This story about a daughter of a doctor turned rancher turned doctor again. Years before the story takes place the doctor saves an outlaws life and said he would always repay him back for saving him. Then one day the daughter and father get visited by the outlaw and his band of men just in their time of need. The person who they took a loan for the ranch comes calling and starts causing trouble. The outlaw and his men help defend the family and protect them as they work on growing their ranch. The daughter takes over the ranch and the doctor starts being a doctor again. During this time things keep happening and the daughter and outlaw start to fall in love and grow their relationship. Soon things turn bad and the person holding the loan starts doing more harm to everyone. And things start to come to light. One of the men that works for the loan holder turns around from a bad guy to a friend to the family and they end up helping him out. As the story continues it’s a page turner and the author does a great job allowing you to be in the story and keeps you reading. In the end I think this is a wonderful book, well written and yolk get to know the characters you feel when they feel. This is a wonderful read and I highly recommend this book.

Rose Dutton is a tough girl, living on her ranch with her father who is a doctor. She reads trashy love stories and fantasizes about a "hero". James Rose is that hero, Rose's dad saved his life many years ago, and he shows up at their ranch just in the nick of time to help with a bad situation. Rose had been "stepping out" with a local rancher, Michael, but ditched him quickly for James. Fortunately Michael was interested in Rose's best friend Belle anyway. It is an oddly twisted story, with bad guys chasing bad guys basically, since James and his band of thieves were actually thieves. Not my favorite book.

This is sort of a fairy tale Western romance. Outlaw is the good guy and the mayor is the villain. The only positive thing about the town was the sheriff was not part of the corruption of the town's politics. After reading this story, I'm sure the author likes to run on about unimportant things to the story or plot. Otherwise, the story is good, but with a bit more editing, it could have been great.

It was a good story.
A dramatic historical western awaits you in this well crafted story. This one has action, adventure, and some really bad guys interwoven into the love story of the hero and heroine. The characters are believable and the story is paced well. I enjoyed the book and it is one I would recommend.

I tried but could not finish. I'm not a fan of the writing style of the author.
