Thirteen Moons: A Year in the Wilderness

Rate this book
Thirteen Moons is a humorous chronicle of a year the author spent living in a tipi in the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada in Northern California. A poignant and spiritual quest by a young man testing himself in the wilds, putting his faith in providence, and managing the revelations of self-knowledge and survival with down-to-earth pluck and skill. Spiced with an array of oddball characters, a dog named Bud, and a large rattlesnake.

Thoroughly enjoying this Charles Frazier book although I hated his previous book, Cold Mountain. Interesting novel taking place during the removal of the Cherokees from GA/NC/TN to the west.

This is a very well written book. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it's a total guy book!
