What it Means to be a Friend is an excellent first day of school book or just a great book to read in general to elementary aged children. This book teaches many valuable lessons for how good friends treat each other and what is right and wrong. A writing lesson could be done in a classroom where students have to write in their own words what it means to be a good friend.
