She found him on a snowy night. He sparked her desires and inflamed her dreams.

Independent and feisty, Shea Madison has a tussle on her hands. Living in and loving her quiet little corner of Montana, she’s fiercely determined to fight a real estate developer trying to turn her quaint little mountain town into a touristy ski resort. So, when an outsider shows up to study the effects on the area, she instantly attempts to sway his impression… even if it means a little harmless flirting with the enticing visitor.

Rhys Weland’s charade has one purpose—to bring the locals around to the idea of the resort, primarily the ringleader, Ms. Shea Madison. Embroiled in his deception, he’s stunned by the feelings she draws from deep inside him. Her integrity and sincerity quickly have him second-guessing his twisted morals. Her spirit arouses his soul. Her sensuality steals his breath.

In the dark of the night, in the warmth of the fire, the passion smoldering between them combusts. But just when it all seems to make sense, one small stubborn mistake shreds the fragile bond between them. Will an impetuous act reignite their flame, or will their love vanish like sparks in the air?

Sibylla Matilde grew up on the back of a horse exploring in the mountain valleys of Southwest Montana. She attended a two-room schoolhouse 1st through 6th grade where she had same teacher the whole time. At the age of 12, Siby discovered historical romance, devouring the work of Jude Devereaux, Lisa Kleypas, and Karen Robards. She began writing in 2013 with her debut novel, Little Conversations, and self-published ten works over the next three years. She took a few years off to deal with life (it proved very difficult to move on from her Bangin’ Mofos…they were a blast to write), but is back at the keyboard with new steamy stories brewing in her naughty little brain.

Music is her emotional trigger. Growing up with a Wagnarian-opera-loving mother, Sibylla loves music that digs deep into her soul and covers her with goosebumps. The soundtrack to her life includes different genres and generations, but her favorites include Thirty Seconds to Mars (she’s a bit obsessive about Jared Leto, actually), Kings of Leon, The Killers, My Chemical Romance, and many other artists and bands. Her inspiration playlists on Spotify truly drive her writing, and she loves to share her eclectic taste with anyone who will listen.

Siby strives to write books that make the reader bask in the sweet glow of new love, burn hot with a passionate intensity, and day drink from gut-wrenching heartache. Her characters are not world-famous rock stars or billionaires, rather every-day small-town people experiencing their own extraordinary romantic adventures in the Rocky Mountains she calls home. Siby loves to hear from fans and can be reached at Siby@SibyllaMatilde.com.

In the short time they were together, he had found a part of himself that he didn't even know existed.

Having never read a book by this author before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect going into this. One thing is for damn sure, Sibylla Matilde can write one hell of a scorching sex scene. Wow. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy this story as much as I did. While there was sex galore, it still managed to have an engaging plot that kept me interested through the whole book. Nothing better than walking into a book with zero expectations and discovering a new author to love. Plus this marks my 300th review, so it holds a special spot for me :))

Rhys Weland is a playboy, but his womanizing does serve a purpose. Working for a multi-million dollar development firm, Rhys soon finds that while he may be a talented architect, his good looks and charisma can charm the resistance and the pants of those in the way of his boss's projects. He doesn't really have a problem with his way of life and work, until his boss throws his latest assignment his way: Shea Madison.

Shea is the loudest voice against the firm's plans of a resort in her small town. Rhys is used to his smile charming even the toughest females, but he gets more than he bargained for with Shea.

Shea was a feisty and foul mouthed heroine that you just can't help but like. She puts up a good fight against Rhys, but little by little his charm begins to chip at her walls. The fiery hot attraction between them becomes harder and harder to resist.

Rhys goes from charming to a dirty talking sex beast in no time flat. And you certainly won't be hearing this girl complaining. I do love me my sexy dirty talkers. Though I have to admit, his penchant for overusing the word "sweetheart" did drive me a little crazy.

I loved watching the attraction between them form to lust, to scorching hot sex that eventually gave way to feelings. The story was well paced and the sex scenes, while plenty, never took away from the story.

The epilogue was the perfect icing on the cake.

A solid 4 star read. If you enjoy sexy dirty talking heroes, feisty heroines, and an engaging plot filled with super hot sex, then you definitely need to read this book.

4.5 Fiery Stars

First and foremost, I loved Sibylla Matilde’s first book, Little Conversations, and so I was definitely looking forward to her second book In the Firelight. Ms. Matilde did not disappoint me at all in this book because I loved it. Loved that she was able to incorporate her home state of Montana as the backdrop to this book once again. And I most definitely loved the sexual chemistry of Rhys Weland and Shea Madison.

f6f161e3a13337c7d0c2dd2065088460

With that being said.. Wow!!!...what a prologue!! I just read the first line of the prologue and I was hooked and I knew this book would be hot, steamy, and fun. In the Firelight was one of those books that I devoured in one sitting and couldn’t get enough of Rhys and Shea…. These two definitely knew how to stay all cozy and hot on a cold winter night!!!

Rhys Weland is what you would call as the “secret weapon” go-getter for McHugh Corporation, a multi-million dollar development firm. He oozes sexiness and can charm the pants off anyone. He knows how to seal the deal in business and in the bedroom. So when Rhys was sent to a little town called Snowcreek, Montana, his mission was to persuade the townspeople to let McHugh Corporation develop a ski resort. But the only thing standing in way is Shea Madison.

InTheFirelight2

Shea Madison is one feisty independent woman. She grew up in Snowcreek all her life and is adamant that she doesn’t want McHugh Corporation to develop and ruin her small town. She knows that once Snowcreek is developed, property taxes will rise and force the townspeople to move out. Having grown up in this small town, Shea loves her small cabin in the mountains that her grandfather had left behind for her so she will go at all cost to protect the natural beauty of Snowcreek and her sanctuary of a home.

InTheFirelight1

On his way to Snowcreek, Rhys is left stranded on the side of the road due to the intense winter weather conditions. Well who comes to the rescue is no other than Miss Shea Madison. Shea invites Rhys into her home as they wait for the snowstorm to pass and for the tow-truck to arrive. When introductions were made, Rhys is stunned when he learns that his savior is also his target in securing the deal for the ski resort.

As Rhys and Shea gets to know each other, they develop this instant sexual attraction to one another. Shea is attracted to Rhys’ gorgeous and rugged features and of course his body. Its been several years since a man has caught the interest of Shea. As much as Shea wants Rhys, she tries to stay away from his magnetic pull since she doesn’t want to grow attach to a man who is only in town for two weeks. Well, as much as these two try to stay away from another, their paths always seem to collide especially since Snowcreek is a small town. Well like two moths to a flame, these two couldn’t deny their attraction to one another. When they finally submitted to their desires, sparks, steam, and holy smokes ignited!!! Rhys and Shea together could only be described as HOT!!! These two have no problem getting a little naughty in the kitchen, floor, couch, bedroom, dressing rooms, elevators, and the public library. It may have been winter in Snowcreek but Rhys and Shea have no problem with the cold because they sure were melting lots of ice with their intense hot romance.

As Rhys develops these strong feelings for Shea, he develops a guilty conscience. He’s afraid to tell Shea the truth of his true intentions of why he’s in town but he knows that he must. Shea is finally letting Rhys into her heart and life. After years of secluding herself for fear of getting hurt, Rhys has captured a piece of her heart. But after a night of sheer happiness and bliss, all comes tumbling down the next morning for Rhys when Shea learns the truth of his lies. Will Shea be able to forgive Rhys? After years of protecting of heart, can Shea let Rhys in? What will Rhys choose: work, money, or love? How far will they go to protect their love? With a relationship that started off in lies, will it be able to survive?

InTheFirelight3

Holy hotness!!! After reading In the Firelight, I couldn’t get enough of Rhys and Shea!!! The sexual chemistry they were emitting couldn’t be extinguish. Will I be reading more books from Sibylla Matilde? The answer is ABSOLUTELY!!! Ms. Matilde knows how to write romance with an added spice and steam thrown into the mix. After reading two of her books, it makes you want to go visit Montana and go find a man like Rhys Weland. So if you are looking for a book to keep you all nice and toasty warm this winter, go read In the Firelight!!

Enjoyed this one.....more so than Little Conversations. The heroine was much stronger thank goodness...and way less annoying.

I did find the pacing of this one to be a bit on the slow side.

Now, I wouldn't say I was bored necessarily but there just wasn't a lot happening most of the book.

Shea lives in the middle of the mountains in Montana. Her cabin is her lifeline of sorts. She inherited it from her grandparents. She spends most of her time there, alone, and even works from home. She's definitely a loner of sorts.

And now she faces the threat of losing her home to a potential mountain/ski resort.....which she is adamently opposed to.

Enter Rhys. Rhys is a DICK. And he works for an even bigger DICK named McHugh. Rhys is a selfish bastard who man whores his way in to business deals. He's been sent to see Shea and basically f*ck his way in to getting her to agree to the mountain/ski resort.

Now you can see where it might be hard to find Rhys very likable. And believe me, it was a little hard. There were several times I thought I was going to have to write him off. But in the end--the VERY VERY end--I ended up liking him. He dipped in to the dirty talk which was HOT.

Shea was feisty and sarcastic and independent, which was nice to see for a change.

Rhys and Shea spend most of the book going back and forth as to whether they should give in to their attraction to each other. Shea wanting to maintain her solitude and not depend on anyone or get close to someone she might eventually lose and Rhys torn between "sealing the deal" and his growing feelings for Shea.

The further in to the story I got and the longer Rhys went without telling Shea the truth the more I knew this was going to blow up BIG TIME.

And when Rhys .....

Everything boiled down to how Rhys would handle things in the end? Or would it even be his choice? Would he man-up and tell Shea the truth or pussy-out and wait for her to find out? And how would Shea react to finding out the truth?

Rhys and Shea did have some great banter...I laughed out loud several times. And there were plenty of sexy times as well. Overall, it was an enjoyable quick read.

4.5 Stars, Fabulous story about a potty mouth loner called Shea and a sexy player called Rhys.

His job is to seduce the ladies into selling their land to the big developers but when he gets stuck in the snow one day in a small mountain town in Montana, he gets more than he ever though he wanted or needed when he gets rescued by his next 'job'

This was fast paced and engaging and I absolutely loved the chemistry between the two - Shea was a delight to read, so different from other women I read about these days - strong and independant but sweet at the same time. I could have done with a tiny bit more angst because I'm a glutton for punishment but I still loved it all the same.

Oh and the sex was hot, always a good thing and the epilogue was lovely I thought.

A serene, snow filled setting..a damaged girl that thinks the love ship has sailed and a hot, brooding man whore that is sent to win over girl..recipe for hotness? Yes, and Ms. Matilde delivers as always! Let’s start with the fucking smoking hot cover..mmm

[image error] photo The_Mania_for_A-Frames_zps3bbd22e6.jpg

I already messaged the author to tell her to keep watching and practicing her porn skills because they are paying off where it counts..her books! So as a loyal reader of her books, I say keep doing whatcha your doing!

[image error] photo praying-hands-620x413_zps77480004.jpg

Rhys was sent to close a deal, to win over the local “lumberjack” woman that is hell bent on keeping the big box ski lodge out of her hometown..little did he know that under that Carhartt jacket was “the one” a hot little bodied, firecracker that was meant for him! First meeting you knew these two would be an explosive commodity.

[image error] photo Inthefirelight_zps6dc6bfa4.jpg

Whether it was dressing rooms with only a curtain, storage closets in libraries or the floor of a cabin, these two had a chemistry that cannot be denied.

Shea had thought she found not only love but a ticket out of small town Montana.. when that fell through she had fallen into a life of solitude where her only company was her dog Wolfie and an occasional elk. Until Rhys, found in a snowy ditch and captured her heart from the start.

[image error] photo beautiful-boy-christmas-couple-cute-Favimcom-427976_zps15fe86c4.jpg

These two were both lost to their closed in lives and didn’t even realize that they were missing out on actually living. Being vulnerable and exposed to each other, finally had them realize what they had in each other..

I loved this book and every book I read from this author gets better and better..keep em coming!

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!!

Wait... Did I mention that I loved it?!

I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a hot and sexy alpha. Rhys Weland is the ultimate mountain man in my opinion. He has the cocky attitude, the cheeky smile and the panty dropping looks. No wonder Shea fell head over heels for him. If she didn't snap him up then I was getting my arse on a plane to Montana and taking him myself...

What can I say about this book that hasn't already been covered off by the other reviews? Nada... It's brilliant and so are all of the other reviews. Because once again, Sibylla Matilde, has not just written a book... No, no, no! She has written yet another scorching, page-turning, mind-fuck of a story that will keep you gripped from the start!

Big bravo to my Ho... This book is going to do so well, and you deserve every little bit of success!!

★★★★ SEXY STARS!!!!

Rhys Weland works on a multi-million dollar development firm as an architect but who also charms and screws his way through resistance to the company's projects. Now he is being sent to a little town called Snowcreek to charm and screw Shea Madison, a feisty and independent woman, who made it her mission to keep their project out!

Rhys pictured Shea to be a lumberjack woman, with hairy upper lips and big buck teeth and unibrow.... but what he found was a beautiful, curvy little, hazel-eyed, foul-mouthed angel.

This is a sexy, hot, funny, romantic novel that is beautifully written, with just a little angst around the climax of the story.

Rhys definitely doesn't play nice and you'll grow to love him. Shea might be a little bit of a potty mouth but she's got her head on her shoulder, she's real and I love her independence.

Sex was hot, though the "F" word is spoken like really a lot!

4.5 fire cracking stars

I really enjoyed this..A hotshot, handsome architect, Rhys, has a remit to kick any building project into submission, should there be any objections to the plans. His company know this godlike player is the best artillery, and they use it to their advantage. His target; Shea Madison. An outspoken, do gooder intent on ensuring the beauty unspoilt in Snowcreek.

Rhys Weland has a notion of Shea, but when he attempts to arrive at his destination, he is caught up in an advancing snowstorm. Lucky for him, someone is on hand.

I enjoyed so much about this book. Shea's smart mouth was super endearing, and came from her experiences of being let down. Her character was fiercely independent and I was on her side immediately.

Rhys was calling to me..he oozed a predatory mission, but was blindsided by all things Shea. The banter, the chemistry, it was inclusive. So inclusive, I couldn't put this down. There are too many scenes to mention, that captured me. Sold!

Great job..I will certainly be delving into other things Sibylla!

In the Firelight Sibylla Matilde
In The Firelight by Sibylla Matilde
Sexy full length standalone. Romance
4.5 hot and sexy stars, 5 Heat
“I broke every one of my rules with you…”

What a perfect book to read snuggled up in front of a fire while you are snowed in! In The Firelight by Sibylla Matilde is  a very hot and sexy read with little drama and angst. We have a strong, independent, snarky heroine, and a bad-boy, dirty-talking guy that needed to change his ways. Taking place in a snowy, quaint mountain town in Montana, I enjoyed the setting, and got to feel a little of the snow way down here in Florida (OK, not really, but my imagination worked good enough).

Rhys Weland may have grown up in Montana, but it's been a long time since he's been back. Now he's a ruthless, do-anything-for-a-buck guy who comes to the small Montana mountain town of Snowcreek to help persuade the townspeople to support the idea of a big ski resort in the area. His good looks and charm have never fail to bring people, especially women, around for the McHugh Corporation.

Shea Madison lives alone with her dog Wolfie in a secluded cabin she inherited. She absolutely loves her town, and is smart enough to know how a big resort will change everything. It will cause taxes to rise, eventually pushing the townspeople out. They need her property for the resort, and she intends to fight tooth and nail to keep it. Shea is the one Rhys is really there to convince, but he got a lot more than he bargained for after Shea had to rescue him from a snowy ditch and bring him back to her home for shelter until the tow truck could come.
“Instantly, Rhys thought back to why he was here. He had to behave himself, to focus on the end prize. Not to perv over this little paradox of femininity.”

Shea is feisty. She has a foul mouth. She doesn't take shit. She fights the attraction between them, but Rhys is right there to tease and entice her at every turn.
"I don't want to want you," she murmured desperately. "You're trouble for me."

Shea thinks Rhys is taking an independent survey of the land, and has no idea he is working for the company who is trying to take it. Rhys is getting in too deep, he didn't expect this beautiful, feisty, sexy woman, with whom he had an instant connection. What will happen when she finds out why he's really there?
“Reality doesn’t need to intrude yet. Right now, it’s just my body and yours.”

Shea knows he's only there for a short time she won't let her heart get caught up. But hey, she's a grown woman. Ain't nothing wrong with a little hot nookie with the fuckhot guy with the sexy unshaven mountain thing starting.
“The things you do to me… you have no idea. You fight it, although I can see that you want to give in. You put up a good front. But, when I’m deep inside you and you finally let go, it is so beautiful to see you come apart. Hottest fucking thing I’ve ever seen.”

The sex was well written and was totally hot alpha sex, but it never felt like it was too much sex for the story, it worked just perfectly.
“Sweetheart, seriously….You really have to buy it anyway now, I think there’s some kind of unwritten rule that, if you have an orgasm in a dress when trying it on, you have to buy it.”

Likes:

•The snowy Montana setting.
•Shea's feisty nature.
•Perfectly written scorching hot sex scenes.
•Banter (I love banter).
•Rhys's dirty talk.
•The dressing room scene. OMG
•I had a grin on my face most of the book with a little bit of emotion.
•Nothing too angsty of crazy, just a nice, hot and sexy romance with the suspense of 'what will happen when she learns'.
•Great epilogue.

Dislikes:

•Overuse of the word "sweetheart" and bony prominence (?)

Rating: 4.5 stars 5 Heat

In The Firelight by Sibylla Matilde is a  perfect read between angstier books. I love a book that makes me smile, swoon, get turned on, bookmark pages for 'later use' lol, and have characters that I adore. While this may not be the most memorable book of the year, it was just an all around very enjoyable read that I adored. I'm so glad I came across this one for one of my lists and my twitchy finger took over and hit the 1-click. I look forward to reading more by this author!

description

Gitte: ‘In The Firelight’ is a really good book, it has a little bit of everything. Romance, passion, a filthy talker, a strong heroine, angst and a bit of drama. It’s not fast-paced or an action packed story, in fact it’s a tad slow at times, but I really enjoyed it. It’s a fab read for sure. I have to say I loved the setting, the snow and the mountains; the nookie by the firelight hahaha, it was a really fab book because it was entertaining and the nookie was HOT! Sometimes you just need one of these easy to read romances right?!

“Reality doesn’t need to intrude yet. Right now, it’s just my body and yours.” – Rhys

The characters are brilliant, really well written and likeable. The hero Rhys is a cock, a filthy talking cock, he goes on quite a journey in this story! And Shea is wicked cool and strong with just the right amount of vulnerability. The sexual tension could be cut with a knife but, wow, when it happens we discover quite a hot and SEXY side of Rhys. His “dirty dirty girl’ comments had me melting on the floor into a puddle at his feet.

“…standing in front of half the town, talking to the preacher…with no fucking panties on….You dirty, dirty girl…” – Rhys

Rhys works for McHugh Corporation a development firm as a wheeler dealer, though he started as a promising architect. He always gets sent in when someone (female!) needs persuading to sell to the company; and he’s so bloody shady and calculating. He’s a bastard and an arse to women. He uses and sways them with smooth talking charm until the company gets what they’re after. He loves it too, he knows he’s irresistible, a cocky sexy alpha male, what woman could resist?

“The things you do to me…you have no idea. You fight it although I can see that you want to give in. You put up a good front. But, when I’m deep inside you and you finally let go, it is so beautiful to see you come apart. Hottest fucking thing I’ve ever seen.” – Rhys

Rhys travels to Montana all gung-ho (lol) to sort out the issue of “the woman who won’t sell”. He’s ready to fight dirty and is not worried about getting his hands dirty (pun totally intended). Rhys is an empty shell of a man, his true self and his dreams and aspirations long forgotten and buried beneath the cool and cocky exterior. He’s forgotten what it is to feel and love. He has a vulnerable side but you’d need a bloody good map and a torch to find it at first. He talks the talk and he had me hook line and sinker!!!

“Sweetheart, seriously….You really have to buy it anyway now, I think there’s some kind of unwritten rule that, if you have an orgasm in a dress when trying it on, you have to buy it.” – Rhys

“I didn’t expect you. I’m not sure how to leave this behind.” – Rhys

Rhys certainly got more than he bargained for in Shea, when he went to persuade her to sell her land didn’t he, Jenny! She totally changed his life, his priorities, he found himself again after getting lost in all the corporate shady business!

“I broke every one of my rules with you…” – Rhys

Jenny: Even though this book was fairly predictable, I have to say Gitte, I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless and yes! Sometimes you just need a good romance book where the fun is in the escaping. It’s fun to lose yourself completely and not because they’re overly emotional or overly angsty but because they are just a really fun, hot and all round enjoyable read and I have to say that’s what In The Firelight was for me. And a sexually charged escape at that! Loved it and Rhys……bloody hell, him and his dirty, dirty mouth….pass the fan!!

Oh yes, he certainly met his match with the no nonsense, straight shooting Shea Madison that’s for sure. I adored this girl. She was strong, passionate, fiery, loyal and stood by her beliefs and never wavered, giving our cocky hero a run for his money. No wonder Rhys was completely smitten with her. This girl was such a sexy little dynamo with a mouth like a sailor and a heart of gold who was learning to drop her emotional walls.

“She’s letting you in, Rhys. You may not see it, but this is a huge thing for her.”

Shea showed such strength of character despite the pain of a failed marriage in her past and she’s definitely not looking for a relationship. There was a hidden vulnerability to Shea that really endeared me to her. She has a lot to lose and there is no way she is going to allow anyone to take away her much loved Cabin that had been handed down to her by her Grandfather. The cabin was the one stability in her life and she was not going to let it go without a fight. No matter what those pesky developers threw at her!

“I love this place, Rhys. I grew up back in these mountains. I’ve never known anyplace else quite like it.” – Shea

I loved the development of the relationship between these two and as you say…the sexual tension and the eventual sex itself was explosive and hot.

“Rhys, all I want is right now. I want to sit here with you in the firelight. I want you to kiss me and to hold me.”…….”I want you to fuck me.” – Shea

These two certainly steamed up the page that’s for sure! To witness Shea’s dormant desires unfold and be fulfilled by Rhys…wowsers….it was fun, flirty and bloody HOT yet the sex never overruled the story.

G&J: So, we both enjoyed this one and can recommend it for readers who enjoy a good romance with not too much angst and drama, a funny and strong heroine and a hot dirty talking hero! In The Firelight is a fab easy read that has a little bit of everything.

Another 5* read from the talented Sibylla Matilde.

It has the best first line in a book ever "Her hands closed over his cock, gripping tightly as he pressed her up against the copy machine " How can you not want to read this book !!!!

I really enjoyed this book, Sibylla has this knack of creating the most panty dropping worthing guys in book history and Rhys was no acception
He is hotter then hot !!!!

I usually have trouble bonding with female leads in books, but not in this case Shea ( love the name ) is feisty and strong, she's not going roll over just cause he's a good looking male ( I would) Rhys has to win her trust as Shea has been hurt before and decided to lock herself away from the world because if your Alone else can leave you.

Rhys finds herself developing feelings for the first time ever and it's with someone that he shouldn't , someone who doesn't know the truth about why he is in snowcreek

Loved Siyblla's description of the mountain setting you can almost smell the pine trees and feel the fires glowing though her words
A few Teasers

" I think there's some kind of unwritten rule that, if you have an orgasm in a dress when you're trying in on you have to buy it"~ Rhys

And then he was filling her, stretching her, claiming her. Shea cried out sharply as his thick, pulsating manhood slid in to the hilt and they both stopped moving for a moment to relish the feel of their connection

Shea murmured against his lips "Yeah Sweetheart?" he asked back "When you fuck me " she pulled hard on his tie "I want you to wear the suit" ~ Shea

The character of Michelle, crazy kiwi rings a few bells , loved her and kiwi isms , she's an amazing pimp !!!!!

I loved the sex scene really well written and in amazing detail and in some amazing places, well done after reading so many erotica books you made it still fresh and new !!!!!

If you looking for a hot romance with amazing sex in front of a crackling log fire look no further it's all here.
Thanks Sibylla for another hot read !!!!!

Now I am not a professional blogger or reviewer - just a normal mum who likes to read, so my review will be short and sweet...
Holy Moly this book had from the start! .... when Shea & Rhys meet for the first time you know things are going to heat up. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. I spent ages fretting over how this was all going to end - I even shed a few tears and had a lump in my throat. I will not ruin it for everyone by adding in spoilers - but how Sibylla ties up the story is just brilliant and the epilogue is beautiful.

Gitte: 4.5 Stars

Gitte:
‘In The Firelight’ is a really good book, it has a little bit of everything.

Jenny:
Even though this book was fairly predictable, I have to say Gitte, I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless and yes!

“All Women wanted someone. Even the man-haters really, deep down inside, wanted someone to love. To be loved by someone.”

This isn’t a story about a man-hating woman, or an overbearing Mountain Man. This is the story about a beautiful young woman forced back in to the solitude of her Montana Country life due to a man who brutally butchered her heart. Shea Madison is a strong independent woman living solo in a quaint cabin in the desolate Montana wilderness, her only companion being her Beautiful big “Wolfie” dog. She’s in a constant fight for the land that she holds so dear to her heart, trying to keep the precious claim on it, before the big conglomerate “McHugh Corporation” tries to turn the cute little town into a bustling winter resort. Shea has no clue that the one thing she never wanted might be the only thing holding her back from her dreams of keeping her home intact.

That thing comes in the form of a beautiful gorgeous creature named Rhys Weland. Mr. McHugh’s right hand man and puppeteer-playboy for the multi-million dollar development firm. When Mr. McHugh says jump, Rhys jumps full force into any project given to him. Not caring about who it may hinder in the process. You see, this horrible McHugh man sends Rhys out on adventures to “Woo” stupid women into handing over key elements in business practice which might benefit him and his company. In turn, Rhys is physically and monetarily compensated GREATLY. So when he gets the “project” to tame a certain Shea Madison, He thinks it will be another walk in the park. What he doesn’t know is that he’s about to step in the biggest pile of crap he’s ever seen!

“Instantly, Rhys thought back to why he was here. He had to behave himself, to focus on the end prize. Not to perv over this little paradox of femininity.”

Rhys was instantly drawn to Shea, and he had no clue why. He became stupidly stuck in a snowy ditch, and Shea came to his rescue. This is where this sweet sexy love story takes an interesting turn. Shea wants Rhys, BADLY but of course has to keep her guard up being a single independent woman and all. And Rhys pretty much perfects pushing Shea’s buttons! Literally and figuratively! But underneath it all, Rhys had a job to do, But Shea made it extremely hard, the chemistry between these two is through the roof HOT! When they finally figure it out that they need each other it is BAM hot! I’m just saying stuff now, but it’s true! Rhys is a pretty good dirty talker for those of you that need that!

“Rhys could barely believe the heaven he’d just experienced. His face was buried in the sweet scent of Shea’s neck, and he never wanted to move. Ever. He wanted to stay here, right fucking here, for the rest of his fucking life.”

These two go back and forth quite a bit with their want and need for each other. Or I should say they let their head outplay their heart, because the need is most definitely there! There is obviously some drama, but in the end I was extremely happy with what Sibylla Matilde did with the story. The characters were believable and LOVEABLE! At least Rhys was, I wanted to slap Shea a few times for being so damn stubborn! But ultimately I liked her too. This was a great read for me, and the fact that they spent most of their time in a cabin by the firelight wasn’t lost on me. I loved it! Reading it made me feel warm and cozy, and Rhys is totally a sexpot ladies

Rhys is a corporate worker who uses his seduction skills to secure his boss whatever his boss needs without conscience. This is until he meets Shea who changes his whole perspective and makes him re-evaluate his entire outlook on life. They have an highly sexual relationship that develops into deep feelings. Rhys suffers with guilt for deceiving Shea and Shea suffered in her past and struggles to open up.

Lots of sex, little bit of angst and satisfying HEA.

“I broke every one of my rules with you,” he whispered with a tender look in his eyes. “I never let myself feel anything. I never connected with anyone. I never wanted to make someone else happy. I was going through life playing a character…”

I received an ARC from the author... (thank you thank you thank you Sibylla!). I am not a professional writer by any stretch of the imagination but I love to read and and I do think I have good taste. That being said.....this book is AMAZING! I was hooked right from the beginning and never wanted Rhys and Shea's story to end. I could totally see and feel what Shea was feeling when she was near Rhys and was rooting for Rhys to do the right thing! Loved their chemistry....love scenes were HOT HOT HOT!

This was the first book of Sibylla's that I have read but I can honestly say she has a new fan in me. :)

This was just okay. Honestly, it read like one of the Harlequin romances I gobbled up as a kid. The story was typical where the guy uses the girl to further his needs for a development deal that will tear her tiny mountain community to shreds. But, the man falls for her, almost immediately, and decides it's okay to pursue her. Alas, his lies tumble out and she's hurt and feels betrayed. Love prevails, of course, HEA.

Recommend: No, unless you want a fluffy read
Reread: Nope, sorry
Main characters: I like them a lot
Angst: not too much
Steam: Hot
HEA: Yes
Standalone: Yes
Series: No, thank goodness

Movie, please! I was able to watch this entire story unfold right before my eyes.

Shea is one tough little cookie that's had to take care of herself for a while now. She was strong and bold, and... a woman with needs. Lucky for us, Rhys knew just how to fulfill them. *sigh* I loved the independence Shea showed throughout the book.

Rhys... what can I say about him? Well, I'm not one to crush on a mountain man, but good gosh, his dirty mouth and alpha ways was enough to make any ice melt on the coldest of days.

Congrats, Siby! You have possibly won me over with Mr. Henry Cavill.

This is a cozy cuddle by the fire read.
I like Rhys. i like how he starts out gentle and soft and talks raunchy right before he comes. I liked his redemption at the end.

A few continuity problems. A few issues could have been revealed more slowly and developed further. Word repetition was a bit distracting...his pulsating length. Would have liked to have something a bit more memorable and unique about Rhys.

But Rhys and Shea's chemistry was great and the sex was sizzling. A very pleasant naughty read.

***** Review*****

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies… Let me introduce you to Mr. Rhys (pronounced Reese) Weland.. My new Book Boyfriend of 2014. Let’s talk about HOTTTT!!!! Tall, rugged, dark hair and gorgeous with stunning blue eyes that immediately captured the hearts of any woman he came into contact with. Did I mention his 5 O’Clock Shadow/Beard?? God, I LOVE beards! Anyways, lets get down to the nitty gritty.

Rhys is sent to Snowcreek, Montana by his employer to win over the people of this small town and convince them to allow his company to build a new Ski Resort on the side of the mountain that Snowcreeek occupies. The only thing standing in the way is the land owned by Shea Madison. Shea’s defiance to sell her land stands in the way of making Rhys’ boss millions of dollars and it’s Rhys’ job to win Shea over, by any means necessary.

What Rhys doesn’t expect is to actually develop feelings for the gorgeous, self-professed, tomboy. The chemistry between Rhys and Shea is undeniable and the more they try and deny their feelings, the harder they fall. I really enjoyed the cat and mouse game between Rhys and Shea. Rhys’ confidence was a HUGE turn on! OMG, there is nothing better than a man who knows just how much he effects a woman, and boy did he know it! Rhys knew just how to get to Shea and make the desire between them practically unbearable. This isn’t to say that Shea was soft at all, because she wasn’t. Shea was a strong woman; one who knew what she wanted and knew the importance of staying true to her values. I appreciate the fact that she wasn’t the type of woman who was completely standoffish and rejected the attention of Rhys. She didn’t realize at first how it felt to have a man around, as she was used to doing everything on her own. When Rhys came into the picture, she began to feel emotions and feelings that she never knew existed and she didn’t deny herself the opportunity to experience these feelings.

Excerpt #1 from Chapter 7 – The Bar

“Watch out,” Rhys said as he slipped his arm around the curve of her waist. “This guy needs to get by.”

His hand slid softly down her spine to settle on the curve of her backside, and the touch of pressure brought her tightly up against him, eliciting a tremble that ran through her. Shit! The rum was going straight to her head. She stared up at him for a moment. “You okay, sweetheart?” he murmured softly with a concerned smile. Shea could feel the heat of his body, the softness of his flannel shirt. She could smell his enticing clean scent of soap and pine. His fingers shifted slightly where they rested, almost gripping, and the motion brought her a little closer even until her breasts were firmly pressed against his chest. Her breath caught in her throat at the flicker of heat in his eyes, and the rest of the bar seemed to fade as a tremor ran through her. Rhys dipped his head slightly, and Shea’s eyes drifted closed.

Oh my God, he was going to kiss her again.Just before his lips could taste hers, Trinity came burrowing through the crowd, followed by a few of her barfly friends. “Hi, Rhys,” she smiled widely, noting that Rhys’ hand was firmly seated on Shea’s ass.

“Ladies…” Rhys winked at the girls, and all three broke out into nervous giggles. Shea pushed at him slightly, but he held her firm and looked back down at her with a stern shake of his head that stilled her and made her heart thud heavily in her chest. It unnerved her that she so quickly complied, and Shea took another long drink of her rum and Coke.

“Oh my God, Trinity,” one of them exclaimed a little too loudly as they disappeared back into the crowd. “You’re right. He’s amazing!” “Wow!” the other chimed in with a squeal. “But what the hell is he doing with Shea?” Rhys looked down at Shea as she scoffed at the comment. “What’s wrong?” he laughed. “My God, you’d think they’d never seen a dude before,” Shea grumbled as she reached for her fourth heavily-alcohol-laden drink, finishing it off and holding her glass up to the bartender to indicate the need for yet another.

“Are you jealous?” Rhys beamed as he studied her. “No. Of course not,” Shea argued a bit breathlessly. “It’s just kind of disgusting the way every woman in this town seems to be throwing themselves at you. Even some of the married ones.” “You are a little jealous, aren’t you?” he needled. Shea grabbed her new rum and Coke, taking another long drink through the tiny straw as she looked up at him with a bit of annoyance. “You don’t know what you’re talking about,” she finally muttered, very unconvincingly.

“Well, would you like to know a secret?” Rhys teased, taking a sip of his beer. He set the bottle on the bar, and then reached his fingers up to trace the curve of her jaw. His hand was chilled from holding the cold bottle, and the cool touch tingled and teased her skin. “There’s only one woman in this town that has kept me awake at night.”

< — How fucking hot was that?? And can I be the first to say the conversations between Rhys and Shea seemed so real and familiar? Almost as though I’ve either had those conversations myself or heard a conversation like that? The need to tease and protect her seemed so familiar, that it could’ve been real life if you didn’t know any better.

Sibylla did a GREAT job capturing the realness of the relationship of Rhys and Shea and it was so nice to experience a female lead who was a strong lead and not afraid to back down, but to own her ‘girlyness’ as well.

5- Martini’s from Classy Ladies Dirty Books! You ladies need to grab this book now and fall in love with a Lumberjack, lol!!

Arc received or an honest review .

A big 4 1/2 stars!

Loved this story, incredible strong and smart heroine! Shea Madison is on what seem like a one women campaign to protect her small town home in Montana from being taken over by a large ski resort and she is making enough waves that the developer has sent in his best man to persuade her to the cause, any way he has to; Rhys Welamd. Rhys is incredibly sexy , skilled negotiator whohasalwaysbeensuccessful in his previous negotiations .

Rhys arrives in town to face a snowstorm and becomes stuck unprepared on a mountain road in a small rental car and who should wind up being his savior? Why the very short, grumpy bossy potty mouth he is supposed to seduce into going along with the ski resort! And at that point I am hooked because the chemistry between these two is off the charts!

Rhys slowly starts breaking down Shea's resistance at first but once he cracks her tuff surface she gives in willingly even though she does not want to; the sex scenes between these two are fantastic but as this relationship progresses
Rhys discovers that his conscious is bothering him ! That Shea's passion for her home town and it's people are affecting him and just maybe for the first time he has fallen in love...

But how to get out of this situation without hurting Shea or his chances with her? How to prove to her that she has come to really mean something to him when she keeps trying to push him away so as not to get hurt.

So along with two feisty characters ,you have secrets, angst and thank god an epilogue!

Thanks Sibylla for a great read!

WOW WOW WOW !! I have to say this book started out with a funny foul mouth country girl and ended with a funny foul mouth country woman. Shea was such a pleasure to read about, she made me laugh, cry and her mouth and humor and charm were what kept you reading from page to page to see what she would do next. After a horrific 1st marriage she really never got to experience love at first hand. Then to come to meet Rhys a big city man whore but who really was a country boy at heart threw her for a loop. Will she survive him and his cute smile, big arms, strong back and of course his cute butt.....????

Shea never wanted to be in a dating or loving situation with a man again after how Gerard threw her to the side when a x girlfriend came back into the picture and ended her marriage because she knew in her heart that men always left and she would be broken hearted again, so she built a guard up around her heart and to keep her safe but was she safe from Rhys or just plain lonely ......

But then Rhys comes to town to try and sway her with his good looks and charm to sell her property so a developer can put in a ski lodge would it work and or would she know what he was doing or would they both let there guard down and fall in love for the first time, for both of them...... .????

I received this ARC book for my honest option and I have to say, I read this book is 1 day because I couldn't put it down. Between Shea's humor and foil mouth and Rhys good looks, charm and moves, the beautiful description's of the country side, mountains, valley's and the small home town feel of Montana this book is a WINNER in my eyes !! Great job Sibylla !!

****I WAS GIVEN THIS ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW****
Wow, I'm still melting from reading this. Makes me wanna pack all my stuff up and move to Montana and find me a hot and sexy mountain man. Rhys Leland will have your knees shaking and begging him to sneak you into any dressing room or closet you can find. He's a hot playboy living his life the way he pleases. Working for McHugh Corporations he's sent to Snowcreek, Montana to work his charm on Shea Madison a feisty little thing that doesn't need no one to make her happy. She's happy with the life she has in the mountains living in her cabin with her dog Wolfie. But when Rhys Leland arrives into this small town and has all the ladies wanting his attention will Shea be one of them?

I absolutely loved Rhys. I loved his cocky and dirty mouth "Mmm...he murmured. "You're deliciously sexy, sweetheart. The way your breath hitches in your throat. I've been inside you enought to know what your pretty little pussy is doing when you make those gaspy sounds." He sucked her fingers into his mouth once again."Mmm...I can almost feel it." Believe me you'll love him. Give this book a chance. Plus this author is one hot mama. Love her to death. Great job Sibylla.....leezy kisses to ya.

Given the Arc In return for a honest review. Wow!! It was great right from the prologue!!! And it was the perfect setting for the rest of the story.

I loved the chemistry and sexual fireworks between these two characters. I loved Shea she was a strong female character that stayed true to herself throughout the book. Out spoken, strong willed, independent and honest. And she did not waver.

"I know I shouldn't... I keep replaying that last kiss, though. The sweet taste of your lips. Fuck, sweetheart. You make me so ...hungry. " - Rhys

Then came Rhys.... His character was a raw dirty talker with a hint of sugar. My definition of yummy. His goal was to try and schmooze her out of her land to make way for a resort. But by god, he was not prepared for this little firecracker !! It was instant attraction and sexual tension between the two which got hotter by the page. I won't spoil it for ya, but I so totally recommend this hot little story that takes place somewhere in the freezing temps of Montana.

**** EROTICA BOOK CLUB REVIEW ****

In the Firelight
by Sibylla Matilde

When Rhys Weland is sent to a small town in Montana by his boss the woo the woman and get her to change her mind about objecting to them building a ski resort there, he is not expecting Shea Madison to be the hot woman that rescues him from a snow storm.
They have an attraction and he has feeling for her that he has never felt towards another woman before.

This is a hot and sexy read with well written sex scenes. I like Shea's "don't take no crap" attitude she is a likeable character, I wasn't so keen on Rhys to begin with but he certainly redeemed himself and I found myself swooning over him by the end. A great storyline with a very hot begining and I was happy to see that everyone got what they deserved by the end of the book.
A very enjoyable and sexy read and I will be reading more from this author in the future.

I received an ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review

4.5 stars. Great setting in beautiful Montana and Shea is clearly in love with her town and her land. Thinking her life is just fine living alone with Wolfie as her only companion in her grandfather's little cabin, Shea is getting by. She is a strong woman with a potty mouth, but she is real. When Rhys pops in her life, she is unsettled and not happy about it. She finds she can't deny the attraction and thinks, "What the Hell?" Nothing worth its weight is easy and they both have to work hard to either stay together or forget each other. Rhys however, is a player and there to do a job, screw around and leave. He doesn't even expect to like Shea, and negotiates with his boss for hazard pay. But the attraction is undeniable. Great story, great characters, great setting. I received this book free from the Fifty Shades ARR group.

Having read some of the other reviews of this book, I have to say Kelly Kindle Konfessions has it right when she says it has the best opening line to a book! and from that moment you're hooked and you won't be able to put it down!
Rhys, (its his cock that's in that first line!)is sent to Montana to woo a lady so his boss can buy her land for a development to be built.
Rhys meets Shea (he doesn't know at first that that's his target) and so begins the fantastic story of smooth but hot Rhys and feisty Shea. Its a story packed with sexual chemistry.
I really love Sibyllas writing and character descriptions, I love that Shea was an independent, strong but sweet lead.
Great lines such as

"when you fuck me, I want you to wear the suit"
Its just brilliant, Can't wait for more from Sibylla.
5 stars.
