Breaking the hearts and pockets of her many sponsors, Pocahontas is simply trying to get it how she lives. Juggling her career as full-time stripper, a new love interest, and the drama that plagues her life will Poca make it out on top or will her conniving ways cause her to spiral out of control?
Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.
Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.
Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.
Ghetto Pocahontas is the first book I've read by Jade Jones...and I absolutely loved it...The book was well put together and I could tell a lot of thought went into it...As much as I should have hated Poca in this book...I kept finding myself rooting for her and also feeling sorry for her...Usually I can predict everything that will happen next as I read a book...but the Gambino situation left me shocked and once again feeling sorry for Poca...Pocahontas is definitely a roller coaster ride...just when you start to like her she does something else to piss you off...This read was very entertaining and I can't wait to see what happens next with Poca...until then I purchased the Cameron Series...Ebony & Ivory...and the Schemin series to catch up on the other characters tied to this book...Jade Jones has a new fan and I will continue to support...Great work lady!
Tsk tsk, Pocahontas. This woman was so devious. I instantly disliked her in Cameron because she truly seemed heartless. This book does tell more about why she is the way she is but she chose to stay that way. I enjoyed the drama and chaos. As always Jade has a good storyline and characters that stand out. 5 stars all the way!
Wow, I never knew Poca been through all of that. So glad II read this book. I wish I read it before Cameron but its all good. By time Gambino died I knew where the story was going though. Very nice read gave me a different view on Pocahontas at first I thought she was just a bitch on purpose but now I see where her decisions stemmed from. Very good book though.
That dang Pocahontas! She is a conniving, deceitful little heifer that will do ANYTHING to make a dollar. What's the next read, cause I know there has to be more about Pocahontas. Jade Jones, girl you doing it!
Jade Jones did her thing with this book. Pocahontas was a hot mess. She continued to just make bad choices. You will love and hate the characters in this book. Would recommend this book.
The storyline started off nice then is just trailed off. It was all over the place. There was room to do so much more with the characters. I was a little disappointed.
This book was dope I couldn't stop or put it down that pocahontas is so grimey omg she is terrible and a bad mother wait she not even considered a mother cause she didnt want her child she just as trifling as trifling could be omg she was making me mad I wanted to beat her myself lol but I enjoyed reading this one great job
Crazy! This book should have been called Bipolar sss Pocahontas. Or just hood rat would have sufficed. The story was worth reading. And I held on to hope that Gambino probably faked his death to make who ever he worked for think he was dead and wouldn’t send a hit towards him and his family because he sto taking jobs.
This book was another good read by my favorite Author! The book contained many memorable cliches, i.e. difference between karma and fate. I've read the entire Cameron series, so, I was able to identify and relate many of the characters. However, in retrospect, I think I should have read this one first.
I like this author books, but this the 3rd one with no happy ending. Why could Poca Ave Gambino live happily ever after. Like soon as he gets killed Poca goes back to her old ways . Silk is a hot mess Ave he preys on young girls. I don't like the fact he never told Cam he had a child with Poca.
It hurt my feelings Gambino died. Pocas made her life very caotic. I was hoping that she was going to get her life together and keep the baby after Gambino. It was a very good bookm
I really just wanted happiness for Pocohantas she she was so misguided and had no one to teacher her life period. I wish Gabino didn't leave he was changing her. Silk wasn't ....
This was a page-turner. I read it in two days and in that time I couldn't put it down. I had high hopes for Pocahontas and really wanted to see her win.
Ghetto Pocahontas was a good book to read. It's caught me attention to reading from Jade Jones . I felt touchy and emotion from the beginning to the end of this book. This book is dealing with drugs, abusive relationship and many more. This is my tenth times to reading from Jade Jones. She takes her time to writing this book and she did a good job. I enjoyed reading this book and get know each of characters in this book. I will continue to reading another book from this author.
Now, I understand what is going on with Pocahontas. She has been through a lot in her life. I want to get know the rest of characters beside Cameron and Pocahontas in this book.
So far, this author and this book deserve a five stars from me.
Ghetto Pocahontas was a good and interest book to read. This is my second time reading from author Jade Jone. I enjoyed reading this book because it's well written and the characters are funny in this book. Jade Jone is never disappointed me for this book. She did a good job. Pocahontas has lot of issue in her life. She can't taking care of herself and not be mother to her child. She was wrong for stealing money from different guys. I felt bad for her because Silk is never being there for her. Silk and Pocahontas are the worst parents to their child. Also, I felt bad for Pocahontas because she got raped by JT.
I was not aware that this was a short story and once I got into it, it was over. After reading some other reviews, I found out that this may be connected to "Cameron" in some way. I did enjoy the story but I didn't have time to get attached to Pocahantas. At this point I don't feel sorry for anything that happened to her because her actions were trifling but hopefully my feelings about her will change. Great, quick read and I'm looking forward to reading more about Pocahantas.
I read this book after reading Cameron, and that Pocahontas was a hot mess! I loved how Jade intertwined the characters from both novels, and after reading Cameron I enjoyed receiving some background information on Pocahontas. This was a really good short story by Jade Jones, and will definitely make you want to read more of this author’s work.
I read Cameron series first now I'm getting to know all the characters in her book. This book is a really good read. It makes a lot of sense of what was going on. I'm sad gambino had to die he was a really cool dude.
A young lady leading a very terrible life. She has the means and ability to change her fate but instead continues to live recklessly. Now she must deal with karma
