Adahya’s attraction for Katherine is threatening his plans to kill Knox. Katherine is determined to save Joshua’s life…but Adahya is just as arousing as he is dangerous.

Hello, I'm Nancy Henderson and I write historical and paranormal romance...sometimes a combination of the two. Visit my website at: http://www.nancyhendersonwrites.com
I chose this book because I was in the mood for a romance story and the sample I saw actually read well. Sorry. I’ve read too many lately that obviously were never edited or formatted correctly. The fact that Ms. Henderson’s story was well-written had me getting it.
When it comes to romances, I am very picky. I like strong, Alpha males with a weakness that endears them. This met that need. Found a great story and a new author to follow.
This is the story of a young woman who suddenly finds herself going into the wilderness with an Indian. He appeared in the small mission asking for the missionary she worked for and loved. His goal? To take the missionary back to the British and collect his money as the British put him on trial and kill him. But the white woman will fetch a good price as well. His people need the money to make it through the winter. What he doesn’t expect is her boldness and the tug at his heart she gives him.
The writing is well done. I enjoyed the story immensely. It was more of a vintage style which I really love, yet the characters had a sense of contemporary personalities. Great read.
Note: I borrowed this book with no expectation of a positive review.
This is a whole new genre for me and it was a lot of fun to read. I'm used to NA so to read a historical romance took me a second to get into it, but when I did I really enjoyed it.
I really like stories where people can't stand each other at first and eventually have an insane attraction to each other.
Katherine was so in love with Reverend Knox and I felt really bad that he didn't return her love and then she couldn't see new love with Adahya as a possibility because they were so very different.
I loved seeing the interaction between these two and there was some action in this one that was a lot of fun.
I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the heroine being so annoying. I didn't like her. Sometimes I could understand her actions though but mostly not. But I loved the hero and it was refreshing to read about the mohawk culture and their tribes. I wish there were more books about this part of the native people and the time around the late 1700's. I definitely will read more books by this author. And if anyone had recommendations of similar books I would very much appreciate it.
