Shadow Squadron #4

Sniper Shield

Rate this book
Lieutenant Kimiyo Yamashita is known for his iron will and nerves of steel, but when Shadow Squadron is tasked with protecting an Iraqi terrorist-turned-politician, even the hardened sniper flinches. Yamashita promises to keep the dirty V.I.P. in his sights at all times . . . but that only makes the itch to pull the trigger more tempting.

The book title is called Sniper Shield because Yamashita was sniping terrorists. Carl Bowen become a writer because he enjoyed writing ever since when he was in elementary school. Carl Bowen is the author of many books like the Shadow squadron and BMX Breakthrough. Carl Bowen wrote the Shadow squadron because he wants to show how difficult some of the jobs in the military were. Yamashita Had a good point about the ex-terrorist. “Did honor ever constrain you from harming innocents?” Yamashita muttered. (pg.55) Nobody had to die. Especially not like that . I mean, you shot him in the throat. (pg.26) Yamashita is a good soldier because he saved shadid's life. Yamashita paused for a moment. Then he said, “If that’s the kind of soldier I was, then you’d have to keep me arm’s length during every mission. (pg.93) I think if you like the military you would like this book. I like this book because it was about the military and I’m really into the military. The saddest part of the book is when Yamashita shot that man in the throat. I liked how Carl put a lot of detail of what there all doing and saying.

I think its a great book my friend told me about this book.I got it but it gives terible cliff hangers you have to get the series to under stand most of it.I wish that it was a littel longer and more EXPLANEING. Then just serching on a sfari hunt. This book it is ok and the things they did was cool and can hook you if you liked fiction and action. The way they don't make the pictures wight and black and it just pops out and diffrent then other book's and makes it stand out . Plus you don't read the first chapter and all ready know whats going to happen. I would read it if there was a new one but they dont. On one or two of the team it would have been better if there were all the characters insted of getting the next book or seirs. Boom new characters and you have no clue who they are and why just if they explane some of the reason they are there or why its there insted of them just having to read the next book saying why. But the good things make up for it.

Read for a book talk

I can definitely see this book being a hit with male reluctant readers. It is well written and the plot and pacing were excellent.

Written in 2013 and set in after the US withdrawal from Iraq, it feels a bit dated now, however, the struggle at the heart of this story is timeless and will appeal to many teenage boys.
