The consequences of a moment can last a lifetime.

Gabriella Ross suffered every bride’s worst nightmare: a no-show groom. Now summer stretches before her with nowhere to go but home, at least until it’s time to return to medical school.

Determined to prove she might be down but definitely not out, she chucks all her old plans in favor of having a good time—starting with giving herself a pair of wings. Tattooed wings, that is, in the form of a phoenix on her back.

When everyone else at Dermamania chickens out at the prospect of putting the gorgeous, perfect skin of the boss’s big sister under the needle, Ian Rhodes finds himself stepping up. Then unexpectedly connecting with her through tears that have nothing to do with the pain of getting inked.

Attraction flares into one hot night that was supposed to stay that way—single, and secret. But best laid plans have a way of getting blown out of the water. Now two perfect strangers must plan for a very different future…beginning with whether there’s enough common ground to spend it together.

Warning: Contains explicit sex, graphic language, Ross family drama, reuniting with beloved old friends…and a hot, tattooed, Harley-riding hero who doesn’t mind being robbed from the cradle.

4 Phoenix Stars!

 photo 62d60f9f-391c-4123-b8d8-fdef83a49ac7_zpsc705f0c4.jpg
‘You’re the phoenix rising from the ashes. I’m honored I could be the one to let you express that.’

Gabriella Ross is Brian’s older sister. She is a nurse who has been working hard in med school, and now she is marrying a doctor. Or she was supposed to. Now, after The Wedding That Wasn’t, she’s back home for the summer. She wants a fresh start. To come out of this funk she’s in. She decides to get a tattoo to represent that. Something strong. A phoenix. After Brian and Ghost turn her down out of fear, she gets Brian’s new guy. Ian.

Ian Rhodes is a few years younger than Gabby. He’s recently moved from Dallas to start fresh and work with Brian and Dermamania. When he first sees Gabby, he doesn’t believe this is Brian’s sister. He always imagined her as uptight by the way everyone talked. But she is fun and easy going with Ian. They hit it off. After the tattoo, they run into each other again at the bar. One night. One hot all consuming night. Thats all it’s ever supposed to be. He can’t resist Gabby, and she has it bad for him as well.

 photo 8089a657-a7d4-41a7-aa2d-b5320625b51e_zpsad533131.jpg

Gabby and Ian have a connection and an attraction thats there from the start. They keep their discretion a secret. Brian is his boss, and Gabby is Brian’s sister so thats a given. But something happens, something that changes everything between them.

 photo 227c7291-6a3d-4268-b0a5-49d10df08b24_zps7e02fe75.jpg

I really loved Ian, but he was no Brian or Ghost. There was something different about him. Not a bad different, just different. I was nervous I would dislike Gabby, but she was a pleasant surprise. She took what she wanted, held her guns and went for her dreams. Even when she could have taken the easy way out, the comfortable way, she did what she wanted on her own terms. She was conflicted for a little while, but when Gabby sets her mind on something, thats it.
Joy, happiness, excitement, love. But stability was also high on her list. Way high. Right now, she felt so unstable she might topple over. That surely didn’t mean she has to trade in everything else to have it, though, right?

Those who love the steamy sex of the Ross brothers books, you won’t be disappointed! It has the heat you crave! I love a ‘vocal’ hero and Ian was definitely that!

 photo afdb1491-efa2-4a1b-952a-e438bbbe6bfd_zps6f1fb1ba.jpg

Overall, I really liked this book. I’m not sure what it was, but compared to Brain and Ghost’s books, it just wasn’t quite there for me. The writing was great, the sex was hot, the couple was wonderful... it just was missing something for me, I can’t even point it out. Sometimes there is just something in a book that screams 5 stars, and this didn’t have it imo. The thing between Ian and Gabby seemed a little faster than the other couples. And I was really disappointed in the Ross parents. I really loved them in Brian’s book, but not so much in this one. Still a worthy 4 star read from a series I would very highly recommend! I look forward to reading more by this author in the future!

4 “I’m gonna ink you so hard” STARS!!!!!!

Cherrie Lynn NEVER disappoints! Ian is delicious!

 photo tumblr_mmtcwa6nzA1qlh5xlo1_r3_500_zpsc531f471.gif

My Ian:

Marcin Maly | Allan Spiers | #muscular #tattoo #jeans

My Gabby:

Phoebe Tonkin | The Vampire Diaries

Ian is a tattoo artist who transferred recently to Brian’s tattoo parlor, so he hasn’t met the beautiful Gabriella yet, who is Brian’s older sister. I love that Gabby is older than Ian. It made the story a little different and more exciting in a way (and HOT!!!). Ian is a southern boy. I love how sweet he is, but he isn’t afraid to be dirty and take what he wants. Yum!

Gabby has been left at the altar, but she wants to move forward with her life. She wants to get a tattoo of a phoenix on her back to symbolize her rise from the ashes. Ian volunteers to do the tattoo, but even though he is extremely attracted to Gabby, he tries to stay away because she is the boss’s sister. Gabby does NOT want to stay away so SHE PURSUES HIM!!!! Yay!!! I loved that!

Phoenix tattoo, absolutely gorgeous.

There was some drama, but not too much, which was nice. Gabby and Ian are forced to move their relationship along quickly, and they learn that they need each other.

I loved that we were given a little bit of some previous characters (like Ghost and Macy!!!! Yay!). This was a great book in the series (and did I mention HOT??!!!!)

There are two kinds of reactions to surprises ...

This kind:

 photo surprise_zps25dd699e.gif

And then there is this kind:

 photo jane-dance_zps3e2f485d.gif

The second one pretty much sums up my feelings about this book! Yes, it was a very nice surprise to wake up to this book on my Kindle then get to read it with a bunch of awesome GRers and end up loving everything about it in the end!

Now why couldn't Mr and Mrs Ross be like Brady Bunch and have more than 3 kids????? I don't care if they would have to merge families ... I just want more books about Ross siblings!!

I know I am in the minority but I enjoyed this one and book 1 (Evan's story) the most out of the four that are out so far. Don't get me wrong, I loved Brian and Ghost but I could have done without Candace and Macy [especially]. Perhaps I no longer have patience for the juvenile drama that Brian and Ghost's stories had to offer.

I am not usually a fan of older h/younger H (it's just not my cuppa) but I really enjoyed Gabby and Ian. Gaby was a perfect heroine from start to finish and Ian was just ... *sigh* ... Ian.

Cherrie Lynn does it again ... perfect MCs, awesome supporting cast, a story that tugs at your heartstrings and sex that almost made ME blush (I said 'ALMOST')!!

My Gabby

Once again, expectations SUCK. BADLY.

I really wanted to love this book but it didn't happen. But hey, you might love it so ignore my rating PLEASE. It pains me to give Cherrie Lynn 2 stars but I seriously couldn't connect with the characters. Everything (you guys know what I am talking about) happened sooooo freaking early and I know that can happen in real life but still, it didn't grab me.

4 Stars! A nice installment, but it didn't Rock Me and Leave Me Breathless like some of the other books in the series!!

While I enjoyed Gabriella and Ian's journey, what really made this book for me was catching up with all the characters from the previous book, most especially Brian, Brian Brian...did I say Brian??...and Ghost(Seth) and Evan too. Yeah that's right...roll those eyes...but I love these men and Ian fit in perfectly. He was pretty RAWRRRR-worthy himself!!

Fans of this family and series will really enjoy this book!

4.5 sizzling and sexy stars

You bank on Cherrie Lynn's books to give you some sexy hot men, some sizzling scenes and some strong heroines and this is no exception.

what its about
Gabby has only ever wanted two things in life, to be a successful Dr and to have a family of her own. She has ambition and she really wants to live that dream but alongside that she wants to be settled, she wants to have a husband, to feel loved and to eventually to have a family of her own, she loves children it is who she is, she's from a loving family and she really wants what her parents have but she is ambitious too so she needs to try to succeed in both. We start at the beginning of this book where she is with her family due to be married very soon there's that other dream that she has planned her whole life and this one is her dream wedding she has planned it down the T but sometimes life doesn't work out the way you want it to and well she gets jilted at he alter, her fiancé doesn't want what she wants anymore so she is left Angry and humiliated in front of her friends, family loved ones and her work colleagues.

But she has a supportive loving family and they welcome her back home with open arms while she just takes a breather, and spends her summer break at her parents, now bear in mind here she is angry so her time is spent drinking, enjoying her freedom or moping in it whichever way you want to look at it either way she is being Independent and feisty. She copes by becoming independent and going after what she wants, she reminds me a lot of Brian really she's a woman yes but a strong independent mature one and I really did love reading her.

So while she's healing and enjoying her life she decides to walk into her brothers tattoo parlour and get a tattoo much to her mothers disbelief she asks her brother or ghost to ink her skin but nope they aren't going there, they're not being accountable for something she may regret or get into trouble for so Ian offers to do it, not knowing what she's like he doesn't mind doing the deed.

 photo 90DEC016-FCA0-4A0F-86FB-052805E39826_zpsfkjdzecm.jpg
Ian has come from Brian's friends business they have known each other a while but Ian has come to work for Brian to have a fresh start. There is something about Gabby that grabs his attention and that is ultimately why he has offered to Ink her skin, to do something where he can get to know her a little and to be able to touch her a little he really does crave it, while Ian has that rough edge and I'd say he is similar to Brian in many ways he is also a loving and caring character.

As time goes on and they connect because that fire is burning in him even if he won't do what he wants later due to Gabby being Brian's sister and Brian being Ian's boss will he do what he so desperately wants to do?

"I'd love to take you home and fuck you senseless, if that's what you're after."

"Take it, Gabriella. You can have it. You can have it whenever and however you want it. Fuck it, baby. Fuck it good. Make it yours."

Ian really is a delicious character in many ways he's Hot yes we can tick that box and he push's Gaby's boundaries to give her something she's never had, those butterflies in her tummy and that craving she also feels near him but Ian is a doting, caring and loving man he just wants Gabby to be happy, she deserves it and that is ALL Ian wants he is there for her he wants her but he is willing to put himself last even if that means hurting himself, you see Gabby wants Ian in the bedroom she wants him but he is not the usual kind of man she picks, her normal is steady, wealthy, ambitious and while Ian has his own dreams his main one is for gabby to take that chance with him, so will she? And will her family trust and let him take care of her?

This is a steamy read and I loved it I still favour Brian and Ghost but this to me is the icing on the cake the final chapter and a great end of series I have adored. I devoured it and stayed up till 3.30am last night unable to put it down, I got caught up in the story and not only for Gabby and Ian but really loved being back with all the Ross's.

 photo 76345777-913B-4ADE-A887-C5F73E5B9624_zpsxn4y8ze3.jpg
This does have a much faster and a slightly different feel to it than Brian and Ghosts books as they get to where they want quite quickly, they have sex pretty fast there's no waiting with them and while some didn't like that I feel that Gabby has a shitty few months so she's stronger when she wants something she's going to go after it and she is mature' than the other heroines she is in her 30's so she is in a place where she can make a decision and go for it, I really loved her for that reason alone.

"I love you so fucking much. I can't be without you anymore."

So to sum up this is a great book to finish on and I'd highly recommend this series..

Enjoy lovelies

I was looking forward to another book by Cherrie Lynn as I like her writing style and enjoyed Rock Me and loved Leave Me Breathless. Unfortunately, this one is not nearly as good.

I didn't remember Gabriella from the other books but I never read the first book in this series about Evan, so maybe she featured more in that book. Gabriella is the older sister of Evan (Unleashed) and Brian (Rock Me). She's 36, training to be a Dr but has just been jilted on her wedding day by a Dr who she had been seeing for a year (bit of a rushed relationship!). She returns home to live with her parents for a while and decides to go to her brother Brian's tattoo parlour for her first ever tattoo but Brian refuses to do it and so the new guy, Ian Rhodes offers up his services. Ian has been working for Brian a few months and knows a little of what happened to Gabriella. As he begins the tattoo they start talking and then later, Gabriella decides she wants Ian so approaches him in the local bar. They have what is supposed to be a one night stand which soon turns into something more.

The problem with this book is I never felt any real connection between Gabby and Ian. Gabby is 36 but comes across a lot younger and the fact she is still supported by her parents at her age was never really explained. She had previously worked as a Nurse before deciding to train as a Dr, so not sure why she couldn't have saved and supported herself but that aside, I didn't particularly like her that much and at no point did I feel she fell in love with Ian.

Ian is 28 (the age difference is never an issue) and didn't have a great childhood and does not have a good relationship with his mother. I felt the problems from Ian's childhood could have been expanded on more, I didn't feel we really got to know him or understand him. Through an unforeseen circumstance Gabby and Ian are thrown together but I felt their relationship was very rushed and that they never really took the time to get to know one another. They had a lot of sex (most of it repetitive when this author normally writes a great sex scene) but that was about it. I never felt them fall in love. Another thing was Ian is described as a 'hot, tattooed, Harley-riding hero' but I didn't feel the author described him well. There is no mention at all of any of his tattoos and it wasn't until 63% into the book that Gabby mentions him having pierced nipples! I liked Ian but if I'm honest, I feel like Gabby wasn't good enough for him. It almost seemed like she was with him on the rebound from her ex and used him for sex and then decided near the end that oh actually, she was in love with him!

The other three couples from the first three books feature but in this book I found Gabby's parents reactions a bit OTT considering she is 36! There was just something about the storyline that seemed forced and it had a similarity to the issues in Rock Me but considering the ages of the H&H this seemed unrealistic.

I will still read more from this author as I do like her books but this one disappointed me.

3.5 stars.

Overall I enjoyed this one but I felt the whole time like it was lacking something to make it just wow me....But its got a smoking hot tattooed guy in it...

I mean what's not to love about a hot tatted up guy?

swoon photo tumblr_m8m6igkEFs1rt4c9oo1_500_zpscc9e2a06.gif

Anyways, Gabby is 36, on her way to being a doctor and still letting her parents dictate her life....

come on photo tumblr_mt9xylz8bE1sgr62no1_500_zps82aea470.gif

She goes into her brother Brian's tattoo shop and wants to get a tattoo but Brian and Ghost refuse to do it so Ian the new guy does it and catches Gabby's eye in the process.

“You’re the phoenix rising from the ashes. I’m honored I could be the one to let you express that.” He grinned. “In more ways than one.”

That spark is there between the two of them but can there be an actual relationship between a soon to be doctor and a tattoo artist?

fight fo r you photo love-quote-dont-act-like-ill-fight-you_zps5dd152c6.gif

I loved Ian's character and he definitely had some swoon worthy moments.

“I’ll do whatever you want me to do. I’ll stay. I’ll move. We’ll work it out. I just want to be with you.”

I will say the sex scenes were hot....Like want to have his baby hot...

Take Me On opens up with Gabriella Ross being dumped by her ex-fiance on the day of her wedding. Needing time to lick her wounds and mend her broken heart, she moves in with her parents for the summer. Ready to rise from the ashes so to speak, she goes to her brother’s tattoo shop, Dermamania, to get a tattoo of a phoenix rising. But her brother refuses to do the work and the only person at the shop willing to work on her is the new guy Ian Rhodes.

From the moment Ian sees Gabriella walk into the tattoo shop, he’s drawn to her beauty. Because he knows what happened to her, he handles her with care. For the first time since Gabby was dumped, she felt at peace with everything being in Ian’s presence. Gabby decides she needs to have some fun and goes out to a bar with the hopes to hook up with Ian. The moment they see each other, instant heat flares between them. Gabby then boldly seduces Ian into taking her home. They have a wild night of hot sex together, which was supposed to be a one-night-stand. But weeks later, Gabby realizes that she’s knocked up.

Now two people from different worlds are forced to make plans for an uncertain future together. What started out as electrifying chemistry in the bedroom turned into a deeper and meaningful connection. But they must overcome their self-doubts, make life-changing decisions, and overcome the odds working against them to have a future together.

Ian is our smoldering hot, tattooed, Harley-riding, tender-hearted hero, who is eight years younger than Gabby. He’s a different hero from what Lynn has written in the past. He has a quiet strength about him that I liked, but nothing was quiet about him in the bedroom with his wickedly sexy bedroom skills and dirty mouth. Ian had it rough growing up. He never had money, education, or a loving family like Gabby. These two couldn’t have been any more different. I will admit to feeling like Gabby, with her big personality, may have overshadowed Ian’s character a bit. I wish Ian would’ve put Gabby in her place many times. Despite that, I adored Ian; he made this book better for me. And he truly proves himself worthy when he took responsibility for his actions and stepped up to the plate when he needed to fight for his family.

***slight spoiler ahead***

I think Gabby is the kind of heroine you’re either going to like or dislike. I teetered in the middle for the first part of the book then it just grew into dislike. It was hard to connect with Gabby (who is my age) on a personal level. A lot of times her confidence and sass was a little over-the-top. She came across as a pushy immature brat many times in the story - which got on my nerves. I didn’t like how she let Mama Ross dictate her life. And I felt like Gabby should be supporting herself at 36. When she is given an ultimatum, at one point in the story, I didn’t think she should’ve had any doubts about what choice to make. It was a no-brainer – choose Ian. The fact that she struggled with this decision and most of the plot is based off of this ultimatum really annoyed me and hurt the story for me.

Overall, I liked this story, I just didn’t love it as much as book two and three. If you haven’t met Brian or Ghost from this series you are missing out. One of my utmost favorite books I read in 2012 is Leave Me Breathless, Ghost’s story. Cherrie Lynn definitely excels at writing sweet romances with bad boys that are extra naughty in the bedroom and leave me salivating with lust. Even though I had my issues, I still think you should give it a try. The writing is solid with a lot of hot and spicy chemistry that quickly heats up the sheets. I look forward to seeing what this author comes up with next.

Gabriella wanted the fairytale wedding. The dress, the crowd, the flowers… she had it all except the groom. He was nowhere to be found. Devastated at being stood up on her wedding day, Gabby Ross returns home. Her whole life had been planned. Marry the doctor, finish med school and eventually get the house and the 2.5 kids. But that dream seem unattainable now.

When Gabby walks into Brian’s shop no one is willing to take the risk of putting ink on the boss’s sister, except for Ian. Ian never expected his physical response to Gabby would lead anywhere. But after inking her skin, feeling it beneath his fingers and watching her fracture beneath his needle, he can’t seem to get her out of his mind.

Gabby is has always made the right choices in her life and nothing seems to have worked out, so she’s ready to make a few wrong ones. Throwing herself at the much younger Ian for one night is all she wanted. But some things are outside of her control. The attraction doesn’t diminish but there is far more at stake than just their feelings, Gabby’s future is in jeopardy and Ian’s past may just be the cause to ruin everything.

I have loved every book in The Ross Sibling Series and was excited for another installment although Gabby was a bit of a mystery. But in true Cherrie Lynn fashion, she left us completely satisfied and stayed true to the prior books. Gabby’s character was so evenly matched between completely vulnerable and strong. While Ian had the cockiness when needed and just that perfect dose of insecurities from his past.

I was a bit caught off guard by the reaction from Gabby’s parents though, knowing that they have had to come to terms with Brian over the years and the way the Andrews family treated their son, to see them react the way they did with Ian was a bit off-putting. And Mark, the husband that wasn’t. What an eff’n douche. I wanted to throttle him at every turn. Where does that kind of nerve even come from?

Now, Ian had his moments but there was just something missing to really match him up to Ghost or Brian. But those are two characters that set the bar pretty high so it was to be expected. It was great to reconnect with Evan, Kelsey, Ghost, Macy, Candace and Brian as well along with getting a bit of a glimpse into how each of their stories continued. I wish there were a few dozen of Ross kids to ensure that this series could go on forever.

I absolutely loved the first 40% of this book, then I just didn't know where Ian and Gabby's story could go from here.
I still enjoyed reading the book and Ian was absolutely incredible. But I don't think this book had anywhere near as much depth as the previous books in the series.
It was also just a bit too cute, too sweet. And everyone

I will definitely be continuing with the series :)

Oh, how I loved being back with the Ross siblings! This book features Gabriella, the (never before mentioned) older sister to Evan and Brian, and we meet her on the day of her wedding, where she is heartbreakingly and humiliatingly left at the altar.

36 year old Gabby is a planner, and months later as she is still recovering from “the wedding that wasn’t”, and trying to come to terms with the fact that that life she wanted, the life she had planned for herself, isn’t going to happen. And instead – “living in the moment had become her thing. Fuck the future.”. She starts reclaiming her life by getting a tattoo – a phoenix rising from the ashes, and who better to “fuck the future” with than her smoking hot tattoo artist, Ian – gorgeous, built, inked, sweet, and a younger man no less! (He's 28). Perfect for a temporary fling.

Ian is relatively new to Dermamania, the tattoo parlour owned by Brian Ross, and is the only one brave enough to ink the skin Brian’s older sister. Gabby is the hottest woman he has ever met, but he considers her way out of his league… and the boss’s sister as well. So when she tracks him down at a bar later that night, he tries to resist her very obvious seduction, but the man is only human.

Gone was the woman of five hours ago. In her place was…Satan. He stared at her a moment, uncomprehending, fighting his way back from whatever haze of blind lust she was dragging him to. What the fuck was this?

"You never mix business with pleasure," she supplied. "Got it."
The way she purred that sentence in between sips of her drink, focusing on the “pleasure"...Oh goddamn, he wanted to mix it. He wanted to mix it hard.

And so they share one steaming hot night together. An encounter that leaves them both changed forever and sets in motion one sensationally hot and swoony love story.

OMG I loved this book! Gabby and Ian are fantastic together, and I loved the way their story unfolded. The emotion between them is beautiful, and I loved that we got to see every little detail of them together. Of course there is lots of sex, but there is also fun teasing, some gorgeously sweet moments and a whole heap of swoon!

“I’d give you any fucking thing you wanted, if it was in my power.”
“Everything I want right
now is well within your power, Ian.”

And the best part about it is – they are so functional (for the most part… more of that later). They both go into their night together knowing what to expect, but they can't deny the intense connection that they shared, and they’re open and honest about what they’re feeling, and there are no games. It was so refreshing to read!

“Pardon me for saying so, Ian, but you are the hottest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. It just seems unfair and cruel of me to not let you know that.”
He barked with laughter. “Well, it seems unfair and cruel of me to not let you know that I think you ruined me for all others.”

And of course, there is lots and lots of hot and explicit sexy time! Cherrie Lynn certainly knows how to write a love scene, and the books in this series have provided some epically hot moments. This one certainly doesn’t disappoint!

And OMG, I love Ian! Clearly he can rock a mattress (among other things), and he likes his dirty talk. He is a sensational mix of sexy, funny, beautifully tender, and swoony as all hell! And the way he loves Gabby is just gorgeous.

“You’re the phoenix rising from the ashes. I’m honoured I could be the one to let you express that.” He grinned. “In more ways than one.”

But about that stupid… *sigh*. . I get that there has to be some sort of conflict in a story, but this one just seemed really lame, and God, I was annoyed. At both of them actually. It’s clear that Ian’s heart is in the right place, but some of his decisions left me shaking my head. And although for most of the book, I really liked Gabby, I lost a lot of respect for her during this whole part of the book – for a lot of reasons. Honestly, they just both needed a smack! It didn’t take away my overall enjoyment of the story though, and I was happy with the resolution, and the HEA left me grinning like an idiot.

I am happy to say that there is a fair bit of Brian and Candace in this book, and their story continues along nicely. Ghost makes a few hilarious appearances, ant there is also a fair bit of Kelsey and Evan, as Gabby and Kelsey are great friends, and I enjoyed getting to see them all again – particularly the boys in ‘protective brother’ mode.

I love this series! I’m hoping that Cherrie Lynn can drag up some other long-lost family member, or friend of the family just so that we can get more. There is an epilogue, but there’s one little part of a storyline left undone which leads me to hope that we may get something at a later date to finish the whole thing off.

But in the meantime, I am content to dream about Evan, Brian, Ghost and Ian and all of their swoony hotness.

“I’ll do whatever you want me to do. I’ll stay. I’ll move. We’ll work it out. I just want to be with you.”

4.5 stars.

I have said it before, and now I will say it again.
I consider Cherrie Lynn my personal gateway drug author. In September 2011, I read my first smexy book (post 50 shades of Grey), Rock Me. To say I was hooked was an understatement. Back then I was in the infancy stage of my reading addiction. In fact, I would have coined it more as a new hobby at the time. I had owned my Kindle for about 6 months and had just started buying books and getting used to the idea of reading contemporary romance novels. I had read Beautiful Disaster and some other New Adult contemporary romance books but hadn’t ventured into adult/erotic romance. Then BAM I was introduced to the Ross Siblings and the rest is history (hobby has now morphed into a full blown obsession).

After I read Rock Me & Unleashed, I emailed Cherrie Lynn and asked when she would be writing Gabriella’s story (Brian & Evan’s sister). At the time she was nowhere near ready for her story and was toying with the idea of writing a novella for Ghost & Macy. Needless to say I have been waiting for what feels like an eternity for the final Ross Sibling story.

Gabriella was barely mentioned in both Evan & Brian’s books and wasn’t mentioned at all in the two novellas which compliment this series. I didn’t know what to expect. Wow, Gabriella is NOT our typical heroine. This woman is STRONG and at 36 she is also older than our hero which again is not typical. I loved being taken by surprise with her actions and confidence. She is the female version of Evan & Brian and a force to be reckoned with; Cherrie Lynn did an amazing job building this character and allowing us to see all sides of her.

Our hero, Ian Rhodes is also new to the readers of this series. Although he works for Brian he is a virtual stranger to the main characters in this story. And, unfortunately he remained a bit of a stranger to me as the reader. Now wait a minute; the author gave us a very informative and extremely sad glimpse into his painful past and how it has shaped him as an individual. Ian was a lost soul who was also rebuilding a life. I was bummed that we never really had closure about how he was going to be what he wanted to be for both himself and Gabriella; it felt sort of glossed over only because so much focus was placed on Gabriella. I really think this is due to the task of building two new characters from scratch and weaving them into an already created world. My only wish would be for an extra 10% to allow us to witness Gabriella and Ian rising above and connecting beyond the angst AND before the ending.

That said, Cherrie Lynn’s writing was EXACTLY what I expect from her; it was excellent. Her dialogue is always the right blend of realistic and sigh worthy dreaminess. The chemistry between Ian and Gabriella was OFF THE CHARTS. Again, this author knows exactly how much spice it takes to create not only sizzling scenes but also emotional intimacy between the hero and heroine. She makes you feel like you’re in Texas, right there in the air conditioning of Dermamania or facing off with Gianna Ross. You get lost in her world.

The last 10% of Take Me On was packed full of goodness and has me hoping with all of my might that we will have maybe a little novella to give us the goods. However, that would call for more drama so maybe I should just use my imagination and be thankful for that last 10%. Whatever happens I will continue to follow Cherrie Lynn’s work and look forward to her next project.

Gabriella Ross is one lucky lady. But she didn’t start out that way. She has just experienced a bride’s worst nightmare: her pansy-ass fiancé stands her up at her own wedding! The horror! The embarrassment!

But Gabby doesn’t allow that to keep her down. She was to pick herself up and rise from the ashes so to speak, so thinking it is apt, she wants to get a tattoo of a phoenix. She goes to Dermamania where her brother works as a tattoo artist and seeks out a consultation. Except nobody wants to touch her for fear that her brother will either fire them or beat them back into hell.

All this is true except for Ian, the newest artist. He likes to get dirty. And you see this over and over again through the course of the book. Hence the reason why Gabrielle is a lucky woman. She gets to shack up with a harley-riding, tattooed, pierced and sexy hero. What could go wrong?

When you read this book, you will soon find out that there are terrible things that can happen. It puts Ian and Gabriella in a difficult spot and forces them to make decisions they won’t know the outcomes for and thus, it puts a strain on their relationship.

That being said, while this isn’t my favourite of the series, I still think it’s worth checking out. Ian is not one to be missed. There were a few times when Gabby got on my nerves. She turned a little annoying, however, it was fleeting and didn’t frustrate me to the point of madness.

Yet Lynn’s writing really is terrific. Her voice matches so well and her heroes POV never once feel douche-y or contrived. You genuinely like the characters in the novel and for that, I have to give Lynn a standing ovation because it’s easy to forget character personalities in stories sometimes, especially in Erotic Romances where the sex is often the most memorable thing of all.

I want more! I really, really want more from these characters and this series. I am hoping that Lynn further explores this world because damn, she has a good thing on her hands! TAKE ME ON is a spicy read that heats up quick!

It pains me to say that I couldn't get into this. I think the writing was great, it flowed, it was the story I could connect with. I think the story was way to fast and therefore I couldn't connect with characters and couldn't feel the connection between the characters. I love her work and this doesn't change that. I think this was a preference issue not author.

"I’d love to take you home and f*ck you senseless, if that’s what you’re after.”

For a series that won me over with its sinfully delicious alpha heroes who zero in, take and claim their ladies like nobody’s business, a series that is singlehandedly responsible for my shameless obsession with tattoos and piercings in all the right places, I truly never expected this book to become my favourite of them all. Gabriella Ross’ book is the most mouth-watering instalment in the series, a story that had my heart clenching too many times to count, and then fanning myself from the scorching chemistry between one very feisty leading lady and a hero that had me melting like a popsicle every time he blinked.

As the only girl in a family of alpha boys, Gabriella has never been one to shy away from expressing her opinions or going after what she wanted, but the sudden failure of her latest relationship has marked her deeply and made her question the future she had so meticulously planned. Being left at the altar has not only hurt her, but also left her in limbo, every dream she ever had of being a wife and mother now having become an unknown. Back at her parents’ home for the summer, Gabriella is licking her wounds and re-evaluating her future, when one very sexy tattoo artist enters her life and re-awakens the seductress in her.

“Play me?”
“Nah. I’m all played out.”
“I’ll make it interesting.”
“Oh yeah? How?”
“If I win, you have to f*ck me senseless.”

Ian is quiet, dedicated, loyal, composed, but every part of the firecracker that is Gabriella Ross gets under his skin and makes him lose control. Drawn to her vulnerability and the pain she so desperately tries to hide from the world, he lets her seduce him into a strings-free night of passion, free from inhibitions or burdens from real life, but one taste is all it takes for Ian to fall for the one he cannot have.

“You’re a f*ckin’ siren, woman. I knew it from the second I saw you in the bar. I knew you’d lure me to my demise.”

Worlds apart, Gabriella and Ian are on very different paths in life, her life being one of control, ambition, drive, while Ian makes no plans for the future, taking each day as it comes, silently nursing the scars from a past marred by violence and heartbreak. One night together was meant to be all they got, both thinking they are not what the other needs to be happy, but fate intervenes and their futures suddenly become forever intertwined.

“… he didn’t know if he could give her the kind of good she deserved. The absolute best of everything. How could he do that when he had nothing?”

This is a story of two opposites attracting, the chemistry between their bodies bringing them together, but the inescapable sense of belonging not allowing them to forget one another. Ian is exactly what someone like Gabriella needs in her life to be the hot-blooded woman she suppressed for too long, knowing he loves her and accepts her unconditionally, her wellbeing always a priority even over his own happiness. He complements her fiery temperament by taking charge in the bedroom, giving her a chance to hand over control, knowing her heart is safe from hurt. Their playfulness with each other brings out the woman she pretended not to be, one who never even hoped to find her other half in a man who so clearly would never belong in the picture-perfect future she always thought would make her happy.

“Just so you know, I think you’re only trying to avoid the matter at hand here,” he growled against her neck. “But I’m gonna keep giving you what you want, Gabriella Ross, because I don’t know what else to do.”

This for me was, hands down, the best instalment in a series that truly only kept getting better and better. I connected with the characters, felt their emotions and was not ready to let go of them in the end. All the characters from the previous books make an appearance and play an important role in this one, their own stories moving ahead as well. This was the perfect marriage of romance and steam, a book I loved cover to cover, and would recommend to anyone seeking a feel-good but thoroughly emotional escape from reality. Tattooed guy, god in the bedroom is included. No batteries needed.

“She was the phoenix, but he was the one who’d brought her back from the ashes.”

3.5 stars

So, I wanted to give this 4 stars, I really did. I can't, though.

While I really enjoyed almost all of it, the conflict was way too familiar and ended up being kind of a let-down.

Gabby was awesome. Kick-ass, strong, smart, driven, confident in her sexuality. Pretty much the perfect heroine for me. I really liked her all the way through.

Ian, our Hero, humina humina. Smokin' hawt, devoted without being a total pussy. Yeah, just a sexy, all-around good guy.

Super steamy sexy times. Believable characters. Realistic dialogue. Then, at 75%, she lost me.

Now, I'm not going to put in a bunch of spoilers, but let's just say, anyone's who's read Rock Me is already going to know what the conflict is and how it plays out.

It's basically the exact same thing as what happened in Brian and Candace's story. Really, almost exactly. Same conflict and then the same resolution.

So, yeah, she lost me there. While the conflict was playing out, I thought it may go a different way, but unfortunately, it didn't.

I'm not one of those people that likes to read the same stories over and over again. I want and need something different. Maybe I'm just picky but I iz what I iz.

Like I said, it was a solid 4 stars until then. I was in it. Fully. Loved both of them, was totally engaged, but because it was just too similar, to the point I already knew exactly how it was going to play out, I has to deduct.

Still a good read, though. Definitely a must for fans of the Rosses.

I won't bother running my mouth in some crazy rambling review so I'll keep it short and sweet.

I absolutely loved Ian. I happily push Brian aside and claim Ian as my new book boyfriend.

Unfortunately the VERY STRONG DISLIKE I had for Gabby ruined this book for me. I waited and waited for her to stop acting like a pushy brat (I really want to use the 'other' B word) but up until the last 2 pages I was still cursing and yelling at her. If she wasn't having sex with Ian, she seemed to spend her time emasculating him (for a lack of a better word).

I loved Brian and Ghost's book and had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, what should have been appealing reading about a strong and independent woman turned into reading about something WAY different.

3-3.5 Stars

I really liked Ian and Gabby (most of the time) but for a couple ages 28 and 36, they didn't always seem to handle things the way I would expect adults to handle things.

Gabby was WAY to concerned and dependent upon her parents and Ian lacked a bit of confidence I love most about Brian and Ghost.

They had great chemistry and the story started off with a bang, but I felt like there was a lot of dead area in the middle.

As pertaining to the series overall, I would say this is my least favorite, my favorite being Ghost's story followed by Brian's and then Evan's; however, it was still an enjoyable read with some fun appears from Brian/Candace and Kelsey.

3.5 disappointed stars.

I really loved Brian and Ghost's stories (I've re-read them multiple times) and this one was so far under par from theirs.

She lets her parents call the shots for her and she's over 30? WTH?
I never felt their connection. It wasn't Ian's fault. I liked him. I didn't like her. Several times in the book I just wanted to slap her.
The whole thing felt rushed and incomplete.
After waiting on this for so long and being such a huge fan, I was really let down with this story.
