It is a little old book. However, it is still very contemporary and practical. I used this book heavily to prepare materials for some Bible studies with the teenagers' Sunday group, which I was leading last semester. I would say it is a rare example of its kind as it combines both reason and Biblical perspectives on many of the challenges that young folks are facing. It is a must to be in a library for any youth church leader.
This is a book I've saved since college for the purpose to use as a parent. Topics that are taboo parents or leaders find hard to discuss with teenagers are introduced as welcoming conversation starters. Biblical truths and principles back answers by professional counselors to conquer topics, like sexual issues for instance, adults may struggle to find answers in helping to navigate.
In such issues it is hard to agree totally on everything in such a book but it is a very good handbook for quick reference and for some insights. Not only for Youth Pastors.
