about more mature adults in a relationship but Ryerson was a bit overbearing for my taste and if I were GInny I would have at least dragged my feet too.

I found myself sympathizing with Ryerson. Ginny’s phobia was so strong that she acted irrationally on many occasions. I’m glad it ended well but it was exhausting.

A C was dating her little sister and had broken up with her. He then met Virginia and a new relationship started. They were closer in age and interests so it was working well. Then he won a stolen bracelet playing poker on an island vacation and then the trouble started.

Virginia meets A,. C. Ryerson, her sisters ex-boyfriend, and immerdiately the sparks fy. A caribbean trip seemed like the perfect way to test the waters of their relationship. This was a fun story, but steamy sex scenes. I wouldn't read more from this author unless I was assured it was cleaner. (Mira books) Much like Harlequins.

A. C. Ryerson and Virginia Elizabeth Middlebrook are so-so characters as is the suspense in their story. Somehow I cannot really get into this book, although I have read it at least four times. On the other hand, something obviously keeps bringing me back.

I have this book on my shelf. I remember enjoying it. I don't remember a thing about it. I guess it was another forgettable book. Still, it is Ms. Krentz so I know the book was well written, just not one I read over and over again.

Jayne Ann Krentz writes modern romance that is enjoyable and easy to read. Most follow a similar structure, making each specific novel to remember--I read it awhile ago.

Heroine is scarred from an abusive marriage but comes out of her shell when she meets her younger sister's discarded "boyfriend". Sounds a bit tacky but it was actually not a bad read.
