Darper Danver: The Complete First Series

Rate this book
Five years ago, three friends went to a remote cabin in the woods and tried to contact the spirit of a long-dead soldier. They thought they could control whatever happened next. They were wrong... Newly released from prison, Cassie Briggs returns to Fort Powell, determined to get her life back on track. Soon, however, she begins to suspect that an ancient evil still lurks in the nearby cabin. Was the mysterious Darper Danver really destroyed all those years ago, or does her spirit still linger, waiting for a chance to return? As Cassie and her ex-boyfriend Fisher are finally forced to face the truth about what happened in the cabin, they realize that Darper isn't ready to let go of their lives just yet. Meanwhile, a vengeful woman plots revenge for her brother's murder, and a New York ghost writer arrives in town to uncover the truth. Before long, strange carvings begin to appear around town and blood starts to flow once again. Contains violence, swearing and mild sexual references.

Another good tale from Amy Cross

I must admit to nearly giving up on this story half way through but, I'm glad that I didn't. This was a very dark tale from an accomplished author and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Good read

A pretty good ghost without any actual ghost! Not my favorite of Amy Cross books but I would read a sequel.

A clever story poorly edited

I care about proper English. I think an author insults me and wastes my time when the book is full of misspellings, uses the wrong tenses, and substitutes
Inaccurate pronouns, such as he for she. Unfortunately, this book was full of those kinds of mistakes. I don't plan to read any more of this author's work.

Gripping Tale

Once again the author takes you from the current day and back in time while maintaining the focus of her story. Had a few late night's as I couldn't put the book down

I struggled to stick with this one, it really seemed to drag and yet I enjoyed the character and most of the story. It took a while to really get started. Not my favorite, but decent.

I am hoping to read the second series of Darper Danver soon. The book was interesting. I liked the characters. I did notice that there some English phrases that seemed out of place in the book however, I did enjoy it. I love books from Amy Cross and I would recommend her books to anyone. If interested Asylum was a good read as well.

This SUPERNATURAL THRILLER kept me totally on edge. It is truly SCARY in that I can believe the happenings could be REAL . I don't believe anyone should mess with OUIJA BOARD. THESE PEOPLE DID and look what happened to them!!! I RECOMMEND, an Amazing read.
