Wow another Great book by Rebecca Zanetti!

 photo best_zps8f0a16dc.gif

Matt is a super sexy, strong, smoking hott sob. He is the oldest of the grey brothers. He is Protective and brave and a total dominant alpha male.

 photo matt_zpsd58175b0.jpg

Holy Hell the things matt says to Laney. I think I just melted into a puddle....

"Spread your legs,” he whispered into her ear, the crass suggestion nearly throwing her into an early orgasm.
“I, ah...”
His other hand tethered in her hair and tugged her head to the side. Hot and firm, his lips traced her jugular until he spoke against her skin. “I believe the words were clear. Spread. Your. Legs."

"You don't want to hit me." "Why not?"
For the first time, he let his mask slip so she could see the predator the government created. "The second you make contact, I'll have you on that bar, held tight, my cock pressed between your legs, my lips on yours until you beg for more. Even fully clothed, I may make you come- and I won't care who's watching."

Ah Mattie you are such a bad bad boy!! This book made me wanna jump my husband!

Action-packed, engaging, and riveting.

Sweet Revenge is the second installment of Sin Brothers series and it was way better than the first one. I must admit, I wasn't much impressed with Forgotten Sins (book 1) and I was quite sure that I wouldn't continue the series. But for some unknown reason, I just bought this book, so I thought since I've already had it, I might as well give it a try. Good thing I did, because it was such an amazing read, full of heart-stopping moments and scorching hot sexy times.

This book had a tightly knit plot. The romance part was wonderful; I could feel the sparks and sexual tension oozing between Matt and Laney every time they were near each other. The suspense was so intense and it kept me guessing and surprising me again and again with every twist and turn. All the action and fight scenes were the best part in this book; they made me thrill as well as made me gasp. They had me gripping my seat tightly in genuine terror and excitement at the same time, and I also lost count of how many times I held my breath while reading those scenes.

The hero, Matt Dean, is everything I want in a man. He's strong, clever, courageous, trustworthy, confident, and protective. He fiercely loves his brothers and he will save their lives at any cost. Matt is a kind of man you can be sure that he will protect you until his very last breath.

The heroine, Laney Jacobs, is a well-developed character in this story. At first, she annoyed the hell out of me. She was a bloody difficult woman and her stubbornness really got on my nerves. But thankfully, she came to her senses when the real danger arose and she could redeem herself eventually.

The last 20% of the book was a nail-biting moment for me. There was so much going on that I felt like I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. And in the end, there was a cliffhanger. In fact, it wasn't an actual cliffhanger, but damn, if I don’t want to read the next book!

By the way, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Fans of romantic suspense can't go wrong with this series.

Wow!
I was pretty taken with book one, only discovering this series, but book 2 was SO much better!
I was really looking forward to Matt'story and hot damn... I wasn't disappointed!
Rebecca Zanetti managed to deliver a freaking awesome suspense plot, entwined with some really HOT scenes! I especially loved that she kept with the original "plot" from book one, this book continues the Gray Brothers quest perfectly.

Now looking to read Nathan story, before book 4 releases!

Sweet Revenge by Rebecca Zanetti
Second read via audiobook. I love Karen White’s narration. It’s suspenseful and engaging.

A five star romantic suspense by Rebecca Zanetti. The hero is an elite skilled warrior that doesn't understand the softer side of women. He made me want to protect him even though he thinks he knows what's best in all situations. He takes a beating and just gets up and continues to stand in front of her. Swoon worthy! And the heroine? She is strong and independent and not about to take orders from anyone. And she would protect him just as much. You can almost see the two of them jockeying for the front position. I especially like how the heroine is helping the homeless and disadvantaged without fanfare. Very nice philanthropy message without being preachy.
Great chemistry between the two. Second in the series but easily stands alone.

"Delicate and soft women were a mystery to him....and he steered clear."
"A pathetic gratefulness filtered through him at being allowed to keep her hand"[in his].

Matt Dean is a genetically enhanced soldier brought up with his brothers in captivity of a "war department". Now that they've escaped, the family needs to find the doctor responsible for surgically implanting a time bomb I to each of them. They have narrowed down the location of the doctor to Charmed, Idaho.
Laney Jacobs owns a bar in Charmed and is immediately drawn to hurt soldier in the alley. She hires him as temporary bouncer. And why not make him a temporary lover as well?

I SHOULD WARN YOU !!!!!! I AM GONNA QUOTE !!!! A LOT !!!!!!!

IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT , DON'T READ IT !

“Ah, baby”—he dropped to one knee and released her hands—“I don’t need to use muscle to receive your submission.”

This review will be all about praising one of the most delicious male specimen in fiction world ! I am completely and utterly in love with Matt!!!!!! and it's not just Matt that won my heart, it's everything about this book that got me completely hooked!

"His grin provided warning. “You’re not ready.”
“I’m so ready I may orgasm without you.”

♡ oh I completely agree with you Laney ♡

the story was amazing!!!! I haven't read the first book in series but I got the thing what is it about really quick. Matt needs to find one woman to help him stay alive, and while being injured he stumbles upon one cute bartender that provides him help. that is, she wanted but fainted.
so he uses her for cover while he searches for the mystery woman.

now, I must admitt that this is my first book I read by Rebecca Zanetti, and I must admitt that I def plan on reading all her other books because ..... well if there are others that are like Matt, or even better... I think no explanation is needed.

this is one of my favorite romantic suspense I ever read! why ? because there wasn't more suspense, and just a drift of romance in the background. this was simply perfectly balanced.

and while he searches for this woman, he sees that Laney could be in danger, but little does he know that Laney has her own secrets .

While he is trying to save himself and his brothers, Laney gets under his skin and he must do everything to protect her.

OMG I can not wait to read Nate's book !!!!!!!!! After how this one ended OMG I have a feeling that one will be brilliant because Nate's story is destined to be amazing !!!!!!

so let me show you why is Matt hot as sin !!!!!!!! I swear I was every time he gave her his predatory smile when she challenged him!!!! *whispering* he is a biker *whispering*
I
♡♡♡

Heated breath brushed her ear. “You ever begged, baby?”
“Never.” She pressed back into the hard length of his erection. “Why? Are you planning to beg?” Yeah, she was pushing him. Something propelled her face-first into danger… Sometimes the reward was worth the risk.
Nimble fingers flicked open her bra. “If I were ever to beg, you’d be worth it.” Calloused hands caressed her breasts. “But I think you’re a woman who needs to be taken… and hard."

♡♡♡

"Spread your legs,” he whispered into her ear, the crass suggestion nearly throwing her into an early orgasm.
“I, ah…”
His other hand tethered in her hair and tugged her head to the side. Hot and firm, his lips traced her jugular until he spoke against her skin. “I believe the words were clear. Spread. Your. Legs"

"He bent over her, his mouth at her ear. “That’s a lovely sound, one just for me, and I will hear it again.”
“Please, Matt…”
“You’re right. I like that even better.” He removed his hand and swung her around. “Take off your clothes."

♡♡♡

"She’d unleashed something within him, and she’d done so on purpose. “Matt, please—”
“No, baby. You’ll beg when you’re on your knees. Later.” His mouth found the sensitive spot beneath her ear in a full assault demanding her compliance. Her surrender.

♡♡♡

"The air vibrated as her hand closed into a fist, and he shook his head. “You don’t want to hit me.”
“Why not?” she ground out.
For the first time, he let his mask slip so she could see the predator the government had created. “The second you make contact, I’ll have you on that bar, held tight, my cock pressed between your legs, my lips on yours until you beg for more. Even fully clothed, I may make you come—and I won’t care who’s watching.”

♡♡♡

"His head dipped down, and his breath brushed her ear. “You know I like your legs open, darlin’.”
God. The simple words from the deep voice with just enough of an order instantly made her wet. “I don’t take orders from you.” Yeah. The breathlessness of her voice may have ruined her defiance.
His index finger slid out and slowly circled her clit. “Is that a fact?”
Heat washed under her skin to pinpoint right where he played. The fierce line of his cock pulsed against her butt. “What are you, a machine?” she mumbled.
“Nope. Flesh-and-blood man. You can tell from the nail marks you left in my back,” he murmured, continuing to torture her."

5 Action Packed and Super Steamy Stars

The man was as wounded as a man could be and as temporary as a storm. He wasn't a guy that stuck around.

Well hot damn! How am I only discovering the awesome that is this author now? What a thrill ride. I'm a huge fan of a good romantic suspense, and this book had it all; action, suspense, and enough steam to set your ovaries on fire. Not to mention a captivating and enthralling story. I may have done things a bit backwards and read this without reading book 1 first, but it did not diminish my enjoyment of it even a little bit. But I do now plan to go back and read the first book and I'm sitting on pins and needles in anticipation of the 3rd book.

Matt Dean is a man on the run, he's also a man on a mission. After escaping the facility where he and his brothers were genetically engineered and raised to be the perfect soldiers and killers, his mission brings him to Charmed, Idaho. Knowing that his time is running out with a deadly chip that was surgically implanted in his spine, he's determined to find the doctor responsible and save himself and his brothers.

Arriving in Charmed he lands a job at a local bar. But the one thing he doesn't expect is his fiery attraction to the bar's owner, Laney Jacobs. Laney is running from her own past demons and the last thing she needs is the distraction of her attraction to the sexy soldier. As secrets become unraveled, can Laney and Matt survive long enough to save each other?

If you like super sexy commando alpha men, you need to read this book. Lord but Matt made me swoon. From the very first I knew he would be a hero that I'd be lusting after, and boy but he did not disappoint.
You don't want to hit me."
"Why not?"
For the first time, he let his mask slip so she could see the predator the government created. "The second you make contact, I'll have you on that bar, held tight, my cock pressed between your legs, my lips on yours until you beg for more. Even fully clothed, I may make you come- and I won't care who's watching.

I ask you, what woman in her right mind can resist sweet talk like that? Not this one, that's for damn sure. And Laney was no exception.
I loved Laney's character. She was strong, yet in a somewhat understated way. She fought for what she thought was right, and I really enjoyed the way she cared for Matt.

This book was such a thrill ride, filled with twists and turns that I never saw coming. Throw in a crazy serial killer into the mix, and you have the recipe for one amazing action filled ride.

The romance between Laney and Matt went from a slow burn to an inferno in no time flat.

The one thing I really enjoyed was the the romance never overshadowed the story, but yet it was the perfect icing on the cake. And let me tell you IT.WAS.HOT. Steaming. Scorching. Wowza! Rebecca Zanetti can write one hell of a love scene. This girl was certainly not left disappointed, but begging for more of the Dean brothers.

Matt was protective, sexy, broody, everything I love in a hero. Laney was a fantastic heroine as well. There was not one part I didn't like. My only complaint is that it was over and I wanted more. And that teaser into Nathan's book, I CANNOT WAIT! It looks to be the best one yet.

If you love action packed and super steamy romantic suspense, do not pass this book up. This is definitely going on my auto-buy series list.

This was really good! I have had a copy of this book to read for years but failed to actually start reading it until now. After reading the first book in the series recently, I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I do feel like this series is best when read in order since some of the events from the first book come into play in this installment. Once I started reading this one, I hard a hard time putting it down and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Matt and Laney are the focus of this book. Matt is the oldest of his brothers and always tries to take care of everything. He needs to find the doctor that has the ability to save him and his brothers and he has it narrowed down to the small town of Charmed, Idaho. He gets a job working at the local bar owned by Laney and the pair have an instant connection. Before long, things in town get a lot more complicated than they ever imagined.

Matt and Laney were both great characters and I thought that they were great together. I thought that the chemistry between them was amazing. They did have a few communication issues at the start of the story but they eventually learned to work together very well. They were both incredibly capable people that were protective of the people that they cared about. It was really easy to cheer this pair on.

This story was really exciting. Matt's mission to find the doctor that could save them was interesting enough but there was some additional crime occurring in the small town that really added to the excitement. There were some revelations in the story that completely surprised me and a ton of action worked into the story. It was really easy to be hooked by this story.

Karen White continues to do an amazing job with the narration of this series. I really like the quality of her voice and thought that she did a wonderful job with all of the character voices. I thought that she was able to bring a lot of emotion to the story. I had such a good time listening to this story and believe that her narration added to my enjoyment.

I would recommend this book to others. I put off reading this series for a number of years and am so glad that I finally have made it a priority. This book was filled with wonderful characters, intense action, and some incredibly romantic moments. I cannot wait to start reading the next book in the series.

I received a digital review copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley and borrowed a copy of the audiobook from my local library.

Initial Thoughts
This was really good! I liked Matt and Laney were both great characters and they were really good together. The story had a lot of excitement and there were a few twists that I didn't see coming. I was able to guess a few things but for the most part, this story kept me guessing. I listened to the audiobook and thought that the narrator did a fantastic job with the reading of the story.

HOLY MOLY!! This book was even better than the first. Here, I thought Shane was smoking hot, well now, Matt has totally taken his place. Yowza!

Laney Jacobs owns a bar, in which she bartends in the small town of Charmed, Idaho. She is happy with her life in this quaint town and cares about most of the people in it. Then Matt comes into her bar looking for employment. She knows he's dangerous and sexy as sin, despite that, she relents and accepts him to work at her bar as a bouncer/bartender. She is attracted to him. She tries to fight it and keep things professional, but it gets harder and harder. He seems to possess all that she craves. Things can just be temporary between them. That's what they think when they finally give in to their attraction.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"You don't want to hit me."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I've got to say, I really liked Laney. She has a secret of her own. One I slightly suspected but kept changing my mind about. She was strong for the most part, but every heroine needs a hero to protect her. That's what Laney got in Matt. She would fight to protect those important to her, but also loved feeling safe in Matt's arms. I loved her for going out to get what she wants, and she did just that with Matt. She challenged Matt, and the results of challenging him were freaking HOT! So, I liked her for that alone, for making his sexy beast come out.

Matt has always been really protective of his brothers. He felt responisble for their well being. After losing his brother Jory, he knows he needs to step up and help his brothers find the code for the chip that could kill them in three short months. This is what he is doing in Charmed, Idaho. He has a lead. The doctor who surgically inserted those chips into their spines is there. He just needs to find out who she is. Then he meets Laney, a woman who makes him feel things he never has before. He has a secret of his own, one he can't tell Laney about. But his alpha instincts kick in whenever he is near her, he must protect what is his. No matter how much he tries to resist having anything more meaningful with Laney, she won't let him.

I LOVED Matt!! Seriously, So. Friggin'. Sexy. He blasted those panties right off of me. The dirty things he said and did. GAH!! He was just so awesome with his alpha commando-ness. And all those steamy scenes were scorching. He was super protective, possessive, caring, and even sweet at times. I want him for myself! He was such a great brother. Loved him, just freaking loved him! I think that says it all.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

For his entire life, he'd never broken a promise. So he gave her one. "Forever, Laney. I promise."
●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

This book was just amazeballs! There was a perfect balance between entertaining suspense and crazy foggy steam. The storyline had me hooked since the first book, and it continues to do so, if not more. There was a twist in this book too! I don't know how Rebecca manages to do this, but I never freaking see it coming. That's just so awesome. I don't want to spoil it, you'll have to read it to know what I mean. But really enjoyed this one more than the last. The ending was wonderfully done. I was really happy with Laney and Matt's conclusion. And THAT freaking epilogue. OMG!! I CAN'T wait for Nathan's book!! There was sort of a storyline cliffhanger, that has nothing to do with Laney and Matt's relationship. So, you don't have to worry. But I am HIGHLY anticipating that book. I definitely recommend you give this a read. It's so good!

4.5 Smokin' Hot Sweet Revenge Stars!!!

 photo Sweet Revenge Casting_zpswnoskmbx.jpg

"The man was as wounded as a man could be and as temporary as a storm. He wasn’t a guy who stuck around.

Damn these two were on fire!!! This is one hell of an explosively addictive series! It's got a little bit of everything and I am loving the hell out of it. I love a good romantic suspense series and this is really an adrenaline pumping one!! I have no nails left. I loved Shane but good God I think Matt and his dirty, alpha mouth just stole my heart!

This book starts out right where Forgotten Sins left of. The Gray brothers are in a race against the clock on a mission to find answers that will lead them to deactivating the life-ending chips that they all have in their backs. Matt is undercover in the small town of Charmed, Idaho searching for the doctor/ surgeon that incapacitated him and his brothers five years ago.

Laney is the feisty bar owner that gives Matt a job while he is trying to lay low. But soon it is explosive chemistry and bigtime fireworks between these two.

“Who are you?” she whispered. “The guy who’s going to have you screaming his name within the next hour.”

As much as I enjoyed the first book, I definitely loved this one even more. First of all, it's just more intense and the pacing is much faster because they are running out of time. I expect that the remaining two books will be even faster paced.

The book really didn't give me a moment to put it down to where I thought it was ok to leave the story for a second. There is always something going on. There was twist after twist here too.

My heart melts for all of these poor brothers. They are alpha warriors, but at the end of the day, they just want peace, love and family.

“I’ve lost everyone I’ve ever cared about, and I’ve never loved somebody like this. I can’t lose it, and I won’t lose you.”

There were a couple things at the end that I found kind of hard to believe...medically and what not, but not enough to where it detracted from my enjoyment of the story.

Quick review! The Gray brothers only have five flippin' weeks left and I MUST know how this all ends!!! Diving into Blind Faith immediately!

Basically...

I am really enjoying this series. I love the slight paranormal aspect...it's nothing too over the top...more sci-fi, actually, with these genetically modified commando brothers rebelling against the evil secret government team that created them.

Matt is the oldest brother, and therefore has always felt responsible for his three younger siblings. The supposed death of the youngest brother, Jory, hit him very hard. Since Shane admitted to thinking he saw evidence that Jory was alive, Matt has been fighting against all hope, trying to be realistic about their situation. And right now, his main objective is to track down the doctor that implanted the microchips near their spines...the devices set to explode in six weeks, severing their spinal cords and ending the Gray brothers.

So Matt tracks the lady doctor to the town of Charmed and narrows down the possible candidates. His entrance into town is, of course, somewhat unorthodox...stumbling into the bar with a knife slash across his torso is a good way to gain unwanted attention. Fortunately, he gains the attention of the lovely, kindhearted, but somewhat reclusive bar owner, Laney Jacobs.

Laney has been running from her past as well, and she has secrets to rival those of Matt. These two embark on a sexy little journey of love, lust, hidden identities, and life-altering secrets. Matt fights his feelings because not only is he fated to die soon, but because his focus needs to be on saving his brothers. Laney fights the mutual attraction because she instinctively knows that Matt is a man who brings danger to her world, and if there's one thing that she's had enough of in her life, it's danger.

I love the familial aspect in this series. Since book one, when Shane reunited with his wife, all of the brother took her into the fold and now consider her one of their own. I just love that...I adore the protective side of a soldier, that innate sense of responsibility for those around them, the deep seated need to protect those that they consider theirs. Zanetti does it well here, not to mention some very spicy sexy times and long stretches of action that made it hard to stop reading. I am now completely invested in these characters and hoping against all hope that we get a fourth book...because that means that not only does Nate get a book (talk about dropping a bomb on that guy!) but also that Jory somehow made it out of his deadly predicament.

The 2nd book in the Sins Brothers Series, and I am totally captivated.

Matt Dean and his three younger brothers were created and engineered with special skills by a secret government group. Having escaped from the compound, they are bent on revenge and finding a way to remove the chips that were implanted in their spinal cords, which are set to explode and kill them within the next few weeks.

Matt has always been protective of his brothers and he will go to the ends of the world to keep them alive and safe.

I adored Matt. He may be dangerous but he also has a side of him that wants to help and care for people. He’s an incredible and more than awesome hero.
On his mission to find the doctor who did the chip implants on them, he finds himself in a little town called Charmed, where he meets the local bar owner, Laney Jacobs.

Laney is an interesting character. Kind, sweet and caring for the underdog….but strong at the same time. She has some dark secrets that when revealed will lead to some unexpected results….the most surprising is the one regarding Matt.

The chemistry build-up between the two is totally awesome.

The plot is really intriguing – the subplot of the serial killer is an interesting addition to the story. Hell, I never saw that coming, when the full story is revealed.

I am really enjoying this series.

Love me some Mattie...I am so happy to know that there was no book 2 let down! More action, more drama, more answers to the genetic/military mystery surrounding these men!

MATT DEAN...the oldest, most respected brother whose fierce nature to lead and protect put him on a collision course to meet a his female match. Laney Jacobs is no damsel in distress, but she is not who she says either. She is truly the one he has been looking for...only her purpose in his life has shifted to both want and need. One Dean brother has already fallen and put his heart and life on the line, it is not too shocking to find Mattie struggling with the concepts of love and forever.

Screw logic and reason...Mattie is hot for the traitor and my girl Laney is balls to the wall brave...she pushes it in Matt's face with no shame in her game! They may only have 6 weeks left together, they may get knifed, they may get shot...who the hell cares! They are hot and heavy and sexy as hell!

I am an official Sins Brother's fan...Mattie was the perfect alpha with perfect softness and just good inside and out. I cannot wait for Nate as I can tell he is all kinds of bad!

I love it when a book keeps me at the edge of my seat, and the danger, excitement, and spicy romance contained in Sweet Revenge ticked all the right boxes for me! If you love romantic suspense like I do, you can’t go wrong with Rebecca Zanetti!

Matt Dean, is in pursuit of the infamous Dr. Peters, the doctor who implanted the devices in their spines set to detonate in just six weeks, ending the Gray brother’s lives. A list of suspects brings him to Charmed, Idaho where he meets the sexy bartender, Laney. Meeting Laney provides Matt with a perfect cover when she offers to hire Matt as a bouncer/fill in bartender, and he’s happy to stay close to the gorgeous and sassy bar-owner. Little does Matt know that Laney has her own share of dangerous secrets. Matt feels an immediate pull towards her, but what touches him the most is the help and care she extends.

Raised expressly to become elite soldiers and killing machines, Matt and his brothers were never shown love or kindness. The only love they knew was between the brothers, and they banded together to esc apetheir evil commander and his plans. Their escape will be cut short if they don’t find the surgeon to deactivate the chips and the clock is ticking.

Laney is on the run from a dangerous past, but has spent the last three years in Charmed, Idaho in relative peace. That’s until the hunky and hot ex-soldier passes out in her alleyway. Laney doesn’t count on having any future with a man because of her past trouble, but it’s hard to ignore the magnetic pull Matt has on her. Add to all of this is the threatening notes she starts receiving made all the more scary when her friend is brutally murdered. Is there a stalker/killer loose in the idyllic small country town? Or is it Laney’s past finally catching up to her? Whatever it is, she’s happy to have Matt at her back. Matt and Laney come to rely on each other in spite of their pasts.

Rebecca Zanetti is a master at romantic suspense and she did not disappoint with this installment of the Sin Brothers series. Not only was I on the edge of my seat trying to figure out the identity of the surgeon, there were a few possibilities in town, but I was anxious over Laney being targeted by the serial killer! Add in Matt’s internal ticking time bomb and there was never a dull moment! The ending was one thrill ride!

At the heart of the story are two souls connected deeply. Both thought they’d never have a chance at happily-ever-after; the love and comfort they find in each other is something they’ve never experienced, and something they won’t let go of:

“I’ve lost everyone I’ve ever cared about, and I’ve never loved somebody like this. I can’t lose it, and I won’t lose you … This has nothing to do with equal rights or trust. This is life, and you’re mine.”

This story wraps up nicely like Forgotten Sins did, but continuing story arc of the evil commander and his pursuit of the Gray brothers is still up in the air. There were some progress made, but one threat I had hoped resolved is still looming over the boys.

A copy was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 Better than I expected!

next, a confusing review

I haven't read the previous book and I had no idea what to expect from this book. I got used to the typical romance novel and that's what I thought I'll find here.

True, it is that typical romance read, but it also has a bit of a twist, it has something special. Maybe it's the enhanced soldier, maybe it's the great chemistry these two have, but it doesn't really matter, does it. The main thing is, it's worth reading, it might surprise you.

No more than 3.5 stars from me though because no matter how good it was, it didn't really make me feel too much.

***4.5 Stars***

Whoa! What a ride this book was!

Sweet Revenge is the continuation of the Sin Brothers series and focuses on the oldest Gray brother, Matt.

The brothers are still on the hunt to find a way to deactivate the chips next to their spines. They have approximately two months left before the chips detonate, killing them.

Matt has arrived in Charmed, Idaho, a small town where he believes he's located the doctor responsible for implanting the chips. Here he meets Laney, a woman on the run and hiding from her past. She's settled into small town life as a local bar owner, when she finds Matt in the alley behind her bar bleeding. She invites him in to care for his wound, but ends up passing out from the sight of blood. Matt takes this opportunity to set up a great cover when he sees the help wanted sign at Laney's bar, along with a free room. Needless to say, sparks fly.

Laney sees something dangerous, yet comforting in Matt.

"The face of a fallen angel and eyes that had seen hell were an intriguing combination."

"...the body of a god and the ego of a demon."

Matt knows he should stay away from Laney and focus on his mission, but somehow he finds soothing peace when he's with her.

"Hold on as tight as you need, Mattie. I've got you."

But with Laney's sketchy past, Matt's life as a slowly ticking time bomb and a possible serial killer on the loose targeting Laney, do these two even have a future?

"You overwhelm me." He threaded his hand through her hair.

"You scare the hell out of me."

And that's it....that's ALL you're getting from me.

This is one non-stop crazy, twisty turning ride. I was guessing what was going on from the very first page. Who to trust? What to believe? You feel the urgency of Matt's situation in every action. His push and pull with a life he wants but doesn't dare to hope to have or believe he deserves.

"You're a good guy, whether you want to be or not."

"I'm not even close to a good guy, but the fact that you believe so makes me happy."

And Laney...I loved her spunk. She wasn't a pushover. She held her own against Matt and anything that came her way. No cowering damsel in distress here folks!

And the steam between these two....HOLY. HELL. HOT. Matt may have a ticking time bomb in his back, but he takes his time when it matters!

The book resolves many issues with regards to both the romance and suspense, but still continues the Gray brothers' quest. We do get more answers, but unfortunately so many more questions. I'm looking forward to reading Nate's book and hopefully getting closer to a resolution for this band of brothers. And with Nate's book rooted so deeply in the Gray history, I'm sure it will not disappoint.

Overall, a fantastic series. Just the perfect balance of romance and suspense. Neither overshadowing the other. This book will have you on the edge of your seat and tingling all over.

"This is life, and you're mine."

5 Smokin' Hot Sweet Stars!!!

I loved this one as much as the first book Forgotten Sins !! I didn't think any of the Gray brothers could be as sinfully sexy as Shane....I was sooooo wrong!!! This book picks up where Forgotten Sins ends. Matt & Nate are still on the hunt for the doctor who can help them remove the deadly chip implanted in them.

Matt goes undercover in a bar and meets sweet, compassionate Laney. He and his brothers have narrowed down three doctors in the small town where Laney owns the local bar. There is more to Laney than meets the eye, she is terrified of someone or something not to mention she has caught the eye of a serial killer...which is the least of her problems. There are plenty of twist and turns and surprises that I didn't see coming, brilliant job Rebecca Zanetti!!!

Fantastic epilogue that left me panting for more of the "Sin Brothers" we also get glimpse into Nate's book "Blind Faith" .... Can't wait, I want it now!!!

Wow, this is romantic suspense done right. Zanetti is a great writer and she has created a great series with some great characters here. The plot is compelling and the action is awesome - and most importantly, it's solid in the sense that the characters are not alphas and yet thwarted easily. They are true badass dudes who do badass things with badass moves.

Can't WAIT for Nate's story next!

Jennifer and I are both weighing in on this story. I read it and she listened to it so you'll get more than just two story perspectives.

Quick summary
The story continues, this time with the eldest of the Dean brothers. Matt arrives in Charmed, Idaho, following a lead that points to this town where he might find one of the doctors who knows the key to disarming the chip imbedded in him and his brothers. Laney Jacobs owns and operates a bar there and takes him in and gives him shelter and a job. They are terribly attracted to each other but aren't being completely honest about their pasts and agendas.

The mystery and suspense
Jonetta: One of the highlights is the mystery and surprises around every bend. It was impossible to not second guess every character's true nature, not knowing if they were minions for the Commander. Even Laney had secrets that, when revealed, caught me off guard. There were a quite few scenes I found extremely exciting, keeping me on edge.

Jennifer: While the mystery and suspense was well written it didn't take me long to figure most of it out pretty fast. At least who Matt was looking for but the side mystery with the serial killer was great! I liked Sweet Revenge's mystery and suspense more than in book 1, Forgotten Sins.

The romance
Jonetta: From the onset, Matt and Laney were either fighting their attraction or giving into it, vowing to restrain themselves going forward. I liked both of them individually, liked when they came together but got frustrated with Laney's inability to decide whether she could trust Matt or not. When the Dean brothers fall, it's fast and hard so you just have to get comfortable with their insta-luv tendencies.

Jennifer: The romance between Matt and Laney grabbed me more than the romance in book 1. Matt is the typical alpha male and Laney is an independent gal so ya, they butted heads a few times. I liked that Laney didn't just roll over and let Matt take charge.

The narration
Jennifer: Karen White is well suited for the romance genre. She does a great job with the female characters. I loved her drunken voices for the gals and her southern twang for Claire was awesome. I would like to hear Karen do more female southerns. I need to see if she does any funny chick lit books.

The bottom line
Jonetta: I enjoyed this book more than the first, primarily because there was more tension, mystery and action. It wasn't predictable and that kept things lively. Laney knew how to handle herself in spite of Matt's über Alpha-ness. I just wish there had been less waffling with the romance. We got a few steps closer to solving the doomsday chip issue and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Jennifer: I like that the series is following a series story arc with each bother getting their time to shine in their own books. I agree, Sweet Revenge was sweeter (see what I did there) than Forgotten Sins and I can't wait to read Nate's book, Blind Faith.

4 Stars.

Rebecca Zanetti is an author I have heard of, but The Sins Brothers Series are the first of her books I have read. Impressed is an understatement, that's for sure. I love a series, but a series about a family of over-protective, dominant, kick-ass, slightly different (genetically modified) brothers, well I am all over that!! I loved book one Forgotten Sins, which gave us Shane's story, and it was fast paced, full of twists and turns, and lot's of sexy alpha male, protecting his woman.

In Sweet Revenge we are given Matt's story, he is all of the above, as well as having some seriously hot conversational skills....

Laney - "Who are you?" She whispered....

Matt - "The guy who is going to have to screaming his name within the next hour."

Sweet Revenge starts off a little more of a slow burn, mostly because you are reading of the development of a new relationship, and not of an already established one as in Forgotten Sins. Matt and Laney go really well together, and one of the big plus points for the books for me so far, is the fact that Rebecca gives us a kick-ass, not afraid to throw a punch, or knee you in the nuts heroine. I love this, its great to read, instead of your usual simpering indecisive female that we seem to be getting alot of lately, Laney and Josie (Forgotten Sins) are both women who aren't afraid to stick up for themselves and those that they love.

The other plus is the continuation and development of the Dean/Gray brothers story. We also get to see a little more of Nate in this book, and I cannot wait to read his story. You are given an indication in Sweet Revenge as to where it will take us, and I am extremely intrigued to see if this will be a 3 or 4 book series. If you have read the first two books like me, I am sure you will be rooting for four books *everything crossed right now for that*.

I went back over the parts of the book I highlighted, and I noticed a trend pretty quickly, as I previously mentioned Matt has got the kind of mouth I love, in that with just words he can turn you into a gibbering lusty wreck in just one sentence, Yummy!! Like his brothers he is over-protective and dominant, when it comes to Laney, but I liked that he gave her the space to fight her own battles when it was safe too.

Matt "I think you're a woman who needs to be taken... and hard."

All I can really say in sum up, is hurry up May 6th, I cannot wait for Blind Faith, and the continuation of this highly-addictive series of books. If you want a fast-paced, high impact, totally engrossing read, then look no further, I would however recommend that you read book 1 firstly, and they are definitely not stand-alone stories.

4.5 Raw Male, Action-packed Stars

I am totally loving this series and am hooked. I loved the first book and this one just made me love the Gray brothers even more. This story is full of suspense, action and a lotta lovin'-- Matt Dean is pure, primal Warrior and just a force to be reckoned with! And despite her past, I loved Lainey - spunk, her capacity to love and buck-up for her man. Can't wait for Blind Faith!!

I know that this series has a lot of fans and I generally like it, too. But I must also admit that I’ve read some series that I enjoyed more than this one.

The plot of this book is a continuation of the story in the first book. The Dean brothers are still fighting against the organization that is behind their existence and are trying to obtain a way to remove from their bodies chips that will cause their death in six weeks. Matt, the eldest of the brothers, discovers that the doctor who is to blame for implanting the chips is hiding in the small town of Charmed. So, he hires himself at Laney, the owner of the bar, and pokes around looking.

Matt and Laney are nice characters, not outstanding or extensively remarkable but pretty nice ones. I had no problem with them, although Laney could be less stubborn from time to time. Their romance is mostly based on the idea of a love at first sight and this is not something I usually like. And when you look at the amount of days they spend together, their deep feelings seem somewhat unrealistic. But I could go over it most of the time.

The additional suspense part about the serial killer killing businesswoman in sweet named towns has quite a potential. I wish this part is more developed. Still, all the plot-lines provide enough action for the book to be interesting.

Nice addition to the series, I will read the next one as soon as I need the Z book again.

Okay...either these are getting more predictable or I'm just that

Because I pretty much had this one figured out at every twist and turn...well except for one person being involved.

And IDK, is it just me or was this storyline somewhat similar to the first book?!?!? The same discussions regarding how bad of an idea it is to fall in love with the heroine....

There seem to be two concurring events in these books. The ongoing mission of the Brothers trying to locate the commander and get their chips removed and then another involving the heroine and some threat to her.

And speaking of that storyline.....

Sweet Revenge is Matt's book. It picks up where Forgotten Sins left off. Matt is on the hunt for a doctor that was involved in the implantation of their chips. They need to find the code to de-activate the chips if they want to live.

It has been determined that the good doctor resides in Charmed, Idaho. Matt's first night there he meets bar owner Laney. She offers him a job and a place to live.

One thing leads to another and things between Laney and Matt heat up.

Matt finds the doctor but before they can work on getting the code and de-activating the chips they have to elimiate the threat against Laney.

At this point, for me things became too OTT. When showed up at the police station. AND then

I mean are they just in cahoots with people all over the world??? In places where the Brothers just happen to show up??

I also love how Laney went from not being able to protect herself AT ALL to being a badass.

And of course we get to the end and the Brothers aren't any closer to getting the chips de-activated.

This one was kind of insta-lovey too. It sounds like I didn't really like it much....but I did like it....some. Maybe.

It had some pretty hot sex. And it was well-written. I think it's just best if I don't read books like these back to back. Romantic suspense isn't my genre of choice....so like kidnapping/assassin books, they are best read periodically, in single doses.

BUT if you are a fan of romantic suspense then I think this is a great series to read.

I read this one right after Forgotten Sins and I'm glad that I felt absolutely no sense of repetitiveness. Sometimes when I read series about different couple, I felt like the author just recycle the same formula. That's not the case here.

I like the forward flow of the suspense department in regards to the Commander's story arc. After the ending in Book 1 with Shane's HEA, we have Matt's story. The brothers have six more weeks to live before the chip in their spine will detonate. Matt had been trying to locate this surgeon who used to work for the Commander to get her to remove the chip for them. Now they have managed to narrow down their search to Charmed, Idaho.

Laney was a bar owner cum bartender at Charmed. She had been hiding some secret past, which intrigue me because I don't know what was she hiding from. When Matt stumbled upon her bar and persuaded her to give him a job as the bouncer, she reluctantly agreed.

Matt was the eldest brother among the family. He was the leader, the protector and the fixer of the family. He had been shouldering a huge responsibility on his brothers welfare since young and Jory who might or might not be dead really did tattered his soul.

Honestly, sometime I felt Matt didn't have a sense of urgency. He only have six more weeks to live! It seemed like I'm more nervous than him. He was so damn calm with juggling his new bouncer job, worming his way into Laney's heart, handling a homicide fiasco and spying on the three suspects who might or might not be the surgeon.

I think I might just like Matt and Laney more. They have no prior history and their relationship started fresh and kept moving forward. Despite some of the awful revelation, Laney was still convince Matt is the one for her. Matt second guess himself due to his responsibility for the family. This man simply too great a brother. But he might just need to be selfish for once and make himself a happy man.

The best part of the books was whenever all the brothers got together to fight off the bad guys. I love their family dynamic. They totally kick some serious ass. On other part of my pervy brain, I did wondered why do these genetically engineered brothers have such high libido. You might thought the Commander wanted them to be emotionless and sterile.

Despite each book featured a different brother and they each got their HEA, you definitely have to start from Book 1 to get a grip of the overall story arc in regards to their constant battle with the Commander and whereabouts of their youngest siblings, Jory.

Overall I enjoyed Matt's story more than Shane's story. I still felt that I'm not in awe with the romance department yet, but Rebecca Zanetti had a knack for making me care for the hero and heroine, the brothers, the suspense and left me wanting the next book right away. Can't wait for the long await Nate and Audrey's reunion. I'm hoping that their history will set up for an epic romance.

“I’m not one of the good guys, baby, but I’d prefer you somewhat in control of your faculties if this is going where I think it is.”

Her gaze dropped to his full lips. “You’re closer to a good guy than you believe.”

For answer, he curled his free hand around her neck and drew her over the bar. “Don’t look for traits I don’t have. I know exactly who I am.”

“Who are you?” she whispered.

“The guy who’s going to have you screaming his name within the next hour.”

If you haven’t read Forgotten Sins, the first book in the Sins Brothers series, I strongly recommend you read that book first. It lays the groundwork and background for Sweet Revenge and I think this is one series where the books really do need to be read in order. If you have not read Forgotten Sins, you may not want to read this review as it may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk!

We got a small teaser of Sweet Revenge at the end of Forgotten Sins and I’ve been looking forward to reading this second book for quite a while. Sweet Revenge opens where Forgotten Sins ended. Matt, along with his brothers, is working against the clock to find information that will help disable the chips that that were implanted in their backs. If they aren’t able to find the code to disable the chips within 6 weeks, the chips will explode, severing their spines and killing them. Oh the drama of it all!

Matt comes to the town of Perfect, Idaho after clues point to the surgeon living and practicing medicine there. He immediately meets bar owner Laney Jacobs who agrees to give him a job and a place to stay while she is short staffed. I don’t want to give too much about the story line and what happens but both characters have things they are hiding. There are a lot of different factors that come into play which affect the developing relationship between Matt and Laney as well as their safety.

The sparks between Matt and Laney are immediate and the chemistry between these two only grows from there. Both Matt and Laney realize becoming involved is not a good idea but both find it very hard to resist the lure of the other. These two together are nothing but steamy and their romance is HOT!

Any control he thought he had snapped into nothingness. Grabbing her hips, half lifting her from the bed, he plunged inside her hard. His other hand snaked up her side to clamp over her shoulder from behind, yanking her down to meet his primal thrusts.

She closes her eyes as incredible pleasure melded with pressure inside her. Each thrust, each pound, only increased the desperate craving. He hit nerves she didn’t even know existed. She let him take her, helpless in his hold and her need. He moved her as he wanted her, his pounding fast and furious.

Electricity uncoiled within her, sending sparks to burn her from within. Her eyelids flipped open as the orgasm took her over, rode her, forced her to explode in a climax so violent she couldn’t even whimper. She arched her back, her mouth open in a silent scream. Waves of pleasure rippled through her, touching more than flesh, more than right now.

He took everything she was.

I liked Shane in Forgotten Sins but I LOVED Matt in this book! He is scrumptious. A definite alpha, he is protective and bossy. He is used to taking care of his brothers and is used to calling the shots. He has a slight edge to his personality and that just makes him all the sexier.

She nipped his skin, biting hard enough it had to sting.

Drawing back her head, he lowered his face toward hers. “I like you playing, and I like you brave, but don’t think for a second you’re directing this.”

Her eyebrow rose in challenge, feminine intrigue sweeping through her. “Prove it.”

Dangerous words to say to such a man. But why not?

His smile showed but amusement and the confidence of a predator. “With pleasure.” With superfast reflexes, he twirled her around to face the couch. Yanking her shirt over her head, he caged her with his body. Heated breath brushed her ear. “You ever begged, baby?”

I normally don’t read many books that can be considered paranormal. I took a chance on the first book in the series as a fluke and really enjoyed it. While there is a paranormal element to the story because the brothers have enhanced DNA, at its core, the Sins Brothers series is a fast paced, steamy, romantic suspense series that just happens to have paranormal elements. For readers like me that don’t normally read paranormal books, I’d recommend not shying away from these books. They are definitely worth another look, especially for readers that enjoy romantic suspense with alpha/warrior heros and a healthy dose of steam.

I do want to mention, Sweet Revenge does have a HEA for Matt and Laney but the overall story line, that started in book one, revolving around the brothers future, the chips in their back, and the Commander is not resolved in this book. That part of the story will be picked up in the next book and I imagine will continue through the end of the series. I personally don’t consider this a cliffhanger but it is an ongoing story line.

At the end of Sweet Revenge the author gives a teaser of the third book in the series, Blind Faith, which is set to release in May of 2014. This will be Nate’s story. I actually chose not to read the teaser this time because it’s just too hard to get the tease when I can’t get the book for so many months! While I am definitely looking forward to reading about Nate and seeing this jilted, hard-ass man get his HEA, it’s Jory that has intrigued me the most. Is he alive? Where has he been? Who was the woman who shot him? So many questions left to answer and I can’t wait!

Overall, I liked Forgotten Sins but I LOVED Sweet Revenge! This book definitely cemented this series as a must read for me. The writing is solid, the story seems very well thought out and well-paced and I was interested from beginning to end. This was a solid 4.5 STAR READ for me and I look forward to reading more in this series and more from this author! (Just a side note, I actually didn’t realize that Rebecca Zanetti has written a couple books in the Entangled Brazen collection and I have already added to my TBR list.)

Second in the triology. Another hot alpha male. Another fragile seeming woman. This girl was actually a bit more fragile than the heroine in the last book. I liked her and the way she ran her bar sort of to the benefit of the local community. The hero was another nice alpha guy who fell head over heels. The story with the brothers becomes clearer with this book. Plenty of action and the over arching plot seems to be moving forward at a pretty good pace.

After reading the first book, I thought that nothing could get better than the first book, but boy was I wrong. Sweet Revenge was just as good or even better than Forgotten Sins. After seeing the bonds between these brothers, I was super excited for Matt's story. Matt is the oldest brother, and I loved how protective he is of them. We also see how much losing his baby brother is tearing him apart inside. Matt as the oldest, feels responsible, and refuses to lose the brothers he has left.

“I’ve lost everyone I’ve ever cared about, and I’ve never loved somebody like this. I can’t lose it, and I won’t lose you … This has nothing to do with equal rights or trust. This is life, and you’re mine.”

We see instant sparks between Matt and Lanie. Even though Lanie doesn't trust Matt, she softens toward him and even though they are sexually explosive together, the relationship is so tender and sweet at times.

“I love completely, Laney, and I’m sure it’s a pain in the ass … You have my heart and always will.”

I just couldn't get enough of these two and it was interesting seeing how strong their bond to each other develops. But there is one secret that totally blew me away...well multiple secrets, but I can tell you without revealing too much, that this secret I DID NOT see coming. This story just gets more and more intense, the suspense builds with each chapter you read. And boy was it intense, both the plot and the romance between Matt and Laney. Matt is quite the alpha male, likes being in control over a situation, is a one woman man, posseisve and sexy as hell. Lanie is spirted and courageous and a fighter. What a backbone she has, and she is quite the match for Matt here. What we also have is the reveal of certain side characters that aren't what they seem. And I thought I was suprised in Forgotten Sins...but oh boy, Sweet Revenge beats Forgotten Sins on the surprises and shocks and those unique twists that build the story even more. I find myself just soaking up every moment and intense scene that Sweet Revenge gives us. This is a story that is intense, poignantly romantic and action packed that builds. I just can't get enough...now onto the third book. I am practically addicted, I have a feeling I am going to have to read all four books because boy there is nothing better than a story that packs a punch like Sweet Revenge does.

The Cover

I LOVE this cover, and boy sexy as sin right? I love the danger feel to it, with the scruff on his face (I love light scruffiness)

*Received an ARC.

I am a huge fan of Zanetti's mainly due to her other paranormal series. Love her writing, her characters are dream-worthy and fantastic and the world she creates whether paranormal or not - damn good!

Mattie is my least favorite brother out of the four. I LOVE Nate and cannot wait for his book which is next (the little teaser at the end? ACK. OMG *hyperventilates*) I love Shane's story and the big mystery brother Jory - well Im really, really interested in him.

With that said, I enjoyed this book and I'm surprised I didn't see the little plot twist coming. I did in the beginning, but as the story progressed, I became more engrossed with the budding relationship with the two MC's rather than the other plot situation with Mattie's plans.

It's not my favorite out of everything Zanetti's written. It's not the best out of the series even, I bet. Middle book syndrome a bit. But it's still a solid 3.5-4 stars :0)
