In the words of the author, “These letters are meant to vent, challenge, or simply entertain, but always to leave the reader and the writer changed.” Terri Brady cleverly manages to transfer the extraordinary life lessons God has taught her straight into readers’ hearts, where inspiration and transformation take place. She has been captivating audiences for nearly twenty years with her heartfelt and often hilarious teachings and stories on such topics as the joys of marriage and raising children, living a Godly life, overcoming obstacles, and achieving success. Along with some of her most joyous experiences, she candidly shares her own personal struggles with overcoming such life obstacles as pride, doubt, infertility, a brain tumor, and having a child with life-threatening food allergies by drawing close to and surveying the character of God and surrendering to His greater plan and benevolence. Letters to Lindsey is the perfect treasure to help you build your faith and thoroughly enjoy and appreciate life.
Insightful. Inspirational. Heart-warming. Thought-provoking. Terri Brady never ceases to amaze me on how she can weave life lessons into what would seem to be the most mundane things. A masterful storyteller, this collection of her blog touches on so many things that women (at least an ordinary woman like me) struggles with. Never condemning or forceful, her blogs are written with reflection on her own life and with such love for her readers (probably more like humanity in general) that reading them felt like drinking a cozy cup of quality hot cocoa (comforting and yet beneficial... yes, quality chocolate is good for our health ;) ) This was such an enjoyable read and has encouragement me on my own walk with God.
This book is filled with wonderful gifts of wisdom and will be a blessing to anyone's life. You can read it in little slots of time to get the boost you need and it's a fantastic reminder that Christ is with us always. I love the way Terri Brady uses stories from her life to teach Christ and I love the reminder I get of how to love, forgive, be an excellent mother, an excellent wife, and a good friend. Through all the peaks and valleys of life this book is a wonderful reminder that Christ is with us all. I enjoyed reading every one of her stories and I've learned so much. This will be a great gift to bless other people along the way!
For the first couple of days reading this 'coffee table' book, I finished about 30-odd pages; then, as the content really took hold of my spirit & heart-strings, I ingested all of the philia, agape, & storge love that this terrific book has to offer and finished the rest in about 36 hours.
It's a solid 4 1/2 stars that I rounded upwards to the full 5 since there is so much wonderful teaching in here - that it must be read by as many men, women, & teens as possible - in order to add yet another booster shot of positivity into our world at large.
This was an excellent book of the best blog posts by Terri Brady. She is a great writer. She touches on so many topics. She is very transparent and is very genuine in what she says. She is also very good at seeing tge funny side in things, even when she's the subject of the joke. All these things come through in her debut book.
4.5 stars and rounding up. This book nourished my soul. Terri is incredibly eloquent. And her stories brought me to tears and to burst out laughing more than once. As someone pregnant with our first kiddo, the timing seemed perfect to get some "pearls of wisdom" from a pro at the "mom thing". I really appreciated this book and can definitely see re-reading it again some time.
Terri Brady has such a powerful way of teaching biblical principles through personal stories. Some of the stories are shared with humor, others will bring the reader to tears. But through it all, the heart of a beautiful woman is shared and the reader is inspired to persevere in their walk with Christ.
A delightful read and a good message all rolled into one. It will uplift your day. Terri tells wonderful stories and gives something to think about with each.
