Bend-Bite-Shift #7

Sweet Magic Song

Rate this book
Belle Bittner was sold to the highest bidder when she was just a child, sought for the magic lying dormant in her blood. She grew up as the adopted daughter of a wealthy vampire couple, and serving the child-trafficking Org seemed her only option in life. But Belle has other plans, and she won’t let anyone get in the way of her escape, even if it means betraying those who try to help her.

Desperate to stay free of an evil vampire who means to possess her no matter what, Belle decides she can use the protection of the flirtatious faery named Roon. The two of them flee to the faery realm where Rooney believes he can better protect her. What he doesn’t know is that taking the beautiful siren through the golden door will set off a cataclysm of events that will threaten the fabric of both the human and the faery worlds.

Separating myth from fact to decipher the truth about her powers could mean the destruction of the new life Belle’s trying so hard to build.

I received this as an ARC.

The For Love of Fae trilogy is really a continuation of the Bend-Bite-Shift trilogy. Anyone that has read the first trilogy knows about Rooney, the fairy that has been in love with and best friend to Devan, who is the focus of Witch Way Bends. Also called Roon, he has made an appearance throughout and driven women crazy with wanting to know more about him. We have also wanted to know what would become of his poor heart since Devan' s heart belongs Kent. Well Sweet Magic Song is all about Roon.

At the end of Shifty Business, Roon meets Belle, a victim of the Org's child trafficking ring. This book starts where that one left off. Roon find himself drawn to Belle. When she tries to run away from the very people that intend to help her, Roon follows her. She had the kids in tow that Roon can't leave Belle alone to take care of. He soon discovered that his curiosity is much more and that Belle feels the same way about him. Along the path of discovering their feelings, they uncover something dangerous brewing in the fairy realm. It is up to Roon, Belle, and Devan' s team to calm the Women which seems to be setting something deeper in motion.

I loved this book, but I am biased. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book that Olivia has written. I am very curious who will be the focus of the next book in this trilogy or if Roon will be the main character in the entire trilogy. The Bend-Bite-Shift trilogy had a different main character for each book. I can't wait to find out what will happen next.

Sweet Magic Song

This was a wonderful book easy to read on my phone because one never knows when you find your self in a hurry up and wait situations, and I am not a person that enjoys down time. This book was great because the people in the story had enormous tasks set for them and with magic involved I could not have ask for better.

The sweet magic song was a good read but at times I felt it the transitioning between scenes confusing.

I adored the chemistry between some of the characters and found it very interesting.

This novel is a paranormal romance that is an extension of the Bend, Bite, Shift trilogy. This is the story about Belle Bitter but it ends up being more about Roony, (Roon) the faery we all fell in love with in the Witch Way Bends. I usually prefer for the story to be more about the main character, but this novel is an exception, I really enjoyed it. I had it read within a couple hours. I really appreciated Belle's determination and her ability to adapt. Roon is a friend that everyone would want on their side.

This novel is about Belle Bittner whom as a child was auctioned off to a wealthy vampire couple as a magic blood supplicant. She is trying to escape this life and will stop at nothing to accomplish her goal. Even if means betrayal. To get a way from the vampire whom wants her for himself, she takes up with Roon, and they escape to the faery realm. Neither of them knew the danger they could be causing both the human and faery worlds.

favorite passages:

“He rided with us. He sitted right there,”
I could dive into those eyes and never have to come
up for air.
Tapping her thumbs on the steering wheel, she grooved along to the beat of the music and drove and drove and drove.
Every nerve in her burned with need even as he deepened the kiss, leaning into her so that her entire upper body bent back.
“It may be true that I wanted more from Devvie than friendship at one time, but there is only one woman who has ever lit a fire under me like the one that’s burning me up right
now.”
“You, princess, put the wow in boomchickawowow.”
Aoibhneas swept into the room like a hot breeze.
“Princess, you amaze me sometimes.”
“C’mon, Roon. Pain, joy, death, life, magic. You know
as well as anyone that we’re in this moment because
we’re supposed to be. I’m the faery-witch, and
you’re my best friend. I’m not going to let anything
happen to the woman you love.”

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. You can find the full review at Genuine Jenn

This is the first book I have read of Olivia Hardin's and I am in love. Her writing flows together right from the beginning having you hooked. The story has a great pace and I didn't find any dull lulls. I was on the edge of my seat and totally in love with Roon, le sigh. He is such a sexy, flirtatious & sweet character, he is in love with his best friend but can not have her. In Sweet Magic Song he falls for Belle and needs to make a big life decision.

This is a book of the fae realm along with witches, vampires, shape shifters and more. I was introduced to a siren and their powers in this book. Olivia did a great job with a siren character and I can't wait to read more. At first I wasn't too sure if I liked Belle but once she started to warm up to Roon I found myself liking her and rooting for the two to fall in love. This is a sweet fae romance with some steamy scenes and love in the end. Of course there are villains and they are played out very well in the story line keeping it fast paced right until the end. I look forward to reading the next book in the trilogy.

I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Olivia Hardin has begun a new trilogy with the characters we've grown to love. In "Sweet Magic Song", the story begins with Doc and Jill are once again protecting the children from the Org. Rooney is drinking himself to a stupor, thinking he'll never get over Devan...boy was he ever wrong. The moment he saw Belle his world was changed forever. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous, but also magical. You see, Belle is a Siren, a being thought extinct. Their chemistry is instant and beautiful. Unfortunately, Lodar, vampire and head of the Org, is betrothed to Belle and determined to get her back.

Another action packed paranormal romance trilogy has begun! I enjoyed every moment of this edge of your seat novel. The characters were amazing, and the more I got to know Belle, the more I loved her courageous attitude. The fairy realm sounds so awesome, I wish I could visit there. There's nothing more I can say, if you read the Bend-Bite-Shift trilogy, you absolutely must follow-up with this one.

It is no secret that one of my favorite genres is paranormal romance. But, lately this genre is a dime a dozen. You have to wade through the masses to find an author who can rise above the rest. Olivia Hardin is an author that I am always excited to read. I know that she will weave a great story that will suck me in right from the beginning.

Sweet Magic Song is another great gem. It was a smooth read with great characters. It is a branch off of the Bend Bite Shift series. (Another series I would recommend.) However, it is not required that you read them in order to enjoy this story.

I love the mix of paranormal beings that is included in this story. I feel that this kind of mix could so easily become a train wreck. But, Olivia Hardin has a way of blending it all together, so that it not only works, it doesn’t even make you think twice about it.

If you are a fan of paranormal romance, like I am, hurry on over and pick this book up. It is only $.99!

I've read Bend-Bite-Shift and since then I've always thought Roon needed his own story. Olivia did this one perfectly and although it's not his story alone, he will be the star for anyone who has read the previous trilogy and cried for his broken heart.

I love this world and can't wait to read what happens next. The trilogy block style has been fun to follow, while it moves the previous trilogy forward. At the same time, you could just as easily start here as there's enough backstory weaved in.

I've followed Olivia Hardin and have come to love her writing and storytelling. Now I'll have to patiently wait for book two and catch up on her backlist. If you enjoy urban fantasy worlds with a collection of supernatural beings, strong romance, and well rounded characters then you should pick up Olivia Hardin. She also writes contemporary romance.

Olivia is a FANTASTIC author and I was thrilled to get a change to read Sweet Magic Song for her!!

After reading the Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy, I wasn't sure what she would do in the world of Fae. But she proved that she could handle that with the greatest of ease!!

Olivia introduced us to Roon in the Bend-Bite-Shirt Trilogy. He was flirtatiously sexy and oh so loveable!! With this book focusing on Fae's, Roon is the center of attention (at least for me he was). Belle is a strong willed witch with various unusual powers.

I don't want to say a lot about what goes on in the book - because that would ruin the surprise for you. I did find that this book was hard to put down - - as I find all of Olivia's books!!!

I received this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

What a perfectly charming story. I realized after I started reading that this is the second set of stories after the Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy. I wish I would have read the first set first, but I really didn't need to in order to follow the plot. The only problem with not reading the Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy was not really knowing the characters. I had the feeling they were all well developed characters from the first series, but they were still fun and you got to know their characters' as you read. I can't wait to start Transcendent to see what happens next. I also really do want to read Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy, because I know there is more to this story...

Love Potion #11 Anthology

I gave this 5 chapters and couldn't bring myself to go any further. Roon was a pathetic excuse for a male who got annoyed when he saw women with other men because then he couldn't use them to forget about the fact that he's in love with his best friend. Which is fine, except I don't care to be in his head at all. And Belle was just a selfish bitch who was stringing along a bunch of innocent children because she wanted them around not because they would be safer or happier wherever she was going. Maybe their characters turn around but I don't care to find out.

Received the book for an honest review. This is the first book I've read by Olivia Hardin and it won't be the last. Sweet Magic Song is the first book in For Love Of Fae series. Even though I didn't read the previous series Bend-Bite-Shift trilogy I was able to follow the story and characters fairly well. Great storyline with romance, action and all the paranormal shifters we all love. Can't wait to see what book two brings.

Belle was running from a vampire with three children and Roon decides to tag along and help her. These two realize that they have feelings for each other. They realize that the vampire Belle is running from is the one Roon is trying to catch. They get help and devise a plan to catch him and be able to be together.

A good, fast read

This story was so good, I blazed right through it. We are brought into the lives of the characters quickly. The children tug at your heartstrings and add a sweet touch to the story...I'm on the hunt for the rest of the series now...

This was ok. I got this in the Love Potion No. 11 box set. I am not familiar with the characters in this story as it's a continuation/spin off from another set of books. I was still able to read it and follow along but it wasn't something I'd be rushing to get the rest of the series.

Waste of time

This was written, but even though I have been reading paranormal for several years I found it to be confusing. It is not a book that I could have followed as someone new to this genre. It would have made me not read further.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a fascinating take on the siren, and I found the characters to be rather enjoyable. My only complaint is at times, the plot seemed to rush forward.

I didn't read the other books in this series. So, I missed out on some of the world building. I feel like I missed the original story of a spin off series. I liked the romance and the story.
