When Tom tried to save Frankie, his pet goldfish, from certain death at the hands of his evil-scientist big brother, Mark, Frankie accidentally became a zombie goldfish with incredible hypnotic powers. He might be one fierce fish, but he's a great pet to have on your side when your big bro's hobbies include wedging you in the dog flap and generally trying to take over the world. When Tom and his best friend Pradeep take Frankie on a camping adventure, they discover something seriously fishy going on in the woods and, for once, it's nothing to do with Frankie. Could rumours of an escaped big cat on the loose mean the zombie goldfish has finally met his match? In story two, something seriously weird is going on with Mark. He's actually being ...nice! As if this wasn't worrying enough, Frankie's been kidnapped! Can Tom and Pradeep find out what's going on and rescue their fishy friend before it's too late?

"Originally from America, I moved to London because I wanted to live abroad but spoke no foreign languages. After a brief and unsuccessful stint as a serving wench at the Tower of London I found work as an actress and comedy performer. I’ve perfomed regularly at Edinburgh and London comedy festivals. A few years back I got a job touring around the UK as a storyteller and that’s when I discovered that kids liked, laughed at and didn’t fall asleep when I performed stuff that I wrote myself. I was hooked on writing and performing for kids..."

I won a copy of this book through a Goodreads Giveaway. It took forever to get to me, but I’m very happy that the book finally came.
If I was a kid, this is the type of story that I would read over and over again until the pages were falling out. Tom’s brother Mark starts mixing chemicals in a fishbowl and nearly kills Frankie the goldfish. Tom and his bff Pradeep zap him back to life with a battery and Frankie becomes a zombie fish who can hypnotize people.

Good Reads Review
My Big Fat Zombie Goldfish is about a boy, Tom, who has a dangerous fish, Frankie. Frankie is so dangerous he can hypnotize someone. Tom and his friend Pradeep went to a camp and secretly brought Frankie. Tom wasn’t excited for camp because he begged his mom for him not to go. During camp Tom accidently lost Frankie, and now Frankie might hypnotize all the kids at camp. Tom and Pradeep got all the help they could use, which was only Tom’s older brother Mark. I recommend this book to people who like to laugh and mystery. I recommend this book to parents, kids, and teachers.

My 10 year old picked this book. It was a little silly, the adventures of a zombie goldfish, but contained evil scientists, best friends, camping and mysteries.

The book is just entertaining stories about a goldfish and a boy I feel like it was more entertaining than what I expected. This book impacted me in a weird way of liking to read more and the author is smart to be honest.I observed that the style of the book is a bunch of fiction with other elements I feel like it was more for younger kids though. The author is really smart you can see in the book I felt like when the kids were protecting the fish. It was a basic plan but the author was the scientist he or she just outplayed them completely. I felt like they could have made both stories longer the camp was short and left me with a bunch of questions. The scientist one could’ve been longer it included too little of the other animals and a big question I had was what happened to them afterwards. The only thing that this book did to me was my dreams which I liked because I had some cool dreams. I would recommend this book to my friend Sebas because I saw him reading a similar book and I think he would like it. I think that’s all from me bye.

This is such a fun series. Gross, humorous, weird, and highly entertaining. This series is perfect for reluctant readers and book lovers alike.

This is the third book in the series, but there is enough explanation within the story so the books don't necessarily have to be read in order. It can be read as a standalone (but I happened to love the first two books so I recommend reading them as well).

The book consists of two zombie fish stories, "Frankie Goes Wild", which is full of spooky camping with a few surprise guests, and "Revenge of the Paranormal Pets", a mystery about missing nearly-super pets. Both are very funny and entertaining.

I really can't get enough of this series. It is the perfect combination of strange, creative, and fun. I'm already looking forward to the next book.

Fun. While parts of the book—the villains, heroes, and the like—can be a bit predictable, the author does a great job keeping the mystery age-appropriate, funny, and interesting. And admittedly, there were a few curve balls that were thrown in that I didn't see coming, so that was also enjoyable and kept the story lines engaging. Like that the author breaks the book into two separate, larger stories... and appreciate the cliffhangers at the end of most chapters. Loved the use of inner monologues, asides, and some cheeky humor. Overall a fan of the series and what the author's done in writing fun mysteries for young audiences. Great book!

Again, this book is ok. It’s not the best, but it is fine. One thing that I don’t like about it is that the books are pretty much the exact same. You have a villain who does something bad. The villain tries to take the goldfish and take over the world, but he is always stopped. It’s the exact same thing. I get it. This book is for littler kids, and they won’t find it repetitive, but I do. I would not recommend this series for someone that is capable of reading much bigger books. I would recommend this book/books for littler kids that need a small chapter book to read.

When Tom comes across an ad for a missing "paranormal" pet, he immediately wonders if his evil scientist big bother has something to do with it. But when he finds him, there is something else going on. His brother is being nice. He decides to go and investigate. Is his brother just putting on an act, or has something actually happened to him? Find out in Fins of Fury. I gave this book 4 stars for the great plot and nice story line. If you like mysteries, then you will like this book.

A zombie fish that can hypnotise. Fun for kids and interesting in concept. I wasnt too interested in the main character, as he was a child, and the adventures were ok. I liked the drawings that appeared often.
